Whenever we have family or friends visiting from out of state or overseas, it's one of our favorite activities because it's a relaxing way to see the Port of Long Beach, the Queen Mary, and, if you're lucky, the sea lions. We brought another group yesterday, and everyone enjoyed the tour. The only downside, in my opinion, is the boats used for the harbor tour. Yesterday we were on the Kristina, and in the past we've also been on the Caroline, which we chartered for my mother's ash-scattering ceremony about 14 years ago. Both vessels are showing their age. I also think the marketing could be clearer. The photos on the website and many travel sites prominently feature the newer catamarans, which gives the impression that those are the boats used for the harbor tour. I actually called ahead to ask and learned that the harbor tours use different vessels. While I appreciated getting the correct information, many first-time visitors probably wouldn't think to ask and may expect the newer boats shown in the advertising. The harbor tour itself is still worthwhile, and we'll likely continue bringing our guests because we genuinely enjoy the experience. I just hope Harbor Breeze considers updating or refurbishing the harbor tour vessels and making the marketing a little clearer so guests know exactly what to expect.

There was a lot of people in line. I was in the middle and thought I wouldn't get good seats, but I ended up sitting outside in the front. The boat is really nice and big. The front is the best place to sit with a good view of the whales and dolphins. The inside was packed and you don't really see a lot and sitting outside in the back you could smell the fumes from the engine. I did see dolphins and whales - the mom and the calf. They had a couple of experts talk about the whales and dolphins. We were past Newport Beach when we finally saw the whales. We spent a good amount of time seeing them. Then we went back. It's gets windy. It was a fun experience.

Our group was 4 adults, 4 kids, and our dog and everyone had a blast. I had done one of those regular glass bottom boats before and it was honestly boring. This one is way different. The boat has two levels. You start on the top deck cruising King Harbor where you get to see sea lions, and then go downstairs into this cozy underwater room with huge windows on both sides. You can sit right next to the glass and watch fish swim by like you're in a tiny underwater aquarium Captain Erik was amazing. He was hilarious, super interactive, and thoughtful. He noticed when one of my friends didn't have a jacket and made sure she wasn't too cold, let the kids try on the captain's hat, and somehow made everyone on board, including a few strangers, feel included. The sunset was beautiful, the ride was smooth and easy for kids and dogs, and it was way better than we expected. If you're in the South Bay and think you know what a glass bottom tour is, this one will surprise you. I get TERRIBLE seasickness and I did not feel sick for a second! Very knowledgeable about everything LA even the history . He knew something about everything . Plants , trees , buildings , where stars lived , gee wiz things, even things about the other guests states they were from . Everything !! Too much too list . He enjoyed his job . We did not have a vibrant bus but that didn't stop his overall enthusiasm and motivation . I hope everyone have him a tip. He earned every bit of it . We did the self guided tour and spent time absorbing the videos and explanations posted throughout. The volunteers were more than happy to answer questions and provide additional information. Seeing how the 16 inch guns operated especially sustaining the rate of fire they did was unbelievable. I came away with a new level of respect for those sailors. There is a lot of history here and is worth taking the time to learn and share it.

Porsche pointed out the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Hollywood that she attended. She gave us pointers on how to shop at farmers' markets and buying produce and allowed us a few minutes of free time to shop on our own. Once back at EATZ, where Porsche is also a cooking instructor, we had Mimosas and snacked on baguette slices and very fresh goat cheese in olive oil that she purchased from the market. We began with the panne cotta - yes, life is uncertain, start with the dessert!! This dish needed time to set. We prepared the fresh beautiful strawberries for the dessert as well. Each team of 2 had their own cooking station and burner. Just perfect for all of us. We made the pasta with basil and set it aside to soften. We worked on the roasted tomatoes with garlic and then the stuffed mushrooms with spinach, shallots, garlic and cream cheese, sprinkled with bread crumbs. We began the meat sauce and when the roasted tomatoes were ready, Porsche pulsated them in a food processor and added it to our meat sauce. Our workout began as we rolled out our pasta. Yes, that was definitely a workout, but so rewarding. We all got the technique down. We learned the correct thickness of the pasta and how to cut and separate them before cooking. Definitely a good appreciation for handmade pasta!! We were then treated to a delicious meal of our own creation!! Devine!! Porsche will be emailing all the recipes after the class. My daughter and I highly recommend take a great afternoon with Porsche and taking her class. She has several menus to select from and we will definitely return in the future!! Our tour started off at Bunz Gourmet Burgers ( small mom and pops shop) fantastic burger. Will have to come back for more. We went to Cuban restaurant called Punto Cubano with great character and decor. There we had a cuban sandwich that was amazing. Obviously there's other stuff in the menu that you are more than welcome to order at your own cost. We had a delicious flan :-) we had a few stops in between and learned about the San Pedro Port history and other spots. We then hit The Whale and Ale (English pub) for some delicious fish and chips. Alcohol not included in the tour but available for purchase. I couldn't help myself so I had a guinness. We then went over to Hojas for some delicious chai tea that hit the right spot. Hard to pick a favorite as everything was very very good, and if I may add the food portions are just right. Enough to leave you stuffed. Overall the tour was fantastic. We were spoiled and treated like VIPs throughout. Highlights include: Temples - so many Buddhist temples, beautiful and unique. Elephant sanctuary - A highlight! Up close and personal with these majestic creatures. We walked with them, made and fed them medicinal treats. Tuk Tuk tour - a VIP tour of the streets of Chang Mai. So fun and enjoyable. Hotels resorts - beautiful, elegant and top service including massages and buffet breakfasts. Food - Supera goes out of their way to handpick local specialties that most tourists don't know about. The food was unique and delicious. A real treat. Transportation - buses, longboats, flights - all handled for us, including all luggage transfers. Our tour guide Betty Tsai. What a pro! She's the perfect mix of organization and keeping it fun. Her attention to detail kept us moving smoothly through the trip. She even managed to work with the Mandarin Oriental to get me a personal item I accidentally left at the hotel after checkout. Ms A - so cute, with excellent knowledge of Thai culture and history. The instructions to get there can look a bit complicated bc there's just so much info? but literally you can just find the meetup spot on Google Maps now if you look up 'Rowher Flat OHV'. Maybe bc it wasn't on there before, but the page gives you very detailed instructions, even a video to guide you how to get there. Past Santa Clarita and into the mountains! You'll eventually go off roading and fair warning, it is quite bumpy. Low profile vehicles aren't recommended, and you'll see why lol. I also brought my tesla model 3 here while everyone else I passed by was in a bigger SUV vehicle car. I wanted to be careful and drive slower on the road haha and luckily the road was not busy at all! After making it up to the meetup spot, it's definitely a very quiet and peaceful area. It's nice to experience away from the busy city life. We were on time to our tour, but we wanted to make it out earlier since there was some time needed for prep. Our tour guide, Sagi (?), was super chill and a cool guy! I had no ATV experience whatsoever but I am so thankful for having him to guide us haha. During the ATV ride, we did request a "beginner/easy" path, but the route he took us was actually pretty challenging lol but very fun! It was basically like an obstacle course, but good mix of flat, bumps, inclines/declines, roundabouts, and I feel like we got to experience it all within an hour! Weather was also perfect during the time we went as well, just wore long sleeves and a vest. An hour was more than enough for this experience. The tour guide even will make stops for you to take photos! Overall, experience was great and definitely would do this again to explore another area! Prepare for all your clothes to be dusty.
