I am originally from McDonough but haven't lived in McDonough for a few years. I went to McDonough on Thursday afternoon to pick up my nephew & nieces. 4 children in all, and quite a rambunctious bunch when they all get together. They haven't been together in a while so they were super excited and hyper. We decided to grab some food before jumping on the interstate. Every employee of this location that we encountered (except one), were all super professional and pleasant. There was one young lady in particular who I felt went above and beyond and I'm kicking myself for not getting her name. She was also the person who took our order. Just specifying that in case she happens to see this, and I'm sure she'll remember my rambunctious group. I appreciate the employees being so pleasant and patient with us. Wish I had read the reviews before visiting. I worked at Zaxby's & I was so disappointed. I'll never go again. They are very slow, tea not sweet & wrong sauce on my kickin chicken. I tried calling to get my order redone right but no one ever answered. I wasted my money. read more

I went here after some coworkers told me to get zaxby's chicken. Personally the chicken was not that great. I wanted 20 wings and fries and I got 20 wings and fries but that was just about the only good thing. I went through the drive through. I asked for 20 wings, ten of their hot wings and ten of their sweet and spicy. They told me if I wanted 2 flavors they would have to charge me for 2 ten piece orders. Dumb rule but whatever. Then I asked for a large order of fries. She proceeded to ask me if I wanted a regular size or a large size. I got up to the window and paid. She handed me my card and a bag and said have a nice day. I pulled away. I pulled out of the drive through and went to eat a wing before getting back on the road and noticed I didn't have my fries and they put all my wings, 2 flavors in 1 container. How are you going to charge me for 2 ten piece orders and then put them all in 1 box? The fries ended up cold, and the wings had almost no sauce on them. I will never be back to this location and I am skeptical about trying another zaxby's location. One chance to impress and you did poorly. I may not like the flavors at Popeyes but at least I know I am getting what I pay for. Zaxby's you are incredibly overpriced for the poor quality of food/service. read more

I stopped in here after a long day on 4/9/13. My wife and I stepped to the counter with nobody in front of us. We ordered a chicken finger plate and a "The Blue" Zalad sans onion straws. My wife tried to order a soda and they said they only had water and sweet tea. Really? You have a Walmart in your parking lot and you do not have soda just because you are having some problems with your machine? That was the first indication of how poor this location is. They put the order in and we went and picked a table. Even though we were the first people in line we sat and waited for about 15 minutes before they called our number. When I got to the counter I noticed onion straws laced throughout the zalad. So I had to wait another 5 minutes for them to make me a new one. I ordered water to drink and immediately noticed that their water was unfiltered, nasty tasting, chlorine and flouride filled crap. I have never tasted bad water at a Zaxby's so I am not sure if their filter was broken or needed to be changed or if McDonough's water has just gone way south as of late. Further observations- As we sat there and ate, we saw other customers straggle in as well. It took no less than 15 minutes for each of them to be served. Also, this location seems slightly smaller than the others I have been to. As a result, the noise level in here is very high. Once we finally got our food it was actually good. But hey, it's Zaxby's, so of course it is going to taste good! It is all from the same commissary. It is for that reason, and ONLY for that reason, that I was able to give this location a 2 star review instead of one. Basically, if you live local to Henry County it would be well worth your drive to hit one of the other locations in the area. That is, of course, unless you just really enjoy long, unecessary waits, eating in a very loud environment, and like limited choices on what you can drink, and have a taste for crappy, unfiltered city water. Rude service from some (not all) of the staff and you never get a "hello welcome to zaxbys" when you come in the dinning room. And 50 cents for some ranch makes me wanna bring my own bottle before I come in lol.. Just a little smile and a "welcome" would be nice. Cold fries most of the time.. you have to come on a good day. They seem to have Dr.pepper most of the time.. (unlike the other locations) but it's normally flat. read more

I want through the drive thru at 10:55 on a Friday night. I understand that they close at 11pm. I would rather you tell me that. I was told it would take 30min to cook twenty wings and that they one had 1 small fry In the building. The staff is shiftless. I cant believe it. This is my second bad experience. What I have ate here I have been pleased with. I haven't tried the entire menu of things. This one and all Zaxby's are kinda pricey but some things you will get enough of to feed two persons. So then it's not so bad. We usually go thru the drive in and take it home which has been fast. I do have one complaint though. That intercom at the drive-in ordering window is terrible. They need to fix that. read more

Worst zaxby's i've ever been in. Both ice machines were out, customer service was slow, and overall not a great experience.

We came on a Monday night for a school function. The service was extremely slow and it wasn't even busy. It took us 30 minutes to get our food and then everything was cold. If it hadn't been for the school receiving some of the proceeds I would of asked for my money back. I definitely won't be visiting this location again until there is some major improvements. read more

This is probably the worst zaxby's I have been to. First of all, they were out of the 20 oz beverage cups that you get with a meal & wanted us to pay the up charge for the next size up. Since when is it the customers fault and problem that they ran out of 20 oz cups? Really? The tables had not been cleaned after customers picked up their trash. They were sticky with sauce and ketchup. The floors were sticky from sodas being spilt and used napkins were all over the floors. I ordered a salad and the hubs had a chicken finger plate. I had to ask for forks to eat with. The fingers were salty as was the zaxby sauce. Will not be going back to zaxby's. KFC is way better! read more

I went into Zaxbys for a late night meal at about 745. They close at 10 so I would expect them to still be dropping foods. I work at the one a few exits from me, but didn't want to drive there as I was really hungry. I ordered a wings and things, but as I ordered, the cashier kept speaking to fast before I could finish my order so that everything could be right. He had to turn around to tell the kitchen specialties for my order twice, thus not taking the time to let me speak. The manager had to also void something on my order because he was speaking to fast before i could tell him what i wanted. I asked for my food to be fresh, all of it and before I could finish, my food was already prepared. The speed was amazing, but I definetlely was willing to wait on fresh food. My fries looked as if they had been sitting under the warmer for a while, and they also tasted as such. The chicken tenders I know we're sitting for a while and were warm not hot. And don't me get me started on the toast, it was cold, and old. I'm not a difficult person but this was unbelievable. I asked the cashier for fresh toast and I was willing to wait 1:20 seconds for it as it takes 45 seconds for each side to cook. Literally 2 seconds later, a piece of cold, old buttered toast was presented to me. The presentation as well of the meal was very off with my celery on my tenders and and the tray open. I have never had any problems from this location before, but this really was a turn off for me..especially for $8.55. read more
