We explained the situation and he said he could come by today in the early morning and assured us he'd help us fix the problem. We were super grateful that he came by on time at 8am, and he helped us find a temporary fix for a larger issue. He gave us a reasonable quote for the larger issue and we'll be reaching out for him to come by again in the next couple of weeks. Emmett was thorough in diagnosing the problem and explained to us exactly what was going on and what he was doing. He's also very friendly, punctual and was available on a Sunday. Emmett put in a plug in the attic so we could install a Tankless water heater. We called several electricians in the area and he was the only one to respond, and he was will to come within the week we needed. He did a great job and made a very good suggestion for our lighting needs in the attic as well. He was great to work with and we enjoyed joking around with him. High recommendation. After our power went out and came back on, our master bath power was not working (the lights, the fan and the outlets). After reseting the breaker, the power was still out so I reached out to Zediker with the thought that the master bath breaker must need replacing. Emmett called me, asked a few questions and wondered if I'd reset the GFCI outlet in the bathroom. I told him no, because all the power is out, not just one single plug. He let me know that some electricians will run all the power through that single GFCI outlet (news to me) for the entire room. Low and behold, he was right and reseting the one outlet brought back power to the entire room. extremely poor communication skills Emmett will schedule an appointment and not even show up or even call to let you know what is happening. I call him. he said he would come do the job later in the day, again no show and no call from him. i should have called someone else at this point but he says he is just finishing a job and will call back in 10minutes to let me know his status. Again, Emmett did not call. meanwhile no electricity. ANOTHER 2 HOURS GO BY and still no call. Emmett blew me off but strung me along as well. how does he do business like this? Zero human decency. I can't speak for his skills as an electrician, because he is a no show, but he can't even make a simple phone call. Find someone else is my advice. read more

After an acquaintance's apartment caught on fire due to faulty wiring, I thought it would be a good idea to have my house checked out by a pro just in case. It has been a while anyway. Emmett came by and took a look at what was needed. He offered various options on how we could proceed. He did suggest that i replace my circuit breaker and the conduit on top of my house. He also brought up a much larger job of rewiring my 70 year old house (not sure when the last rewiring was), but wasn't pushy on it saying it was still safe to use. Since these were both fairly expensive jobs, I discussed it with my friends and family, and when they all agreed about the dangers of having a rusty circuit box, I decided to go for it. Communication with Emmett was easy and prompt. He made his work clear for me to understand and what to expect. He worked for a better part of a day on my house and it looks great! When "Emmett " came out he had another person with him that he appeared to be training. He was here for only a matter of minutes. Told my husband that the lights in the backyard was tripping the switch and the smell we smelled inside the house was from too many air fresheners and they were competing with the ozone...really! Come to find out, one of our ceiling fans had gone out; the motor burned up and was very well caused by y the wiring. A total waste of time and money. What a joke! read more

3 years after the last big job, we had Emmett back again for a mini job a couple weeks ago. He arrived for an estimate, and checked out the home depot fixture I purchased. He convinced me to get rid of it, and get another high quality fixture. (Our original RH fixture had been destroyed when our home was wrecked in a flood not long after his last job. Emmett's work was literally all that remained after the flood waters cleared.) So after putting in a shitty Home Depot piece in our rebuild, we got about 6 mos of use out of it. I called Emmett to come fix it, and he said no.You gotta love an electrician who comes correct. So we followed his advice, and ordered a cool fixture for a crap-ton of $, and he came back straight away to fix it up. It cost a mere $100, and he and his protegee did a kick ass job as always. He showed up at 12:45pm and fixed my problem with a smile and enthusiasm rarely found in the trades. He actually said, "I love my job" once he diagnosed the problem. Emmett has been amazing! From the Friday evening when he dropped by our newly purchased home to give my wife and me an estimate to when we came home this afternoon to find all the electric work completed, we have had the best possible experience with him and his team. When he dropped by after a full day of work to provide us an estimate, Emmett went over our needs and wants in great detail, and gave us the information we needed to better make an informed decision about what work needed to be prioritized. He also didn't nickel and dime us based on each and every outlet and switch being updated or replaced, simply giving us a fair, flat fee. After meeting with two contractors who provided us with some oddball estimates and then consulting with a friend who gave us a better idea of what to ask for and what to expect to pay, Emmet was a breath of fresh air. He also has a very friendly and personable demeanor, and really made us feel comfortable and at ease. We ended up deciding to replace our outdated main and sub panel, to have four GFCI outlets installed, four grounded outlets installed throughout the house and the rest of the outlets and switches replaced. In addition, Emmett and his team discovered that our range would need an updated circuit when the first day's work was complete. Work started yesterday (a Saturday), first thing in the morning and continued through today. Not only was his team willing to work on a weekend, but they were able to complete all of the work, including the extra item for the range, in less time than originally estimated. We came home this afternoon to find all of the work done, and looking great! We still have future electric work to be done, since we're working with a budget, but everything that has been done has been first class work and we'll be contacting Emmett again the next time we have work to be done. Also, I've seen a couple of reviews about Emmett not showing or being difficult to contact. For me, this was never an issue. As I mentioned before, he went out of his way to keep our Friday night appointment after already putting in a full day of work. He was up front about running late because the job he had was running over. I think the first time I called, I did get his voice mail, which was full, but he called me back at the number that came up within five minutes. When the road paving crew knocked down our electric line, we needed some repairs to get re-connected. I spoke to Emmet on the phone about an issue that I was not sure was my dishwasher or my circuit/ outlet. After asking me some pertinent questions Emmet suggested that problem is probably my dishwasher and he did not want to charge me $90 for a service call to tell me the same thing. I appreciated this. I have definitely had service providers charge me for a visit and tell me there was nothing they could do for me. Emmett Zediker is the man. I was re-purposing a 220 dryer outlet for use with a 220 table saw. There's a world of crazy plug shapes when you move to 220. I had nearly made my adapter cord when I realized I didn't know for certain which prong had to be wired to which.
