I'd say this is the best halal on 25 after having taken out from all of them. Ordered the combo platter. Added bacon and cheese to mine. They do take some time which is something to plan ahead for but aside from this nothing stood out. Menu/Price - $8-$10 range. Street meat platters. They have some sandwiches and things too all sub $10. Food - quantity is good salad is fresh. It's Halal, as long as the portions and the meat are fresh, it's good in my book. They offer the same salad selection as Shah's down the road (based on the selection earlier this summer). I would recommend asking for their signature sauce, which is pretty hot but I enjoy it. You can sample it if you ask. Service - Local food joint, they follow any guidelines needed for takeout (as of 2020) and overall are good people. Actually one of the better casual halal spots in the area. They let you stack as many sauces and toppings as you want and their lamb/chicken is tender and yummy. Always feels like the ingredients are fresher than some of their competitors; fluffy, crunchy lettuce, meat is always moist and their veggies have a nice crunch. The rice is never tough and for the price it's such a steal because they pack their plates. If you're looking for a good spot to order from/get halal at, consider going here. Greetings Yelpers, Ok another Halal take-away in Selden replacing N.Y. Gyro ( which I've never patronized) Owner was friendly & welcoming but did lack what I consider to be proper PPE for a food service venue. I will not compare Zaiqa to Shah's as cuisine is similar but regional differences. I ordered a Lamb/chicken Combo over rice which is post grilled in front of you in the open cooking station. Toppings especially the fresh grilled peppers & onions were +++ . Unlike Shah's. I found the lamb to be more like (Chapli) mutton than actual lamb to be tough & grizzly. Sauces were ok nothing out of the ordinary. Better dessert choices than Shah's although they are store bought except for the rice pudding which the owner told me is made in house. I would consider another visit but I'd probably pass on a combo. read more

Before I tried this place, I'd been going to Shah's for a while. Shah's is good and cheap and I like it. But Zaiqa has better quality, you can just tell. I find that they're more flavorful in their rice, falafel, lamb, and green sauce. The owner cooks the lamb to order, too. I like coming here and waiting those few extra minutes to know that the meat is fresh. My only recommendation to the owner would be to add hummus to the the toppings. Shah's, Hamza & Madina. And now we have another halal place in the centereach selden area. They are popping up everywhere! I came here, and unfortunately i had to wait 15 minutes to get my order in. Which is not horrible considering the group of 10 ahead of me. The place was very similarly built to the previous establishment that was here before (ny gyro and grill i believe?) food was a little bit different. In the previous establishment their food was very dry, overcooked, and old. The food that i got on my visit was actually pretty okay. The food was cheap and abundant. What halal food represented in NYC in the early days. Mad it easy for college students to survive. It was someone tasty. The rice was lacking some spice and savoriness when compared to shahs or hamza/madina. Lots of toppings to choose from, and did i say value? Definitely worth a shot if you're on a budget and want to save a buck or two. read more

This place is AMAZING! It is rare to find a Halal Food place that serves you fresh food cooked to order. We have been there twice and each time, they freshly cook the falafel, Chapli Kabab and Fried Chicken. Their falafel and chicken is not frozen and the owner confirmed that his idea/philosophy is to cook fresh food. The prices are super cheap. The place isnt big for seating (more like a Take-Out. Great hole in the wall spot that's easily missed driving on Middle Country Road and I wish more people knew about it. The quality and authenticity of the food is definitely a grade above Shah's Halal down the road (in my opinion) for the same price. Today I tried Zaiqa for the first time, I ordered the Lamb Gyro for lunch. It was prepared fresh (not frozen!) in an open style kitchen, which was nice because I got to speak to the gentleman making my food, he was very nice and passionate about his cooking. My food was served hot, the serving size was very generous, the lamb was so tender and perfectly seasoned, the white sauce was amazing, everything was perfect, and the price blew me away how affordable. Hands down my new favorite spot! When I got home I told my wife and we ended up going back for dinner, she had the chicken and lamb combo over rice and I tried the spicy chicken sandwich both amazing, jumbo shrimp were delicious, the chicken tenders for my son were so big we will have left overs to enjoy later, perfectly battered, all for the best price around. Definitely our new favorite spot, fresh amazing food, excellent friendly service at a price that is much better then taking the family to Chik Fil A! We will definitely be back! I am a fan of Falafel and several of the spots out here in Suffolk, LI either microwave them, or use pre-packaged mass produced falafel with "stretch" ingredients. I ordered the Falafel gyro at Zaiqa and was pleased. There was a home feel to it and my sauce combo brought the experience home. I only wish they offered Hummus with it but the experience was good.
