I've had Zaki twice. Once from their food truck, and most recently from their location inside Budd Dairy Food Hall. Their menu has the basics -- bowls or sandwiches, as well as some appetizers. I tried "Gyro the Hero," their take on the traditional gyro. It comes with lamb & beef, lettuce, cucumber, onion, tomato, banana pepper and tzatziki sauce. The wrap wasn't what I think of as a traditional pita, instead it was much thinner, almost like a tortilla. The gyro was pretty good, but extremely greasy which made it quite messy. I also got a side of fries ($5), and they were pretty disappointing -- very bland and a small portion for the price. Overall, I think 3 stars fits the bill for Zaki. read more

I was able to try Zaki grill while at Seventh Son brewery, and it was so good, I didn't even get to capture a picture!! It was so convenient to order from the street food finder website, and they texted me when my food was ready so I didn't have to wait outside in the cold. Food was ready pretty fast and packaged perfectly. I tried the gyro bowl and the baba dip with pita. It's a really good amount of food for the price, I wasn't able to finish my gyro bowl (but definitely saved it for later). It includes a hefty amount of gyro meat, rice, lettuce, banana peppers, tomatoes, and a side of sauce. The tzatziki was so good, I really wish I had more of it for my bowl! I ordered extra tzatziki sauce based on other reviews and while it definitely was a good amount it could have been dispersed a little better. I found another good food truck. It sometimes is hard to find. Zaki Grill is usually located outside office buildings, so it bounces around a lot. It has a good variety of items. They also take care of many dietary restrictions. I had my favorite Middle Eastern item, falafel. It comes in a pita or a salad. The pita is about $7 so it's good compared to other trucks. It has lots of vegetables and not just onions and tomatoes like most cheap places. There's also a lot of other sandwiches. Everything in here is certified halal. This gets lots of customers who are Muslim, so if that scares you don't go. They are doing good without you. read more

I was in a hurry between working out, grocery shopping, work, and finally the virtual Yelp event, I needed something to grab quickly for dinner and this was located in my neighborhood. So glad I got the opportunity to try Zaki during my recent visit to Columbus! It was SO GOOD that we had it TWICE during our short weekend trip. We got the gyros and the Zaki fries, and were blown away! I personally didn't have much of the gyro because I was completely focused on the fries. The Zaki fries are topped with garlic sauce, banana peppers, and feta cheese. Basically just pure goodness. I am drooling just thinking about them right now. This food truck frequents my office building and I decided to give it a try today. I ordered the chicken bowl and it was VERY good. Tender chunks of chicken, flavorful rice and a bright salad on the side. The garlic sauce came on the side and was barely needed because the food had so much flavor on its own! The salad did have a vinegarette on it that was a bit vinegar forward - but when mixed with the chicken and rice it was perfect.
