I went in twice in December 2022. The first was to find a NYE dress. The young ladies on the floor and in the dressing room were friendly and helpful. The second time I returned was to return a coat I purchased online. The cashier was friendly and made my return easy and fast. Will be back to shop here again soon! read more

Why do the employees here have such bad attitudes?? Not helpful at all. The worrrrst energy. They definitely would rather be somewhere else. And honestly, so would I. All I wanted to do was try on a dress that was on a mannequin. First I looked around for that particular dress, but couldn't find it. Asked an employee and she told me that they don't let people try on the clothes on the mannequin but she could ask. So she did. Then she said the manager was asking if I planned on buying it. Like everyone else said, awful experience. They have their fitting rooms close and they give you hard time accepting returns. We lost our credit card and they were like, do you want store credit? We said no thinking they are going to explain if we have other options, nope he put everything back and gave it back to us with zero explanations! Now I have to by $300 worth from a brand that I would never shop from again. Store manager was complaining about his managers saying they are not nice to us when we give them feedback! Exchanged an item this evening. Waited about 10 minutes. I was 2nd in line, with about three customers behind me. Another Associate came up to the registers. I thought she was going to help out the only associate ringing. No, the Asian associate who may have been the manager or definitely someone in charge..just ignored all of the customers. When I was doing my exchange, the associate needed help. She asked the Asian manager for help and she took her sweet time counting her drawer. The associate asked for help again. I spent over 30 minutes shopping with no help from the two associates that work there, not even a greeting. One appeared to be a manager and another an associate. When I finally finished shopping, I placed my items on the counter and waited several minutes, no longer since I was already bothered by the lack of customer service. I left the items on the counter and passed the associate at the front of the store before leaving. I looked in her direction and there was still no type of greeting or acknowledgment. The Zara in Carlsbad did not have many choices at all for holiday parties. I previously was at the Zara in Honolulu a week prior and found their store to have lots of fun choices but my suitcase was too full to buy all I wanted. Terrible customer service! Rude cashier turned a Tuesday morning visit to the shop with my granddaughter into a real downer. While many employees roamed the store, only the unfriendly woman "on the management team" operated a register. If the items I was attempting to purchase had been for myself, I'd have set them down and walked out. But since the clothes were for my 7-year-old granddaughter, I sucked it up and waited (far too long) in line only to be treated with disdain and contempt. My grandma bought me a sweat outfit from the men's section on accident that obviously doesn't fit my body how it should considering I am a women lol. The employees and customer service are no help at all. She paid full price and in cash! My friends and I went shopping and decided to stop inside Zara to look for some dresses for my friends bridal shower. Throughout our shopping experience we felt gazes of two male workers - gazes of judgement but we tried not to think much of it and assumed we were overthinking it. At one point my friend went up to a male worker who was referred to as Sam I believe and asked for helping recalling where she grabbed a pair of jeans from since she wanted a different size and he simply just pointed to the far side of the store and said "over there" - he didn't even help her find them so in turn my friend decided to just not buy them since she was so frustrated with her experience trying to find them. When we went to check out, my other friend gave a young male employee - tall with curly hair - her dress to check out. He then proceeded to ask her in a very rude tone "Did you even try this on?" That instantly struck a red flag and severely upset my friend. We were so shocked by the judgement and rude question that we didn't even know how to react to the situation so we just stayed quiet and left the store after she bought her dress. Now looking back at how we felt the whole time inside the store I don't believe we were overthinking feeling judged and stared at while shopping. I tend to let things like this slide because I've worked in retail and I know sometimes people have bad days but the way we were treated was completely uncalled for and I hate to say it but we won't be returning only due to the way we were treated. I hope nobody else finds themselves in the same position we found ourselves and I hope the management of this location is able to identify whom I am speaking about and have a training session on how to kindly treat customers. read more

Staff are young and unprofessional. The kid who claimed to be a manager kept looking at his scanner than actually talk to me when I have a question to returns item. He doesn't even apologize for not talking to me as a customer but he was doing his thing. When I asked what is his name, he was scared to provide it and mentioned he is not wearing a name tag. The store holds to its standard of quality, organization , cleanliness, and aesthetic . However my review is based of the immature gal working in the dressing room this Saturday . She was talking loudly and bad about customers to another worker while in the fitting room. Ridiculing then person who called to ask a question about the stores location and in another occasion claiming it smelled like "B.O" in the fitting room. Have a little prudence if that maybe true and keep that to yourself . What is the need of making crude remarks so loudly with customers listening ? I love the fact that Zara is now here in the North County area and at the new Shoppes at Carlsbad. While I love the clothing here, I think the one thing that is a miss is that majority of the people here in North County aren't into these kinds of clothes and the clientele here is a miss. I was helped by George he showed me a couple different styles and gave me information about the different fitments. I was pleased with the pair of jeans he recommended. I know it's not necessarily the employees fault but their service is awful right now. They are so short staffed that you wait for a very long time in line. The dressing rooms are still closed so you have to purchase clothes and then return them. Then it's happed twice where I have been in line and they take the people behind me to a different section of the store to check them out. Honestly, this space is very clean and nice but, if I am being honest it's so unwelcoming and the workers there are very rude , I went with my little sister as we were paying for our things the cashier was giving an attitude and couldn't care less that we were there, I took some things that I didn't want anymore and she looked mad even tho I apologize. I had come in to return a dress as I'd purchased two for an event and needed time to decide what I wanted. The nice sales associate mentioned that although I was over the return deadline for money back (by 7 days) that they still sold the dress and it would be up to the managers discretion. I'm excited that ZARA kids is near by, the store is small, cute and clean, that's what the 2 stars belongs to. Customer service doesn't even exist in the kids store. I walked around looking for employees because I had a question on how to properly return an item in their store, there was a girl behind the register and a group of 4 huddled close by, nobody asked if I needed help as they engaged with one another. As I shopped NO ONE helped me or said a word to me. When I was ready for checkout the same girl that was behind the register was now working on a floor setup, I stood at the register for a good 5minutes before she asked me if I was ready to checkout. I have never been to a Zara store and was anxious to check out the merchandise at this newly remodeled mall. Can I state....CUTE CUTE stuff! A little on the pricey side but they do offer "Basic Deals". They offer clothing for men, kids and women. The store itself was huge, very spacious and the employees were very helpful.
