We ordered pans of food for 9 people for carryout. I picked it up and the guy at the counter assurred me all was in the bags. I got home and we were missing a pan of greek salad ($40). We live 30 minutes from the restaurant and so I had to drive back to get it - spent an extra hour and missed most of the meal with our family. I called driving back and did not even receive a "sorry." When I picked up the missing salad again the cocky guy at the counter did not even bother to say he was sorry. The food was average, lacked accompiments like peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, etc. This was a terrible meal and I strongly recommend you not get a meal here. read more

I read my old review of Mezze and found that every word I wrote, still stands. We had drifted away to other middle eastern restaurants over the years, but decided to return when we hankered for those flavors at lunch recently and it was nearby. If possible, it has improved! Some errands brought me to this side of town and yelp led me to Mezze as a well reviewed fast casual restaurant. The employees were nice and helped explain some of their items. It works similarly to chipotle where you choose a meat, sides, etc. and basically build your own bowl. I got the gyro and they slice and grill it up for the bowl which was nice. I also got some fries cause I can't resist french fries. They had a mezze sauce which was great and I wish I got some extra to go with, well, everything. I ordered chicken schwarma with medium spiciness. I ordered the house dressing. The pita was good. The portion was plentiful. I don't know if the chicken was to spicy for what I like on salads. Unassuming little spot tucked in the corner of the complex but has 4.5 stars and I'm a sucker for Mediterranean food so had to stop in. It's a unique concept where you pick a "base" of either pita, salad or hummus and then add protein, toppings, heat level (or not) and sauce. I picked hummus base with chicken swarma and all the toppings, house sauce and comes with pita. It was built quickly by staff and came out as a FULL to go box worth of food. There used to be a Mezze near my house in Upper Arlington, but that one went out of business a few years ago. Finally got to try out the Mezze in Gahanna recently since we were visiting friends in the area. I love that you can make a bowl with a base of hummus, tabouli, salad, or rice. My favorite is the tabouli and my wife likes their rice. Their portions are generous so 3 bowls can feed my family of 5. One of the few things better than warm, perfectly baked pita dipped in house made Tzatziki sauce is an amazing gyro (or Greek salad!) to pair it with. I am so glad I finally had the opportunity to try Mezze. I've seen the great reviews but now can speak from experience and confidently say that you will not be disappointed. I loved the atmosphere in the restaurant, which I believe was due to Julian, being so pleasant and upbeat. He has such a great spirit and made sure to check in with us during our meal to ensure that our first visit was exceptional. There were quite a few regulars at the restaurant as well, which I noticed by Julian addressing them by name and asking them how they'd been. Loyal customers is always a good sign! So the food - amazing! I ordered the Greek salad which came with pita bread. The portions are huge. The gyro meat was tender and seasoned perfectly. I love that they weren't stingy with the salad toppings either - this is a complaint I typically have when ordering from other similar restaurants but I was very pleased at Mezze. He chose beef/lamb gyro meat for his protein option, medium spice ($1), all the toppings, mujadara rice ($1.50), spicy hummus ($1.50), & mezze sauce. Pita was included. So many solid Mediterrenean restaurants on this stretch of Hamilton, but Mezze is my favorite. I usually get a 50/50 rice bowl or salad with lotsa veggies, hummus added and whatever protein I'm feeling that day. It may seem a bit pricey, but I doubt I've ever finished a huge bowl here in one sitting, so it's worth it. Yesterday I went to Mezze for the first time for dinner. We arrived around 7 pm and ordered our meals for dine in. I was not sure what to expect as I had recently been to another mediterranean restaurant and it was a seated restaurant, this one is not. You can order them sit at one of the few tables available due to Covid. You order your meal standing up like Chipotle, you can either get a pita, rice bowl, salad or other choices. I got a pita with falafel and many many toppings. I highly recommend their house dressing as it was perfection. I got a side of hummus as well as every falafel needs some hummus and I was impressed. I'm always on the hunt for good Mediterranean food, and I am so glad I've finally found a go-to in Columbus! Everything I have tried from Mezze has been excellent. My typical go-to order from when I am craving Mediterranean is chicken shawarma wrap (traditional style with garlic sauce and pickles - not a gyro), grape leaves, hummus, and sometimes fries. Unfortunately I have had a really hard time finding a restaurant in Columbus that has all of these things in one place, (surprising right?!) I'm happy to say Mezze has them all, and they are all super delicious! I also recommend their house sauce for dipping so good for everything! This place goes above and beyond! Super happy. The food is fresh and the hummus and falafels both have a great flavor. Ordered the mudajara rice bowls with just hummus and spicy tahini as the sauce. We are vegan and thought we had left off everything in our order that we can't have. Received a note from the restaurant which I uploaded. They just wanted to make sure the sauce was on the side in case we were vegan (which we did not specify) and they let us know which sauces were and were not vegan. Such amazing customer service!! Visiting later in the day gave me the option of visiting Mezze as well. Clearly not the first to be drawn in by subtle smells of tahini and gyro meat. The owner was so laid back and cool, he answered any of our questions and even allowed us to try some of the sauces or add-ones before we ordered. That's a plus- especially when we had a big group. He asked us what we liked and didn't, and help make recommendations based on that- and there were even more samples :) Gotta say that the gyros were on point! My wife is Greek (grew up in Athens) and I served 2 years in the Army on Crete- I have a good quality base to judge from. Fresh and authentic tasting. I tried the schwarma, taking a cue from the first Avengers where Tony Stark takes the whole team for some post-credits schwarma. Stopped by on a Saturday night and had the dining room all to ourselves. Lots of Carryout orders coming in though. The Mediterranean version of Chipotle, but better in my opinion because the meat is made to order. I got my chicken shawarma spicy and my kid ordered her grilled chicken "mild" (I have no idea why, I don't think she thought it out, lol). The tzatziki sauce was really thick, loved it. I also enjoyed mixing the two rice blends. Next time I want to try the hummus meal. We also ordered a small baba ganough which was nice and smoky flavored. All in all the portions were so large we both had to take half to go. They were really friendly, explaining the menu to us and helping us make decisions when we were stumped. Lately I have been traveling to New Albany for work and I have been trying new places. This place amazed me with their gyro plate. It was rich is flavor and had a nice kick to it. Sandra took my order and she was the sweetest person ever. She explained the menu and prepared my food in 5 min. Last time I had such a nice greek food was when I was still in Cyprus.
