We took a walk to get a few breakfast items. Very long. We started our Saturday morning with a nice walk to grab coffee and breakfast, and it was the perfect way to kick off the day. We ordered two large coffees, two ham, egg, and cheese open-faced croissants, and a blueberry scone. I wasn't used to having a breakfast sandwich served open-faced, but I'm officially a fan now. The croissant was flaky, buttery, and paired perfectly with the ham, egg, and cheese. Every bite was delicious. The coffee was exactly what we needed to start the morning, and everything together made for a fantastic breakfast. Tom Terrific here with another honest review. I could not get waited on at the Birchwood Canopy so I searched for a place to eat elsewhere. I came up Cassis Market advertising pizza so I popped in and ordered on with pepperoni, sausage and ham. One slice came to nearly $7. The man behind the counter was polite but uninterested. He looked like he wished he could be anywhere but there. I took my pizza out to eat at their outside table. I took a bite. Man was it stiff. And that was at the point where it's usually the best part. I kept eating and crunching. No moisture at all. Some flavor but not enough to justify the cost or enduring the hardness. The ham was hard. The pepperoni was all curled up and looked overcooked. The sausage was just OK. I was hungry but I left half of it and threw it in the trash. It sat in my stomach like I had swallowed an anvil. Now I must say I selected this from a whole pizza in the display case. It was not a piece that had been lingering there for a long time. We ordered a pizza, chai tea and a turkey sandwich. For the good: the location is spot on. For the bad: pretty much everything else. The pizza may have been the worst slice of pizza I have had in the last decade. It should have been thrown out hours earlier, but they sold it to us anyways. The tea was served so hot and was bitter. The person making the drinks didn't k ow what they were doing, and it shows. This is on management/ I'm sure somebody called out sick and this person was clearly not trained. The result is a $6 drink that was not drinkable. The turkey sandwich was very good, and is the only reason this isn't one star. I wish the house made chips were less salty as they were not enjoyable. All in all, I would bypass this place at all costs if there is a line. Pastries looked great- if you just went for a dessert, I think you would be happy. read more

Sooooo this place was amazing! I was in St. Petersburg visiting with some friends and one of them kept saying that we could not leave without getting a croissant from this place. I mean like she said it at least 5 times in a matter of hours so I was like yeah, okay, we'll go but didn't really understand why she was soooo dead set on coming here for a croissant. We finally made our way here right around 10:30 on a Sunday morning and entering the market I thought of this place is cute (a little Parisian flair) and whatever they were making smelled absolutely delicious. There was a bit of a line to order but it wasn't too bad and by the time I got to the register I was set on the ham and cheese croissant ($7), veggie quiche ($8), oatmeal raisin cookie ($2.75), and orange juice ($6.50). While I did see all sorts of goodies in the display case (chocolates, tarts, cheesecake, macarons, pastries) I knew what I picked was a decent choice. We sat outside on their patio area to enjoy the beautiful weather and from the first taste of the ham and cheese croissant, I was sold! The croissant was so light and flaky with a hint of sweet butter on the top and the right amount of ham and cheese meshed together in perfect gooeyness. I absolutely loved it! I took a sip of the freshly squeezed orange juice and I do not know where they get the oranges from, I can tell you that I have never had orange juice as delicious as that. I did eat the quiche a little later and the pie crust was so flaky and the quiche itself had tomatoes, spinach, cheese, and it was amazing. The food here is definitely something you should try if you're in the area because I do not think you'll be disappointed. They also have coffee, cold pressed juices, ice cream that's 50% one scoop for kiddos 12 and under, sandwiches, and pizza. I live just steps away and come in here all the time for their salted caramel latte. The coffee is always hot and has a strong flavoring. The girl who takes my order is so sweet and always remembers what I like. They have a tempting selection of fresh pastries. Until the other day I didn't cave into trying anything. The blueberry scone was calling my name and I just could not refuse it. This scone was soft, light and fluffy and bursting with blueberries! This scone (and most of the other baked goods) was HUGE. I was just about licking the plate so I could savor every crumb. Now I'm thinking about it all the time and has ruined me from any other scones. In addition to pastries and coffee they also have pizza, salads, sandwiches and ice cream. The pizza is delicious and slices are thinly crusted and again huge. One slice fills me up. It can get busy on the weekends or when an event is going on. There is limited seating inside, however there is plenty of seating outside. Excellent place!!! Visited the restaurant on a Sunday (June 22), around 3:00 or 4:00 p.m., had to use the valet parking. We (three customers) ordered a salmon salad, a hamburguer, chicken sandwich, tiramisu and coffee with milk (they had almond milk). Also bought plain croissants, to go. The servings were generous, the service was great and the food was delicious. The only thing that was not as good as the rest of the food was the chicken in the chicken sandwich, just a bit dry. read more

We also ordered the chocolate hazelnut mousse cake which was a bit rich and cappuccinos to warm us up and make us happy in the evening. Service was alright. Got in at the right time before the long line. It's kind of a disarray, but It was understandable. There's a few bar seats looking out the window, but mostly outside seating. We had lunch at the restaurant and wanted to take something home from the bakery to enjoy later in the day. I must say that I thought there would be a bigger variety. The scones are full of blueberries and have so much flavor but aren't too sweet. The cinnamon rolls are the best cinnamon rolls I've had anywhere. Very flaky, lots of cinnamon and a delicious creamy frosting. My advice is to arrive before 9:00am on Saturdays because many bike riders arrive in large groups and the line can get quit long. I think this place gets more stars than it deserves because it's in a "hip" part of town. Oooh, they're in the "Sundial" area...WHO CARES!? First off, when you go in, there's an employee standing at either end of the store looking like they're ready to take your order, which sounds great until you realize there's no clear direction on which side you actually order from, so you just have to feel stupid and ask. Secondly, they had the menu right above the people on the side of the store we were on, but no list of ice cream flavors-those were on the other side of the store where the other employee was standing. So we got to ask yet another stupid question, to which they replied "we have all the flavors". Like what the hell does that mean?! You have ALL THE FLAVORS!? Come to find out they had about 8-10flavors! "ALL THE FLAVORS" definitely means you have more than that. Heres a tip-make sure to have ALL THE INFORMATION in the same area so patrons can see it and read it for themselves instead of having to ask stupid questions. Organize your store Cassis. The ice cream was good, so at least there was that. One scoop of coffee, two scoops of chocolate, and a whole bowl full of confusion & condescendence free of charge. We went looking for a coffee spot and found this! The folks working here were so friendly and pleasant! As we waited in line, my eye was drawn to the croissants. In full disclosure, I'm not usually one to order croissants as they have been mass produced by big box stores and reduced to a fairly inoffensive alternative to a bread for use with Chicken Salad! But these are the real deal! Flaky, tender, so much flavor. I went all in and ordered the Chocolate Croissant, wonderful! Oh and the coffee (an Iced Mocha, because it was about 80 degrees!) was good too but it got completely overlooked by my pastry! I had a flourless chocolate cake and the daily latte choice which was Rose water latte and I have only enjoyed every part of it. The cake was rich and the texture was perfect. This is a great place to pop in for a coffee or French pastry. My friend and I shared an egg and cheese croissant which had flakey and buttery pastry. We each had lattes. I had an iced decaf hazelnut latte and she had a hot vanilla latte. What she got was an iced vanilla latte. It was a hot day, it was a fine switch-up, but not what was ordered. There is street parking just across for $1.50 an hour, maximum of 2 hours. We got there around 9:30 on a Saturday with no problems. My party was recommended cassis market by a family friend so we decided to check it out while in st Pete. Overall it was not the most wonderful experience. We ordered a whole cheese pizza and a tirimisu. While the tirimisu was excellent the pizza took about an hour, they said there would be a 20 to 30 minute wait for the pizza which seemed very reasonable as they were making it almost from scratch, but after 25 minutes someone went to ask about our pizza and they said it wasn't ready yet. I don't like to bug the staff but we were very hungry so about 5 minutes later we asked again, they again said it was still in the oven. Roughly 25 minutes after that we finally got our pizza, our theory is that they forgot to put it in the oven originally and only put it in when we asked about it. read more
