Detroit Godfather slice and NY Bonita White Sauce

Been on the radar for a minute. I finally got to check in today. Victorinos Pizzerias definitely had some great pizzas. I had the Detroit Godfather slice and the NY Bonita white sauce slice. Both were on point. Crispy crust with delicious toppings. Great service and a nice atmosphere. Overall, a great spot for your pizza cravings. I want to return for their sandwich's!

I was excited to see they have Detroit style pizza specials on Tuesday. I do miss their $2.50 slices they had when it was New York Pizza. Maybe they can bring back another Tuesday slice special like before. I was sad to see there were very limited slice selections when I got there yesterday around 5. I ended just getting a pepperoni slice for $5. Slice was good but I really wanted a Detroit slice. They only had 3 slices of Detroit pepperoni, Maybe next time. Employee was nice and the service was very quick. I will be back again to see if they have a bigger selection next time.

They failed miserably at Detroit Style Pizza, I shudder to think how badly they'll do Chicago Style. Stick to basic NYC style

If you're going to advertise that you make Detroit Style pizza at least do the bare minimum of looking up on Wikipedia what it is. Went here on a Tuesday bc of their $20 special on D-town pizza. The only thing they got right was the shape & pepperoni cups, nothing else. To be Detroit pizza you need the industrial WW2 pans made of Blue Steel, you need the sauce on top in 2 long stripes that don't touch the crust, you have to use Wisconsin block cheese & the cheese needs to go all the way to the edge and caramelize into a dark brown cheese crust. This was a decent pizza, just don't call it "Detroit Style". Overall I'm giving them 2 stars (vs. 1 star) bc service was decent. Pizza came out in 20 min even though they only had 1 poor guy working everything. The only place in town that gets it right is "Angry Pete's Pizza" in Kearny Mesa. Now THATS Detroit Style Pizza!

WOW! I have been meaning to try this pizzeria out for a few months. I did a promotion and picked up some pizza here...IT IS DELICIOUS! I got: 2 slices Ciao Bella Margarita, 1 Bonita White, and 1 Cheese for a total of 4 slices. ALL of them are Delicious!! It is the traditional and authentic NY Style pizza. I can taste the garlic oil and all of the fresh toppings in every bite. The man who helped me at the counter was super customer service oriented and he was packing up an order of 5 XL 18" NY pizzas but took the time to acknowledge me and help me. This was impressive as he was handling all of the business well. I should have taken a picture of the pizzas on display but they all look good. I am definitely coming back to try more...maybe tomorrow on lunch! They have a lunch special: 2 NY Slices (very big slices) and soda for $10. It is worth it! The flavor is AWESOME! Thank you Victorino's! I feel bad for the Little Caesar's in the same shopping center...you just took one of their customers...ME! LOL

Amazing!!! My favorite type of pizza is their Bonita White; I highly recommend! Also one of their items that greatly surprised me was their garlic knots they are very large and buttery and so so soft in the center. The garlic flavor is delicious! The staff is always friendly and the service is quick!

Empire State Meat Lovers Pizza (sausage, pepperoni, salami, meatballs, red sauce; added mushrooms & black olives)

This was't our first time ordering from Victorinos, but it was our first time ordering a deep dish pizza (to go). We ordered their 12" Harry Carey's Deep Dish, Empire State Meat Lovers Pie. It consisted of red sauce, sausage, pepperoni, meatballs, ricotta, parsley, Parmesan, and oregano. We also added mushrooms to our pizza. Upon arrival, it was ready to pay for and boy was it heavy for a 12" pie! The box really got soaked by the time we finished serving the slices at home. It was delicious and everyone that had a slice had positive comments about the pizza. It was fresh, tasty, filling, but pricey! Note: Thursday's is Deep Dish Pizza Special at Victorino's, ALL Deep Dish Pizzas are $27! So if you can wait 'till Thursday's, it's a great deal... Overall, I can speak to Victorino's for their deep dish pizzas and highly recommend 'em!

Hungry lil Man couldn't wait to eat after school pick up!
Rose A.

Popped in for a slice of pizza with my 5 yr old after school pick up. Love this location it is central to everything and only mins fr his school, so it is ideal! Not sure the times for the 2 slice deal but they offered it anyway, but my card tap payment failed! Not to worry ...very friendly and family oriented! The guy at the counter made sure my lil boy got his cheese pizza! My lil guy was so hungry and eager to take the slice off his hands! Free slice for the kiddo such great costumer service... I will definitely be their regulars! Thanks for feeding my lil boy! My momma heart appreciates it so much!

Sausage and Pepperoni pizza. Large $25 on 10.29.25
Sal P.

5 stars: Inside looks great with all the sports art and Chicago and NYC themed look. Cashier was very friendly. 5 stars Tried NYC style pizza. Not that great. Lacked any significant flavor. More wet and either mozarrellla is not low moisture or sauce was too watery. It was also too thick for a NY style pizza. Crust was floppy with no crunch and didn't have that nice spotted look from a good brick oven. Pepperoni and sausage just didn't have any flavor impact. They have deep dish and Detroit style that I will test next time. But overall disappointment with the NYC pizza.

Not the same ny style godfather made vic's way that I've gotten in the past

I came in with a craving for a NY style Godfather pizza made Vic's way. First time i had Victorinos it's what i got and I've been craving it but hadn't gotten a full pie in a while just slices, which have always been on point. Today was the day i wanted a whole pizza. I was so excited. I got home and what i got was more of a thick hand tossed pizza, with extra cheese, not sure where the extra pepperoni went though. The pizza was good, just not what i had gotten the first or what i was excited for. I'm sure I'll give them another chance, or just stick to slices.

Dave Winfield Italian Dave Winfield Italiano Sub

I wasn't the biggest fan of Victorinos pizza when it first opened, something about the cheese I didn't like, too salty or something. I decided to give it another chance and I'm happy to report that it was improved since last time I came, my six year also confirmed. The pizza had very little flop, the sauce was mild, and the toppings are top notch. I really enjoy interacting with the workers there, they are nicest people in the food industry. As I was chopping it up with the cook he mentioned the special they have on Fridays, which is all subs are only $10 (normally $15). I'm a huge Italian sub fan, I drive all over SD to try em, so I told the guy I would be back the next day to try it out, and I did. Although the pizza is good, their Italian sub, called the Dave Winfield, stole the show! It is now my second favorite Italian sub in SD (first is Gus' Subs in La Mesa still). Salami, capicola, pepperoni, and provolone, with the traditional veggies all on a in house, made from scratch daily, 10" roll. The bread for me is what makes the sandwich stand out over the rest. It's lightly toasted on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. I can't express how good the bread is. Meat and veggies are for the most part all the same, but a great piece of bread is what will set a sandwich apart from the others. If you're in the area, stop and get a slice for the kids, and get yourself the Italian sub, trust me.

Favorite place to eat Korean fried chicken in San Diego on Mondays and Tuesdays for their $1 wings…read moredine in deal. The deal is up to 12 wings per person which is great because after 6 wings - dipped heavily in ranch sauce - I'm full. Deal doesn't come with any sides like radish or rice and costs extra. My go to spicy wing sauce is yangnyeom. The Littles (who normally don't like very seasoned or saucy things) surprisingly liked the 3 non spicy flavors. Bulgolgi fries is overall crispy and tasty but has little Bulgolgi in it. Japchae was underwhelming. Parking sucks but it never takes me more than 2 minutes to find parking. I've never had to wait for seating but I've seen that wait times can be from 30 minutes - 1 hour at peak times or with large parties.

You are also able to take it home if you don't finish but it is way more than enough. There was a small wait and the servers Annika and Kyla were attentive and responsive. We tried all flavors of the wings. All 3 of us had different favorites but I'd say all the flavors were pretty good and there wasn't a flavor I disliked. Their tteokboki was sooo good. I really enjoyed the flavor and so far my best I've tried. Other places are too sweet or has too much overpowering gochuchang. This place is by far my favorite for tteokboki. I really didn't like their takoyaki though. Too much flour/dough and they were not mindful making it since some pieces only had 1 piece of octopus while some piece had none and was just straight up flour. I'd come back for their wings and tteokboki though.

I doubt the outcome would have been much different, but I want readers--especially those considering takeout or ordering through Uber Eats, GrubHub, or DoorDash--to have that context. What we ordered: 30-piece Mix & Match Crew Pack (10 Cajun wings, 10 Hot Honey wings, 10 Lemon Pepper boneless), all requested extra crispy/well done, carrot and celery sticks, three ranch dressings, a large seasoned fries, and a 5-piece fried corn add-on. The issues: Unfortunately, none of the food arrived hot, and none of the 30 wings or boneless pieces were cooked extra crispy as requested. The fries were placed loosely in the large to-go bag in an uncovered paper tray, which could have easily spilled during transport. The carrot and celery sticks were simply wrapped in a napkin and placed in the bag in the same open tray as the fries. The fried corn also didn't taste fresh. I'm not suggesting it wasn't freshly made--only that it didn't taste like it had just been fried. The main reason for this review is the value for the price. The total came to $68, and the overall quality and packaging didn't feel close to worth that amount. For comparison, we could have ordered a similar quantity of food from Panda Express for around $52, or from Epic Wings or Buffalo Wild Wings. They might be similarly priced--or even slightly more--but I would have gladly paid $70-$80 if the food tasted fresh and the order had been packaged with more care. Those dining in may have a somewhat better experience than we did with takeout. However, based on the average Yelp rating for this location, we're not convinced that would be the case.
