    Turkey sandwich
    Andrew S.

We ordered a pizza, chai tea and a turkey sandwich. For the good: the location is spot on. For the bad: pretty much everything else. The pizza may have been the worst slice of pizza I have had in the last decade. It should have been thrown out hours earlier, but they sold it to us anyways. The tea was served so hot and was bitter. The person making the drinks didn't k ow what they were doing, and it shows. This is on management/ I'm sure somebody called out sick and this person was clearly not trained. The result is a $6 drink that was not drinkable. The turkey sandwich was very good, and is the only reason this isn't one star. I wish the house made chips were less salty as they were not enjoyable. All in all, I would bypass this place at all costs if there is a line. Pastries looked great- if you just went for a dessert, I think you would be happy.

Best croissant I've ever had my life I got the chocolate croissant and my husband got the ham and cheese croissant. The store is spotless. Lots of drinks to choose from including cold pressed juice and sparkling water which we were excited about. Ate & left no crumbs. Perfection.

They were the only cool treat place open that I could tell. I already had early dinner and this is all fine dining down here. Abandoned my signature chocolate chip cookie. Sadly I ate two already today. Just went full charge for the brownie since it was recommended ugh. Not a good day for my waistline, or two days now, not sure what happened this vacation but something in my brain better quit asking for sugar is all. Its only ok to be honest. Its heavy cocoa tasting. Anyhow this is the only reasonably priced spot too. I'm not getting seven dollar ice cream or milkshakes no sir.

Awesome for morning pastries and people watching on the weekend! I had walked by dozens of times but hadn't stopped by during the morning, since I'd usually be in this area around dinner time and pop into Cassis for a cocktail. Adding this to my morning rotation.

We came here for the half price pizzas and wine on Wednesday night and we'll definitely want to come back the next time we're in the area on a Wednesday. The pizza is unique so you won't find your basic cheese or pepperoni slices on the menu but do not fear they are absolutely delicious! We sat at the bar and consistently had great service throughout the night. Also for how fancy the restaurants ambiance appears we didn't spend as much as we thought we would (well it was the half price night after all).

Sooooo this place was amazing! I was in St. Petersburg visiting with some friends and one of them kept saying that we could not leave without getting a croissant from this place. I mean like she said it at least 5 times in a matter of hours so I was like yeah, okay, we'll go but didn't really understand why she was soooo dead set on coming here for a croissant. We finally made our way here right around 10:30 on a Sunday morning and entering the market I thought of this place is cute (a little Parisian flair) and whatever they were making smelled absolutely delicious. There was a bit of a line to order but it wasn't too bad and by the time I got to the register I was set on the ham and cheese croissant ($7), veggie quiche ($8), oatmeal raisin cookie ($2.75), and orange juice ($6.50). While I did see all sorts of goodies in the display case (chocolates, tarts, cheesecake, macarons, pastries) I knew what I picked was a decent choice. We sat outside on their patio area to enjoy the beautiful weather and from the first taste of the ham and cheese croissant, I was sold! The croissant was so light and flaky with a hint of sweet butter on the top and the right amount of ham and cheese meshed together in perfect gooeyness. I absolutely loved it! I took a sip of the freshly squeezed orange juice and I do not know where they get the oranges from, I can tell you that I have never had orange juice as delicious as that. I did eat the quiche a little later and the pie crust was so flaky and the quiche itself had tomatoes, spinach, cheese, and it was amazing. The food here is definitely something you should try if you're in the area because I do not think you'll be disappointed. They also have coffee, cold pressed juices, ice cream that's 50% one scoop for kiddos 12 and under, sandwiches, and pizza. I mean I'm sure you could find something but those croissants...something made with magic!

    Great Little Spot

Great spot. Pricey, but awesome. They now have not only pastries, but pizzas, pressed sandwiches, the best coffee in the area, fresh-pressed juices, ciders, beers and wines. It's a counter and gets busy in the evenings. It's a very nice location, with outdoor tables and view of the pier.

My dessert was delicious! The service was quick and good, and the atmosphere is nice, although there is nowhere to sit inside.

We were too late for the the raisin roll but the orange cinnamon roll did not disappoint! was extremely impressed with variety of baked goods. Their ham and Swiss croissant was tasty and a good savory option thats not to filling. They also offered different type of coffee/ milk options which is refreshing for a family with different taste buds. Will most likely be back whenever we revisit the dali museum- perfect breakfast before heading to see some art!

I can't believe I've never been here before. Thanks to my friend Alyssa who just ordered from here the day before, I followed in her footsteps and had to get that strawberry velvet! We also ordered the chocolate hazelnut mousse cake which was a bit rich and cappuccinos to warm us up and make us happy in the evening. Service was alright. Got in at the right time before the long line. It's kind of a disarray, but It was understandable. There's a few bar seats looking out the window, but mostly outside seating. It's a a cute little bakery that also serves coffee, tea, and hot chocolate and has breads, cakes, macarons. Check them out! It's a nice spot in downtown St. Pete on Beach Drive. Prices are not too bad considering the area either. We were happy!!

I arrived around 2:20 p.m. and was let in by a worker at the front door, who told me they were closing shortly and suggested I head to the deli first if that was what I wanted. Once I walked in, however, a cashier yelled to me that they were closed. I was a little confused because I had just been let in by a worker who knew I was coming inside. From there, the experience felt a bit chaotic. There were quite a few people in the store, and I felt like the workers were very displeased by my presence. I honestly felt like I was a bother. I completely understand that I arrived close to closing, so I tried to be respectful of their time and rushed through the store to grab a few items. I had driven an hour to get there, so I wanted to at least make the most of the trip. When I went to check out, I initially got in one line, and the cashier was finishing up with the customer already there and directed me to another line, so I followed her instructions. I had a basket with my items and wasn't sure if I was supposed to empty it myself. There wasn't an obvious place to leave the empty basket, and the cashier never indicated that she would take it from me. I apologized and explained that it was my first time there. She told me that next time I should come during the week so I could browse more. As I was leaving, I noticed so many people trying to enter the store and being turned away because it was now past closing. That made me think Mazzaro's may want to reconsider its Saturday hours. They are clearly a very popular and well-known store, yet being open from only 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays and being closed on Sundays makes it difficult for people who work typical Monday-Friday, full-time hours to visit. I take responsibility for not checking the hours before making the drive, and I understand that the employees were probably ready to go home. However, I still think there is a difference between enforcing closing time and making a customer feel unwelcome. Unfortunately, I did not feel warmly greeted or welcomed during my visit, and it put a damper on the entire experience.

To start, Maddie's Cakes indicated that it opened at 5pm, leading us to believe that it serviced the late-night coffee-and-pastries crowd. Baked in the Burg opens at 10am and closes at 7pm, and has a very different vibe than what we were expecting. The pastries are definitely meant to be the star of the show, but they were mislabeled (labeled as chocolate pistachio but only chocolate was available), and the baristas knew very little about the product. Speaking of the baristas, although they were very friendly, they clearly were woefully lacking in training. I ordered a chai tea, and one of the baristas asked the other, "Do you know how to make that?" Additionally, my mom ordered a coffee, and when she asked if the brew coffee sitting on the hot plate was fresh, the barista answered, "It was made this morning [seven hours prior to our visit], but it's been on the hot plate." My mom had to ask for a fresh pot to be made, because apparently no one told these poor girls how disgusting coffee is after seven hours on a hot plate. To their credit, though, they were extremely friendly and accommodating, and did their best to answer all of our questions. I just think they need more training. As far as the pastries are concerned, we were so disappointed that we ended up going to Sorrento Sweets right up the street. Skip Baked in the Burg and head to Sorrento's if you want a high-quality bakery experience.
