First time trying Zaxby's. Had the chicken bacon ranch quesadilla. Was skeptical at first but it was scrumptious. Also got a strawberry lemonade that was also pretty good. Tried to order the peach sweet tea but they were out :(. Did order a meal though and got no French Fries. The service was pretty good we did have to wait though. I had done a big order, and although they had put down 4 of my Chicken Plates as Zax Snak Meals instead, and forgot a Signature Sandwich Meal and kids milk, when I called them and went back with my receipt, they gave me the correct order of Chicken Plates, Signature Sandwich Meal, and kids milk. I'd give five stars but I didn't get the entire experience. In short, I didn't see the restroom. As for being clean inside and outside, they are organized at the drive thru and the areas are very clean. The service was fast and friendly. The people there didn't seem to hate their job as at many places. I bugged the cashier multiple times for extras such as salt and sauce. She was friendly and had no issues at any time helping me. I did forget pictures this time because we were hungry. Lol. However, the food was prepared quicky, was hot, and very tasty. This is one that I have always been able to count on. Consistent is the adjective that best describes Zaxby's. Their food is consistently good, and the service is consistently off. Since the drive-thru was wrapped around the building, I thought going inside to place my order would be faster...boy was I wrong. Only 3 people ahead of me. Their orders were slow to be prepared, and all 3 were wrong. Once I had my salad in hand, I checked to make sure it was correct. Jackpot! Mine was right! Guess I should have immediately gone out and purchased a lottery ticket! After I'd eaten my yummy salad of course If your order is correct, you can't go wrong with the house or black & bleu salad. My husband and I have come here 5 times now. 4 out of 5 times they have completely messed up the order. The 5th time my food was not as good as it usually is. When I order something I expect it to be right especially when I pay for stuff and they just straight up don't give it to me. I will personally not go back because of how many times the order is messed up. When you bring it up to an employee they get angry about it. The manager Tina did give me some comp cards when I called in, but even using those on the 5th time they still didn't give me everything in the order. I'm honestly sick of making a complaint and trying to fight them to get the items that they don't give me. It's not worth my time. read more

The fried chicken Zalad is a great option for a drive thru salad. Very big and always fresh. It has lettuce and diced cucumber and tomato with shredded cheese and carrot. Topped with sliced chicken tenders and served with crispy onion strings and a piece of Texas Toast. Best drive thru salad in town IMO. The large sport I normally get with it also has a wonderful flavor even though a large is $2.69. read more

I love Zaxby's. I was thrilled when I found out they were coming to New Bern. The chicken fingers and fries are always on my plate. Sometimes, when I'm with my family, we get the Tater Chips. It is all good. The service is excellent. It is on par with the greats like Chick-fil-A. Today, I came in for an early lunch. There was no one at the front to take my order. Someone from the kitchen immediately greeted me with a smile through the window and said someone would be right up. Also, the background music is Christian. I love this place! read more

I had the chicken fingers with Zachary sauce and crinkle cut fries and a chocolate cookie shake. Chicken was tasty and moist dipped in Zax sauce was really good. Milk shake tasted like it was made with soft ice cream and had a great chocolate taste with bits of crunchy cookie in it and topped with whipped cream. I would go to zaxbys again. read more

Went to Zaxby's the 2nd week it had been opened in New Bern, because my son LOVES this place. He apparently goes to it all the time in Charlotte. So I thought I'd "give it a go." Well, I did, and I was not impressed. O.K the employees are new, but the simple things that happened to me were normal COMMON stuff to know. I went at 11:30. I was the only one in the drive through (and so I took my time checking out what they had to offer.And they had plenty of time to make my order just right.) Prices are normal for fast food. They have many sauces to choose from which is nice. I ordered the Boneless wing meal. Which you get Crinkle Fries,a 22 oz. beverage and Boneless wings, celery and ranch for $5.29. That's alot of food. I also ordered an order of the "Tater Chips"-thinly sliced taters fried with ranch....to take home for the husband. The girl helping me with my order was very patient....but to chatty. She did not give me one napkin or Ketchup. Not sure....Was I supposed to ask? I thought that was a given. My chicken was great. The crinkle fries....fine only they were on top of my celery and now I had hot celery.. ...ew! The worst of the order was the chips. I open the box and I MAY HAVE had two slices that were actually crispy chips! The rest were soggy,wet and So GROSS! That is a dead give away people. if the potato comes out of the fryer still white and soggy....put it back in till they are crisp! Sheesh! I've been to this location twice. The food is hot/fresh, but it's a frozen product. Many Fast Food places have frozen products, but the quality is usually top notch. In this case, it was no better than the frozen stuff they sell at the grocery store. I was disappointed. The flavor was average, not memorable. McDonald's new buttermilk chicken strips are way better than the chicken Zaxby sells...and McDonald's is a burger specialist. Nuff Said? The people were nice. Service was speedy. Place was clean. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with this fast-food style chain restaurant. I have eaten at other Zaxby's, but this one stands out as the interior dining area was very well appointed. It more than reminded me of slightly higher tiered casual dining establishments such as Applebee's or TGIFriday's, less waitstaff. I love their food...but they cannot seem to keep this location clean. I have never been here when my feet didn't stick to the floor, and there wasn't soda and tea syrup dried and hardened over the countertops. I've even mentioned it to the staff before and they still can't clean up their act. Always see employees standing around chatting, so it's not that they are busy and short staffed. Sitting here on a Sunday early evening 4:48 pm, and my husband and I are the only patrons here. No excuse for it. I hope they improve. On a recent trip thru Zaxby's drive thru window, I notice the sanitary grade was a LOW 86. I asked to speak to the manager to inquire why. The manager informed me that it was a surprise visit and they were not ready. Also, the manager stated that there was a leaky faucet and fryer that was not working. The manager seemed unconcerned and so I asked had they been reinspected and they had and the manager said that the inspector decided NOT to change their grade. SEEMS a little fishy to me, like they were hiding something. Don't think they will be getting anymore of my business unless they get that grade way up. read more
