    Pepperoni pizza

I work in Sharp Chula Vista and we Nurses get hungry so i thought "why not order Pizza?!" I ordered thru Door Dash and the Pizzas came fresh and hooot from the oven. Simple cardboard box with the yumminess of pepperoni pizza and Hawaiian pizzas! So good and i will order from them again!

So this is my usual place to go for pizza, but I'm confused as to why i was charged $7.90 for a sausage pizza. I understand there's a $0.50 charge for using card but the price should've been around 5.45 ish as per usual, unless they added extra sausage ‍ i didn't authorize that. Also, is there new management? Because the usual guy isn't there.

    $5 Cheese Pie - good

Decent $5 pizza spot with strip mall storefront parking. It's best to call in, but walking in is perfectly fine too--the wait is no longer than 7-10 min even when they seem to be busy. Staff are nice and don't ask for payment until your order is ready. Would recommend over the other well-known $5 pizza chain, at least when you need or want a cheap, fast pie in National City.

    Pepperoni pizza!

It's a hole in the wall. There's no seating. There's no delivery. It's 6$ single topping pizza. Half the price of the competitors and it tastes pretty damn good for the value. Get out and pick up a pie because with gas prices skyrocketing and the average cost of other delivery being 14$+ for the same size and toppings, you won't find a better place. Get the word out. Zappy's deserves your business if you live here.

National City. Next to the Carnival supermarket on 8th street. Lots of parking in front. I've got pizza from here a bunch of times. Owner and staff are super cool & friendly. For the price & what you get, hands down the best. $5 pizza's, give it a try & you'll be surprised. :) Calling ahead is best. If you're in the area, I highly recommend giving Zappy Pizza a visit.

My new great-cheap-pizza-when-I'm-visiting-San Diego place! It is bare bones but that helps so you can see that they are making the food with no tricks, no 5-second rules, or anything else. The wings are also put into the pizza machine and come out hot and good! Zappy's is take-out only, so don't show up expecting to sit down and eat. Credit cards are accepted, expect to pay $0.50 for the privilege, or just pay cash on the old barrelhead. The $5 pizza is a one topping large pizza.

I am seriously impressed. I googled some pizza to order that was on the way home and with the right a month of yelp starts I decided to try them. I ordered The Hawaiian style pizza and they said it would be ready in 12 minutes sure enough it was ready for me to pick up and walk straight out the door as soon as I arrived. Not to mention it was extremely tasty. You could tell the cheese is real! I will be back most defiantly!

The pizza was good, thin, and it was nice that they warm it up for you too! I got the machado sub and damn that thing was crispy, massive, and meaty I'd get it again. The spot is definitely small, and don't have many seating. The soda machine is right next to a table that a family was eating at. It was awkward when I was getting soda because I almost touched the homies dome. Lol I'll be back to try some more subs!

I Really Wanted to Love This Pizza…read more After seeing several Facebook videos from this restaurant, my wife and I drove south after church specifically to try their Chicago-style deep-dish pizza. The videos worked--I was genuinely excited. The last Chicago-style pizza I had was at Lefty's in North Park, which was very good, so I was looking forward to trying another local option. Our first impression was excellent. The restaurant looked great, with Chicago memorabilia on one side and San Diego Padres players on the other. It was cool and comfortable inside, and the cashier was exceptionally friendly and attentive. I told her it was our first visit and that their Facebook advertising was exactly what brought us in. We ordered the popular Empire State Meat Lovers deep-dish pizza. The cashier explained that it would take about 25-30 minutes, which was no problem--we expected a proper deep-dish pizza to take some time. With one Coke, the total was $41.30. That seemed a little expensive, but I would have been perfectly happy with the price if the pizza delivered what the videos promised. We requested it in a box because we expected to eat only a slice or two and take the rest home. After about 30 minutes, the cashier brought it to our table with plenty of chili packets and a deep-dish serving utensil. The pizza looked amazing when we opened the box, and it had the size, weight, cheese, and crunch you would expect from a substantial deep-dish pizza. Unfortunately, the flavor did not match its appearance. I first pulled off a piece of crust, but it had very little flavor. The sauce was overwhelmingly salty--so salty that my wife joked that we would have no trouble getting our sodium for the day. I laughed and hoped the rest of the slice would be better. The pizza was served piping hot, the cheese was plentiful, and the crust had a satisfying crunch. However, after several bites, I could not get past the saltiness. Beneath all that salt, the sauce tasted bland, and the dough lacked the rich flavor I expect from a good deep-dish crust. If I am being completely honest, the overall flavor reminded me more of a basic frozen supermarket pizza than a freshly made specialty pizza. I really tried to like it, especially because I had been so excited to come. But I could barely finish one slice. We walked out carrying a very heavy box with only two slices missing, and unless one of our kids eats the leftovers, I honestly have little desire to reheat them. What disappointed me most was not spending $41.30 on a pizza we did not enjoy. It was that I truly wanted to love this place. The Facebook videos showed someone taking tremendous pride in his pizza craft, and I was hoping to find a great Chicago-style restaurant we could return to. I hope this was simply an off day, because the restaurant itself was inviting and the service was excellent. The staff treated us very well, and the pizza had the right appearance and structure--it just fell far short on flavor. My grades for this visit: * Service and atmosphere: A * Appearance and portion size: A * Crust crunchiness: B * Sauce: D * Dough flavor: D Sadly, based on this particular experience, I do not expect we will return. I might consider giving it another chance someday if I knew the owner or pizza maker featured in the Facebook videos was personally preparing the pizzas. I really hope our experience was not representative of what this restaurant usually serves.

Ultra thin sliced meat that nearly made it to the sandwich. The servers excuse was that the sandwiches are premade and they just toast it and add toppings. Oh, so you did this on purpose. I told my wife and said there's more meat in a Lunchable. I'd rather them raise the price than change the product but maybe they'd hope people wouldn't notice. I personally won't be ordering one of those again. I'll just grab a Jersey Mikes next time. Their pizza is still top notch in my book. For now perhaps. Ambiance has always been fun.
