The good: This was the bougiest meal I had when in Mexico City. They're located in a hotel and I got the breakfast buffet (but you don't need to choose the buffet if you don't want to). The presentation of everything was stupendous. The surroundings and vibe were also great. It felt like you were in a garden oasis nestled amongst trees. The servers were friendly and helpful. There was a fruit bar, chia seed pudding, oatmeal, fruit parfaits, breads, grilled veggies, all sorts of drinks (coffees, hot chocolate, etc), and lunch options available during breakfast. It was definitely upscale and a splurge. I loved the ceramic mugs that the drinks were served in. I also liked the staging of all of the stations and how it was often in traditional Mexican pottery. I was there for Sunday brunch and was entranced by the lush interior courtyard where we dined. I must say that it was packed. Service was immediately available but I had my Spanish speaking son lead me to stations in which they served chicken or seafood -- quite good. Having tried several Four Seasons restaurants across the Americas, I've never been particularly impressed. I often find their dining options to be overpriced, the menu limited, and the food rarely stands out as exceptional. After dining at Zanaya, it aligned with those same standards. I had initially planned to order the Zarandeado Scallops, but they were unavailable that evening. Left with limited seafood options aside from a whole grilled fish, shrimp or various fish stews, I went with the Tuna Tostada. Unfortunately, it was underwhelming--the tuna lacked depth of flavor and tasted basic. TLDR: For the price and quality of food, Zanaya is one to skip. What a wonderful lunch at Zanaya! The restaurant is located in the Four Seasons courtyard, and it's so lush and beautiful. The complimentary tostadas and salsas were the perfect snack, and tuna tostada and shrimp aguachiles were perfect! I would stop by here just for those. The horchata was also so well-balanced and tasty. I was delighted by how much I enjoyed it. My husband had the steak tacos and said they were actually a great proportion for an entree and he ordered the guacamole, which would've been great for a group. His cocktail was pretty and he enjoyed it. The only miss was the octopus which was overcooked and thus tasted rubbery. However, they rectified that and also gave us dessert on the house. The dulce de leche was actually not too sweet and the soursop sorbet it came with was lovely. My husband liked the cheesecake sphere. The service was great. I had a vegetarian enchilada dish for dinner that was a bursting with flavor. The guacamole is plentiful and fresh. They also promise filtered water and ice for those traveling stomachs. If you stay at the hotel (or even if you don't), the morning brunch is worth a visit. They have a huge variety of delicious hot and cold options, including an omelette bar. The ambiance is very calming and simple with an garden motif surrounding you as you eat. It is in the middle of the Four Seasons hotel. The food was delicious. We had the octopus (pulpo) and the chicken (pollo). The octopus was tender and flavorful. You can taste the smoky char to it without it being overwhelming at all. The chicken was amazing. It was juicy and tender with so much flavor. The main dishes were especially good but I will say the tuna tostadas were something else. If you are coming from a more cosmopolitan city with a heavy focus on atmosphere and dining experience like LA and NYC and Miami, it doesn't really hit the mark compared to what people are used to. which is fine as it's Mexico, but for $117 a person not including tip for tacos or quesadillas, and you have to wait in lines to get the food as there isn't full service at the tables, definitely overpriced. Wow this was perhaps THE BEST Tuna I've ever had in my life. I'm still dreaming about how good it was. Seriously. The setting is absolutely gorgeous set inside the courtyard surrounded by beautiful foliage and fountains with the CDMX skyline present in all its glory overhead. This is a must visit if you want a nice romantic or impactful dinner. And trust me, order the Tuna! Firstly the restaurant is located in the Four Season but once you walk in and let the staff know you are here for the restaurant they are very helpful in walking you over to the doors that lead to the courtyard. We went at night but it is beautiful nonetheless, there is a big fountain in the middle and a small seating area that is lit up with a sign, a very "instagram" worthy photo. The food was exceptional our waiter recommended we spilt the marinate and try both since the Pescado Zarandero can come in two different flavor choices. It is more than enough for two people and comes with a side of tortillas, different sauces, lime, and bean empanadas you can make the fish as is or make your own little tacos. We also got the blue corn tortillas chips and the cheese queso which also came with additional tortillas. It is definitely worth the price and visit and a great place to get a few photos in as well. I cannot say enough good things about this place. We found this place on Google and decided to have a try. We walked in through the Four Seasons entrance and was asked if we would like to sit inside or outside. Since we were bringing an infant, we decided to sit inside as smoking is allowed outside (kindly told by our waitress). The outside view was spectacular. The courtyard has beautiful skyline as well as a Christmas tree in the middle. The ambiance was impeccable. Our waiter was super nice and accommodating. We were supplied with crayons and paper for our baby to draw and a kids' menu as well. We ordered so much that I was super full at the end. - Octopus taco: very fresh and delicious - Lobster taco: MUST order - Zucchini blossom cream soup: chef recommended but be aware, there is ant inside :) - Grilled whole fish for four person: it came with 4 quesadilla. You can ask the fish to be cooked in both the spicy way and the natural way with just beer and lemon. I enjoyed the spicy flavor better. It is huge. - Tres de leche cake: it was different from the ones I tried in the States. This one tastes fresher and lighter, not super sweet. I love it. Overrated and overpriced with subpar food and mediocre service. Not what I expect from Four Seasons. We had the six course tasting menu on Christmas Eve and were the first to arrive, because that's just just how I excited I was. Everything went South from the moment we arrived. 1) They offered the wrong menu, only the vegetarian options. 2)The service was poorly structured despite being the only two in he restaurant. 3) We received bent silverware 4) Our food came with mismatched timing, the food portions were not consistent although we both had the same order. This meal cost US$300, that's twice the average of a high-end luxury meal in Mexico City. I recommend checking out the following restaurants instead of Zanaya: Quintonil, Máximo Bistrot, Mercado Meroma, Blanco Colima and Pujol instead. All are half the price of the Four Seasons, better food and 5 star service. read more

I am staying at the Four Seasons and Zanaya, along with Fifty Mils are placed in a beautiful setting. The highlight of Zanaya was definitely the Ahi Tuna tostada. Just freaking delicious and so well balanced with the right amount of citrus, avocado, and mayo. Another honorable mention was the lobster taco, albeit a tad more rich than I think it needed to be. The rest of the food though was unfortunately a bit meh...especially this being my very first meal in Mexico City. The pulpo was not seared very well and when paired with beans in a taco, it just tasted like mush. The lamb tacos while fried just right, was the gamiest lamb I've ever tasted - and I eat alot of lamb. The setting is really, really nice and gives you the "I'm staying at the Four Seasons" feel, but unfortunately I had higher expectations for the non-seafood items. read more

My boyfriend and I ended up at Zanaya on New Year's Eve when we arrived at the Four Seasons only to find their cocktail bar (Fifty Mils) operating holiday hours and not yet open. That evening, Zanaya only offered a 5 course dinner (drinks not included) that was about 180 USD per person. Since it was NYE, our last night in Mexico City, and I was starving we decided to give it a go. PROS -The ambiance was neat with faux-outdoor seating, live music, and NYE accessories at each table that we took with us. -Most of the courses were delicious and the meal wrapped up with a Willie Wonka-esque dessert bar. CONS -Once seated we were immediately forgotten about. Other couples who had been seated at the same time as us had their drink orders taken and were brought their first course while our server hadn't yet appeared. I flagged down a server and asked that we be brought water. We were then approached by the hostess who asked for the menus that described the different courses back. I asked her how the dinner worked, as we still had no water and the couples around us were moving onto their second course, and she had a server sent over to us. -Drinks were not included in the tab and there appeared to be no individual drink menu. We could either pay extra for access to an open bar or share a bottle (the cheapest being about $60), which were fees we hadn't expected on top of the cost of the dinner. -We had quite a few problems with our server once they finally came. We decided to stick with water but had a difficult time communicating that to our server who asked is throughout the meal what we wanted to drink but forgot multiple times when we asked for more water. At the end of each course he would take our utensils but not return with new ones for the next course so a few times we ended up with the food in front of us waiting for him to pass by so we could ask for utensils to eat it. -Although the dessert bar was beautiful and offered a variety of different sweet treats we had to hunt it down ourselves. It was located in a nook outside of the restaurant and I left my belongings on the table to go load my plate. When we returned the hostess and a different server were at our table fretting that we had skipped out on the bill and we had to ask again for utensils because ours table had been cleared while we were at the dessert bar. Perhaps it's because it was NYE and they weren't operating normally, but our experience at Zanaya was awful. When paying almost $200 (tax + tip not included) for a meal one should not have to flag down random servers for water and utensils. While the food was delicious it was by no means the best meal I had while in Mexico City and I was ultimately unimpressed. The only reason they were given 2 stars instead of 1 is because of the NYE accessories that were cute accents to pictures when the clock struck midnight. read more

Went here for Sunday Brunch as the interior courtyard was beautiful. However brunch itself was highly disappointing considering you are paying 1000 pesos. They have multiple food stations but none really stood out as amazing. Service was also extremely lacking for a Four Seasons dining experience. There are many other restaurants nearby that are truly good and where the servers actually make an effort. They need to bring in a professional manager to up the game of this restaurant.
