Zaxby's is a great place for chicken and wings. I can't judge it by other Zaxby's restaurants because I have only been to this one. I live in the Bay Area in California; however, I have seen quite a few Zaxby's commercials during SEC football games. I had to look it up online to learn that they are a regional restaurant chain. My wife loves hot wings. Unfortunately, we don't have many American hot wing chains nearby. We have Smoke Eaters and Wing Stop restaurants nearby; but, only a few other (mostly Caribbean or Korean) mom & pop wing restaurants. When I visit family in the Florence area, I am always happy to eat at Zaxby's! The food is a really good value and the restaurant has always been clean. I'm surprised by some of the poor reviews. I suppose that I can only compare it with the handful of wing restaurants that we have in Northern California. If we had a Zaxby's nearby, we would eat there often. Football season is just around the corner. I suspect that we will see more commercials for Zaxby's taunting us -- and making us wish that we had somewhere similar to go following a Stanford game. read more

OK, I'm gonna start off like this every time I come to and I hit curbside. Why do I always gotta go my food and they are not even busy half the time I did it today and I still didn't bring me my food person brought somebody curbside food, and then me and another lady sitting here longer than them and we had to go in and get our own food when it says your order is ready we'll bring it out to you and I'm gonna food is not good not one bit because I got home. I had three little bitty chicken get fries. I don't get fries because every time that I get fries they're nasty and cold every why I never get fries. I get two of toast, but the chicken fingers are so little. I don't really know what I'm paying for but it is what it is. I guess I used to work for and this is very bad like we wouldn't have sent this out, but it is what it is. I don't work at the in Florence, but if it was where I would used to be working, we wouldn't send stuff like that out. I was so disappointed. I went and did curbside pickup and placed the order at 6:26pm, they said it'd be ready by 6:45pm. No problem. So we got there around 6:35, I put in the number I was parked at, and waited, 6:45 came and nothing, then 7pm, then 7:15pm and then 7:30pm and still nothing. I went inside to ask if there was an issue with my order, as I walk in, I notice an employee on their phone, no one said anything to me and I just saw my order sitting on a rack, no one ever took it out, I grabbed the bag, obviously angry. When I got in the car, I realized they didn't give me extra sauce, which I paid for, they didn't give the drink or fries with the kids meal I ordered, and the food was extremely cold and gross. My toddler was starving as we were out and about and he didn't want to eat the food cus it was soggy and cold. The fact that my order was sitting there for almost an hour and no one brought it out to us, and then to see an employee on their phone while my order was sitting there getting cold is completely unacceptable. They also don't have their sign on at night so you'd miss it completely if you didn't know it was there. I'm beyond disappointed seeing as we paid $32 for cold, soggy & bland food and paid for food we didn't even receive. I would give 0 stars if I could. I'm usually understanding when it comes to not having enough staff but it wasn't busy and sitting on your phone while a curbside order is getting cold is just not acceptable. Do better. read more

This is usually our go-to Zaxbys around us. My wife likes their chicken better than the one closest to us. So we typically drive a bit out of our way to come to this one. I know we are living in a crazy time with this COVID business but I was not thrilled with the experience i just had. I haven't found a way in their app to specify I already have an order and to curbside pickup. Please tell me how to do so! When I get there, there is a line in the drive thru about 15 cars deep. I wait almost 10 minutes before finally giving up and calling in to say I'm here. The person on the phone answers and is friendly enough, but they need to know the drinks I had (even though my order came via the app). But no big deal, I get it. I tell them 3 coke zeros and 2 sprites. We straighten out which ones were supposed to be kiddie sized. Someone brings my food out and I notice they only had 4 drinks. I tell them sorry but I'm pretty sure I had 5. No, you had 4.If you're sure, why did you have to ask how many I had? My food had already been sitting so instead of pulling up my receipt (this is my fault) I just drove off. I can get a drink at home anyway was my thinking. Anyway, attached is a copy of my receipt showing 5. The worst part is that when I got home, they had completely neglected to include one of my orders. I called pretty upset because it had been a pretty terrible experience so far. I say what's happened and I am transferred to Cheryl the manager. She salvaged my experience here. Cheryl was very understanding and empathetic to my situation. She asked me to come back and get my food and my drink and insisted on putting in some free items to make up for my inconvenience even though I wasn't really after any of that. We had an awful drive through experience with the girl that took our order she would not listen and was rude didn't wanna give us a menu to look at when we asked because you can't look at the big menu anymore by the drive through , told the manager about her he didn't care stood with his arms crossed the whole time and had an attitude the whole time aswell! We get home the food we ordered is missing the food we have is not ours and we are currently on not even on hold with the store just listening to the store talk and joke around the past 17 minutes! First time trying this food when visiting Alabama. The lids had poor ventilation so the French fries got soggy fast. I suggest to keep them out of the container. The wings rated average for me. The Buffalo tenders had a weird after taste that was not very pleasant. All of our local friends said you have to watch the sodium at this place. Zaxby's was okay....Not the best chicken strips that I've ever had....but then again...definitely not the worst either. Reminded me a lot of Abners. Children's menu was thouroughly disappointing! Ordered a grilled cheese and fries for my stepdaughter.....and there was only a 1/2 sandwich and fries that were overly-seasoned to the point she couldnt eat them. :( Definitely a factor that knocks a star or two away. Zaxby's can be a good but completely unhealthy choice. This location is incredibly busy, often with people queued around the store trying to get a drive-thru order. Unfortunately, that's there problem. Often too busy and not adequately prepared for their crush. On more than one occasion I received tenders that were burned in the outside, partially raw on the inside. That's what happens when frozen tenders are fried. I'd also guess that someone got burned in the process, water+hot oil=serious splattering. The food is ok okay but the risk of salmonella is too great, especially when this happened in my kid's meal. Reckless and irresponsible with no regard for safety, that's how I describe the location. Slow down folks, you got me sick once won't make that mistake again. read more

Wish I could give a negative star. I don't know what has happened here but my whole order was horrible. It began with them forgetting my salad dressing for my salad luckily I have learned to check my bag before I leave the window and also probably because I realized they had put my salad on the bottom underneath a bunch of hot food. Second there was a HAIR in my child's grilled cheese so I took it in with no apologies from the staff. Then I noticed that most of the toppings that came on the salad were not on there. Wish I just left the food there because once I got home the food that was correct was horrible also. Great place to eat. Food is generally excellent and so is service. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the restaurant is dirtier in the dining room. Tables with food particles along with seats dirty and floors sometimes sticky. We notice this problem mostly when they're really busy. First of all I'll comment on the food its self which was ok and not my main reason for giving this place such a low rating. The food "chicken and fries" were not stellar but they weren't bad. The fries had a little too much seasoning for my taste but otherwise they were fine. The staff was decent and nice. Now for the thing that really turned me against this place. After placing our order we proceeded to look for a table. The place was only about half occupied so there were plenty of tables available but to my surprise not one of them was clean. Every single table in the place looked as if a bunch of wild pigs had been there. There was food and spilled drinks all in the floor, crumbs all over the tables and chairs, used napkins and utensils left by the last person to sit there, and just plain filth throughout the place. We ended up finding the cleanest dirty table and cleaning it ourselves as best we could which was piled with trash. I had better expectations of this place, especially since it was my first time to eat at Zaxby's. They did not leave me with a good impression and I will not be a returning customer. Not once while we were eating did I see a single table being cleaned. Absolutely pathetic. Management needs to get their act together and keep the place decent for their patrons.
