Nice spot that seemed popular - service was a bit slow since it seemed our server was the only one working. The Indian food here feels a little lighter (less rich) to me than other places, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I expected my korma to be creamier but it seemed more watery. The spice level also wasn't too bad - medium had a very light heat and spicy just technically met the spicy threshold. The dishes also come with rice. The vegetable samosa was good with flavorful filling. The masala tea was really spiced and creamy but not sweetened (still good!). We also enjoyed the mango lassi, which has a more prominent mango taste (rather than yogurt) and was thinner than some lassis we've had. The gulab jamun only came with 2 pieces which was surprising. It was fine but I'd pass next time for the cost. Would like to come back to try the dosa and biryani. read more

Firstly, the food: Food was flavorful, and there was lots of options to choose from. Great variety of proteins, vegetables, sauces, and drinks. Speaking of drinks, this was the best Mango Lassi I've had in a while. If you don't know what lassi is, it's a traditional mango drink from India that has the consistency of Kefir. Very good. Secondly, the service: Waiters were very respectful and welcoming. Not much else to say, it was a good experience. Ambiance wise, it's a small little spot in downtown Woburn. Interior is nice, clean, and not cluttered. The food is the most important, and if the food is good, the interior shouldn't matter. And that is the case with this joint. 5/5. I love well prepared Indian food, of which there are many different preparations. I went with an old standby, chicken Tikka Masala, garlic naan and rice. I have eaten these dishes many, many times. The naan and rice were excellent, well prepared. Unfortunately, the chicken masala was a disappointment. Traditionally the chicken is prepared in a tandoor, fundamentally tandoori chicken. In this case, the chicken was tasteless cubes, obviously not prepared in a tandoor, but was by prepared by a short cut that robbed it of the essence of the dish. The chicken did also not take on the taste of the masala. I thought the masala itself lacked the richness and creaminess I have come to enjoy. Is this just a local/regional variant, that does not mesh with my taste? Perhaps. Nonetheless I will probably not return. On another note the staff was friendly and attentive. This is a cozy, small Indian restaurant lined along Woburn downtown. My friend and I went during dinner time and it was on the quieter side. The server was nice and the service was great. We ordered Lamb Samosas, Naan, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Paneer Saagwala. I've never had lamb samosas before and this was delicious. Their samosas were huge! The samosa filling was seasoned really well and was loaded. The exterior had the perfect crunch to it. The curries were creamy and filled with so much flavor. The naan was delicious and soft with a slight crispiness to it. Overall, I really enjoyed the food. It was delicious and I'd definitely come back again if I am visiting the area. read more

Now I ordered from a delivery service and for what I received I think it was very expensive. The restaurant itself is a much better option. They have nice staff and the portions are better it seems. Zaika is the only one I have been to that I've wanted to go back to - even though it's a bit of a drive for me it's now the only Indian restaurant I frequently visit. I was driving through the area and saw this place had great ratings, so decided to take a chance on takeout. I think the food was average. It's always a little odd when you walk into a restaurant on a Saturday night and there is only one table seated. The positives are that the portions are very large compared to some other Indian restaurants. The downside is that the food is meh. The tamarind sauce was extremely watered down, and the naan was not that good. The veggie entrees were ok. Review based on takeout. Ordered samosas, masala dosa, okra and aloo paratha. The batter used for the dosa may not have been fresh, it had almost a chewy texture instead of the crisp crepe (even for takeout from other restaurants). The sambar that accompanied it was heavily watered down with very small pieces of cauliflower floating on top. The paratha similarly had a flat texture and not as flaky as expected. Zaika is a small but engaging Indian Restaurant. The menu is the usual suspects, but I had my standby chicken vindaloo, which was appropriately spicy and contained substantially more chicken than most other Indian restaurants. My wife had lamb korma, which she said was delicious. A little garlic naan, and you are all set. Added bonus: Visit the terrific Persian market next door after dinner for some authentic treats. read more

I've tried several items from Zaika, and my favorites are the shahi paneer and bhindi masala. The flavors are complex and robust, and though I usually order meat dishes, these vegetarian dishes have incredible flavor. Recently moved to Woburn and was craving Indian food. Had been meaning to check this place out for awhile. Ordered online for pick up through Uber Eats, and it was ready in under 15 minutes. Ordered a chicken tikka masala curry and garlic naan. Wasn't sure by the menu if it included rice or not, so I called and a friendly voice picked up right away and assured me rice was included. They also included a green chutney, tamarind chutney, and achaar (pickled onions) along with papadums (paper-thin crackers). Serving size was about two meals for me, but if I were really hungry, I could have probably eaten the whole thing. Satisfied my craving, and will definitely be going again! Paid about $20 for 2 meals, so that works for my budget. Only reason it didn't get the extra star was because I have a favorite Indian restaurant in Cambridge that I love haha read more

I have been on a look out for some good North Indian food around Boston. Looks like Zaika is the place I was looking for all this time. The food is delicious. I highly recommend the lunch buffet. The appetizers and chat section had a lot of variety with tasty chutneys, pani Puri, dahi bhalla, salad and raita. They had 4 vegetarian and 4 non vegetarian entrees each with a choice of Garlic Nan, Plain Nan, Butter Nan or rice. The taste of paani puri and dahi bhalla took me back to Delhi.
