I called and spoke with Emmett Zediker and was able to schedule a time for him to come by within a couple days. He found out what the problem was, fixed it and offered options so this would not happen again. He charges a $100 per hour. In speaking with him I discovered that he is a Master Electrician and has been in the industry over 10+ years and does everything including rewiring houses though for bigger jobs he would give a total job price and not charge by the hour. This guy is a crook flat out. I received a bid for $8200 for a job that took my friend a licensed electrician less than 8 hours to do including buying the parts. The total of the parts came to $300. So by that measure this crook charges $1000 an hour for labor. More than any crooked lawyer. In addition, he told the tenants living in the house that the whole house needed to be rewired which made them think the house is unsafe to live in. Of course he did that in an attempt to rip me off further. This has caused me additional headaches with my tenants. It is unethical for a contractor not communicate information to a tenant prior to making a proposal to the landlord first. Help me put this guy out of business permanently. He wildly overcharges and is not ethical. read more

I really did not want to write this review because I always try to use small local services. I've used Emmett for some work in the past and he did an acceptable job, but he's blown me off on more than one occasion now. I think the only reason he returned my call this time was because I "butt dialed" him. Until then I received no return call from a call I made two days earlier. so we made an appointment for him to come to my house in a couple of days. I made a special effort to be there in plenty of time. He never showed, never called. Apparently he does not want to do work for me. I've always paid at the time of service and am polite and cordial with him. I have no idea what I did to cause this childish behavior but I certainly will not be calling him again read more

I did a full remodel of my home and Emmett was the electrician. He was able to install my towel warmers, my heated floors, as well as redoing my panel. His work was beyond my expectations. I called Emmett Zediker to troubleshoot some track lighting. It was behaving peculiarly and worried me that it may be unsafe. The previous owner of this house had asked an electrician to fix it and he could not. I called Zediker Electric. Emmett found the problem. After a complete assessment, he diagnosed two causes -- incorrect hookup at the initial installation and a broken insulation on one wire. He fixed both and everything works fine now. Because I was interested, throughout the process he explained what he was doing and why. I definitely will call Zediker Electric again if I need more electrical work. I am not employed by Zediker. My husband called Emmett on Thursday and and made an appointment for him to price our work on Saturday at 1PM. He was on time and quoted us a very reasonable price of $90 an hour to move 2 ceiling light fixtures, which included rewiring a junction box, adding a dimmer switch and provided a switch plate. He was quick completing the work - under 2 hours - and also help put together our stand for our new composter. Emmett was someone we will definitely use again when we have our flat screen TV mounted to the wall and any other electric work. Very nice - very competent. read more

Sadly I just looked up fraud on Wikipedia and this guys picture came up. I had work done back in November just before thanksgiving and was waiting on a light fixture to be ordered and to have a few other things done such as somehow getting my laundry room light to work and also to switch out a closet light (all of those parts he had). He said he would talk to me after thanksgiving and ha never heard from him. Finally after holiday life calmed down I remembered he had not been in contact and was very good about not returning calls. I finally get ahold of him towards the end of January and he gives me a huge pity party for himself as to how sick he had been.... I just happen to be his neighbor and saw the endless parties he threw as well as putting up a huge 25 or so foot tree all while supposedly being so deathly ill. I'm not blind guy! Well any who so when I finally get ahold of this guy he tells me he will be at my house on Monday February 9th because he will be out of town the week prior. Well he has been a no show. I will now be contacting a reliable electrician and be billing ZEDIKER for the work. I get that a fixture had to be ordered but he has made no effort to do the other work that he has already been paid for. All I can say is do not play with my money or my time. I lost money today taking the day off to deal with him and all for a no show. So much for going of the said good reviews he had and giving him a chance.... The reviewers all were probably partying with him during his many parties. read more

We had a terrible experience with Emmett. We found out we had a problem with his work in August. He didn't want to fix it at all (even though it was his mistake), but he finally agreed. However, each time we made an appt. for him to do the work, he cancelled with a new excuse each time. He finally fixed it 6 months later. He wasted a lot of our time for something that took him a half a day to do. If he was up on the current PGE regulations this problem would not of happened in the first place. read more

With only 7 more days of the holiday shopping season left, one of the major light fixtures in my retail shop went out. I knew it required an electrician, as I've had this problem before. I called around until I found someone who promised that they could have a new fixture ordered and installed within 48 hours. Unfortunately, that was an overpromise to say the least, and without going into tedious detail, 48 hours later I was no closer to having the issue resolved. I was back at square one. I found Emmett on Yelp and based on the reviews called him up. Even though I was calling at the end of the day, he offered to come right away to take a look at the problem. After some discussion over the phone, we decided it would be best for me to go out and try to shop for the fixture myself at a couple of local lighting stores early in the morning (he advised me on how to find the right one) and he was scheduled to come the following day. When he showed up for the job, he was on-time, with help for quicker completion, and promptly finished the job within the time promised. And all throughout the process, he was one of the most courteous, professional, and prompt service providers I've ever worked with. Emmett just repaired the parking lot lights at our manufacturing plant. It was tricky troubleshooting because of multiple failures in the same circuit, but he tracked them all down, repaired the wiring, and installed two new lights and a new photocell in two hours. Zediker Electric is not your grandfather's electrician. Nothing old-school here. Except perhaps an appreciation for work well done. We called him for something minor, but while he was here I asked if he would spent the rest of the hour going over problems with our 1950s house. We have a lot of Mickey Mouse areas that need to be updated. He pointed out wiring, circuits, etc. not up to code and why we should have them fixed and in what order of priority. He seems very conscientious and attentive to details. I'm looking forward to seeing more work from him. read more

I am so grateful to Emmet! Our power went out this afternoon - we flipped a switch in the garage, heard a thudding noise, and the whole house went dark. The circuit breakers seemed to be fine, which made us concerned that something might be seriously wrong. When I called Emmet to ask if he could come over to take a look, he talked with me to determine whether the problem was local or with PG&E, asked questions about the electrical box, and figured out what was wrong (although the circuit breakers seemed like they were in the right position, it turned out that we had to flip them back and forth a few times to restore power). We really appreciate Emmet's generosity in sharing his professional expertise free of charge, and will definitely contact him if we have electrical issues in the future! read more
