It's been a very long time since we had Zaxby's so we were super hype reading the menu options. Once decided, Da'Vonica assisted with our order. I was torn between the two quesadilla options and asked her opinion. Right off the bat she was eager to give her opinion. We talked about that location being the only one around in the area. Whoever the owner is, PLEASE do not close! Please open a New Orleans location since we were told that's where he's from. Do not go to this location. There's always a problem when we go. The first time they weren't doing traditional wings. Months passed, tonight we tried again against my better judgement. They weren't doing traditional and they were doing the sauces on the side. I want the lemon pepper seasoning (which is not a sauce) on my chicken no sauce, the drive thru guy told me that it would still come on the side. Worst location. Being that I'm from the north... This was my first experience with Zaxby's! I saw many people raving about their salads so I went to get one of the salads called the Zensation salad. The lady at the window let me order it however they did not have it when I got up to pay. So I ended up getting a Caesar salad. The lettuce was crisp and fresh. The chicken was crispy and hot. *disclaimer* I will and forever will be a chik-fil-a fan. Zaxbys beats Canes in the tenderness of their chicken fingers. Crinkle fries were crispy and well seasoned. However, the Zaxbys sauce lacks the flavor and kick of Canes. I ordered a chicken fingers kids meal. It comes with a lot of fries and satisfies a small appetite. Other orders were the salad which was surprisingly good for a fast food establishment, the chicken finger meal (comes with toast and an extra finger) I also asked for some of their spicy Wing sauce to try. It's a bit more sour than spicy but not a bad dipping sauce. read more

My husband LOVES chicken! Easy to say this place was high on his list to try. We were greeted by an exceptionally friendly staff. My husband ordered the celebration platter. It had wings, tenders, fries, celery sticks, and zaxby's sauce. He said the tenders were rock awesome! I wasn't starving so I got the kids 2 tender box with apple juice and cookies. Alright. The chicken was not good. It was like that fake meat that was in McDonald's chicken nuggets. The food wasn't like it was not able to be eaten. It was edible, that is the only reason it got this rating. There wasn't many customers, which I could tell why when I got the food. This place was such a disappointment. It's my fault. I couldn't remember that the best not-Raising-Cane's alternative wasn't Zaxby's, but Foosackly's. So I rolled up and ordered a chicken tender salad and an onion ring expecting better and the whole meal was nasty. By the time I got it all home, it was a greasy melted mess. The chicken was tough, like it had been fried, cooled, and refried. There were more croutons than salad a the dressing containers were greasy. The rings were so oily they were inedible -- clearly the grease they were fried in wasn't for rings only. Frankly, it tasted like the whole barn was fried in it. Yuck. First, I don't know what country they imported the "cajun" spices from, there's nothing cajun here. It's more like stale jamaican jerk rub without the salt. Finally got to try the Cane's rival and here is where I think it stacks up. Chicken: This was a dead heat for me, I think their chicken is very similar to each other in both taste and size. Crinkle Fries: Zaxby's fries are a little thicker making them less crispy than Canes, however, I enjoyed the seasoning on them. Toast: Zaxby's falls short on this one since its not delicious garlic Texas toast. Cole Slaw: The coleslaw was good, but on the creamier side of the spectrum. Sauce: Close, but Cane's wins out on this one. Zaxby's sauce has less pepper so it doesn't have the same kick, it also comes in a pre made packet and not made fresh daily, so one less point for preservatives. Price wise, its competitively priced. The part where I think Zaxby's has a leg up is all the options they have. I love that you can get a salad or sandwich. You don't HAVE to get fried chicken and offers some healthy alternatives. I also enjoy all the other sauce options. I tried their original buffalo sauce and it was great. I'd recommend to anyone who enjoys buffalo flavor. I loved the fries, the fries are good. The chicken was fine, but wasn't wowed. Cane's is local and would support that first if given a choice. But there isn't one close to this location. Went the second time and had the buffalo blue salad. It was OK, but not more than that. But it's a fast food salad, so what do you expect ? This place is very comparable to Cane's, however there are way more options on the menu. It's, of course, all chicken choices, but it's plentiful chicken choices. Grilled chicken, salads, sandwiches (more than just one kind), sliders, etc. One of the main reasons why I can't give this place higher than 3 stars is because of the price. They are pretty expensive and the strips are pretty small at that. If the price were better this would have quickly became my chicken strip place of choice. Thankfully you can still see the "newness" of the restaurant which means it's still clean! The service is on the high average side. Not rude, but not going above and beyond either. Generally speaking, they are pretty friendly. I'm sure this will continue to get my business, I just would love better prices :-) read more

I unfortunately went here for late lunch. Arriving about 12:45 I was happy to see that there was nobody in front of me. Still it took 4-5 minutes to get waited on. When I ordered, I told them no sauce, and no coleslaw. swap it for extra toast.I don't know how many pieces you get with the order but mine came with 2 pieces of toast, coleslaw, and sauce. So I guess they ask you to see if you can guess what you are going to get.
