I never feel like we do the same workout twice. Great music to keep you amped up too. I've only been going here for 1.5 months and already feel like my stamina has increased significantly. It feels GREAT! These classes have a great sense of motivating community, can be adapted by a variety of fitness levels, from "I need to get off the couch" to "I want a six pack", and are a great value if you show up 4-5 times a week for what you pay. The class times work REALLY well with my schedule, and are at 5:45 or 7am Mon-Fri, 4:30, 5:30, and 6:30pm Mon-Fri, I believe 8 or 9am on Sat, and 9am Sunday.

Pros: Great staff…read more Great energy. Class members are supportive. Classes and workouts are easy to follow but always challenging. You'll never outgrow the system. The app allows you to track progress and has daily workouts easy to do at home. It's worth the money if you show up at least 5 days each week. Cons: There's a published "fine" for cancelling a class too late or no showing but the Timonium location has doubled it. This mostly affects the 6 & 7 am classes and early weekend classes. I will note if you have a one time legitimate reason to miss unexpectedly you can ask for forgiveness. Recently they've increased the class maximum size but the space the gym is in can't really handle the extra people and it often feels too crowded when they jam the class.

When cancelling I still got charged $70 just to cancel. Really great feeling knowing I had to choose to either cancel my membership, eat another $20 despite not going to the gym as much lately (depression is a struggle), or get food/groceries. Disappointing. I tried to read what I could before signing up, but I guess I missed something that wasn't made very obvious. What does no commitment mean in this sense? I don't really understand now. This problem is not unique to this gym chain--This happens at most, if not all of them. Still I hoped theyd be different. Egg on my face. I will not return. I'd rather save money for my own weights and a treadmill at home. Oh well.

I think there's no better value in the Baltimore area. I've been to Merritt, and although it's closer to where I live, I refuse to pay those premium prices. I was a member of Under Armour Performance Center downtown, and although that space is spectacular, the parking was a nightmare. I drive 15 minutes each way to Gold's in Dundalk and I don't have to worry about parking and I have access to a world class gym. There's something about Dundalk, but the people here are friendly and polite. You don't get a douchey vibe here. The gym went through the $1M renovation roughly 4 years ago and they are still adding machines/equipment to this day. They shuffle equipment around from time to time and relocate/repurpose. It's neat seeing the transformation. A couple of gripes I have with this gym is the dumbbell rack and the weights in the wrong place. I've provided feedback on my issues with this for years. There used to be free weights all over the floor. This has improved, but members still do not place dumbbells where they belong. I think this gym needs to label the racks so members know where each weight belongs. It looks like they may have added or upgraded the racks, but there is still some improvement that can be made. Secondly, the men's locker room is pretty gross. It seems like they tried doing something with the lockers, but the toilets and floors are pretty nasty. I do my best to not have to go in there, but I don't know if they have the means to improve this space.

This Pilates House in Fells Point was my very first introduction to Pilates, and now that I've been…read moreto three different studios across a couple companies, I can confidently say this one stands out. From the start, they did a great job making me feel prepared and welcomed. They provided clear, helpful information about what to expect as a first-timer and even what to bring--details that can make a big difference when you're new and unsure. This information is on their website but I also called ahead of time to verify. The studio itself is clean, fresh, and modern--an inviting space that feels great to work out in. The staff are quite kind, friendly, and well-organized. I appreciate how attentive and helpful they were during class. They gently stepped in with guidance when needed in a way that felt supportive --something I really appreciated. I've now taken two classes here: a reformer class and a hot Pilates class. Both were enjoyable in totally different ways, and I'd highly recommend trying both to see what works for you. Personally, I found a new joy with the reformer--it's such a unique and effective workout. But I also enjoyed the hot room, which offered an amazing sweat session and left me feeling less tense and well stretched from all the good blood flow. I'm so glad I started my Pilates journey here, and I definitely hope to return for more classes in the future!

Another update! Back to report that the new configuration of spin class downstairs and mat classes…read more(like yoga, barre, and pilates) upstairs works very well. I've been loving Monday night spin classes with Zain - he is an incredible instructor with the best playlists. His class is some of the most fun I've had at a workout class. It feels more like dancing with a group of friends than working out. I bike about 10 miles in his 45 minute class which is something I just never thought I'd be capable of. I've also been enjoying Wednesday evening barre classes upstairs with Erin. This is a new class and I hope they keep it on the schedule! Erin is a great instructor who queues very clearly and makes the class feel fun with her high energy. As someone who primarily weight lifts, barre is such a refreshing challenge for me. I feel like I'm learning a whole new skill set in that class. For a bit, I was also liking the Thursday evening mat pilates class with Chi but they seemed to have taken it off the schedule now :( The weight training areas continue to be conducive for a great workout. My only wish would be that they replace some of the elliptical machines with treadmills. When the gym gets a little busy, it's easy for the treadmills to fill up pretty fast since there's about 8 treadmills total. Whereas, there's probably twice as many ellipticals and I don't think I've ever seen more than a few people using them at a time. I'm also not a huge fan of the fact that you now how to ask the front desk for a towel - this isn't something I've seen at any of the other locations. The bathrooms are a bit outdated and could use some updating as well.
