Stopped at this Zaxby's in Batesville MS and the young lady who took my order sounded like she hated working there. She very curtly said, "What do you want?" I gave her my wife's order and she said, "Is that all?" I said, "No, I'd like a Big Zax Snack." Her: "Is that all?" I said, "Yes, that's all." If you live in this general area (Memphis and south of Memphis), you've come to expect not to have good service. Shame on me for not checking my order but it was crowded and people were standing around waiting on their orders and I got my order before some folks that were standing around waiting when I walked in - but they did not give me the Zax Sauce. I went inside to eat around 9:10pm on Saturday night - they close at 10pm... there were some orders being taken to people's cars via online ordering and inside was one guy who had already ordered and gotten his food but he was standing there talking to some employees. I stood alone waiting to order for a food 5-7 minutes... pretty much every employee working there made eye contact with me and never said a word... no "can I help you" or "it'll be just a minute"... they did however chat with the guy who had already eaten... after a couple employees walked past me and offered no help I decided to leave... my first time trying a Zaxby's and I'll never go back... if you aren't a local I don't think they want you in their restaurant read more

As a Road Warrior there are a few fast food chains I trust for a consistently good meal at every location. Zaxby's is one of those chains that I have visited in several states (AR, LA, MS, TN, TX). On a recent drive from Memphis to New Orleans, I stopped at this Zaxby's for lunch. As usual, the Food was Very Good and the Service was Fast and Friendly. This Zaxby's has very friendly service and serves up fresh & hot food and offered my husband & I a respite during a rainstorm. I took full advantage of the Coke machine with the thousand flavor combos. The chicken finger sandwiches have always been tricky for me because chicken fingers don't lay well on toast. I mostly get the sandwiches for the bread to eat after the chicken fingers fall off. It was very good though overall. Conveniently located just off the highway and near a Walmart. Usually when people give less than 3 stars on fast food it's because their expectations are way too high (I mean, come on, it's fast food). But this place was so bad. No exaggeration, it took over 30 minutes to get our food from the drive through (we were coming from Tennessee to Louisiana and it added 35 minutes to our trip) and once we got our order it was wrong. My wife has never eaten here. We are on a 9 hour road trip with a 4 month old and a 20 month old, I'm talking this place up like crazy to my wife, finally get her to agree to eat here, and boom! 30 minutes in the drive through. That's worse than getting charged for a cup of water, which is comical in a state with the highest obesity rate in the nation. Just went to the drive thru here they were all very rude and they handed me the wrong order I went back in and one of the employees was going to hand my wrong order that went into my car directly to the customer that ordered it. The low stars aren't about the food. Its the service. It's the typical Zaxby's fare, but I've now stopped here a couple of times while traveling. It is sooooooo slow. There was a bit of a crowd headed to the Ole Miss game, and it didn't seem like the staff could handle it. It was no crazier than what Id expect for a typical lunch crowd. I shouldn't be waiting 20 minutes as a Zaxby's. All you make is chicken . If you're in a rush, and you see more than a few people inside, I'd suggest choosing not another place. read more

Batesville Zaxbys has the worst service. I walked in and said " Hi how are you?" To the cashier and she just looked at me. Wtf? I ordered. The food was typical. There was no ice in the ice machine. There were no napkins anywhere. The floors were filthy. The booths were filthy. I did not feel welcome. I won't go back. It's a great example of how Not to run a restaurant. Zaxby's has good food. Really enjoy their chicken tenders with Zaxby's Sauce on the side. Every time we pass through, we stop here.
