The time that I spent going to Paul's gym was excellent. I really enjoyed the close attention to form and the small classes. They also offered many different times that fit my schedule well. While I no longer live in Baltimore and don't attend classes there anymore I would love to come back if I move back to the area. read more

I have only gone to a handful of classes so far but so far so good! This is a really down-to-earth place and I like the workout style, alternating in 6-min cycles. I usually go to the Strength & Conditioning classes and I like alternating between strength and cardio unlike OTF classes, where you are on the treadmill for 30 min. straight-through (which I think would be horrible for the knees after a while...). Paul is a really nice guy and seems to have a lot of integrity and I have liked the other instructors as well. I do hope they continue to grow and that they can offer additional classes at different times. read more

Peak Performance is a gem...here are the two main reasons I love it: 1) The HIIT workouts are intense, efficient and tailorable. As a mom of two young kids I need to make the best use of the precious time I can eek out for exercise...the classes are holistic (strength training and cardio), and the group setting with skilled, motivating instructors pushes me to exert myself way more than I would on my own or with a DVD. I went to Peak before, during and after my pregnancies and was always able to modify the exercises to what I could do and loved that I was able to monitor my heart rate on the screens displayed in the workout room. 2) Paul (the owner) really cares about the members and sets policies that are reasonable and encourage us to stay engaged. I am enrolled in the unlimited plan, but over the years I've had to freeze my membership several times due to personal circumstances that prevented me from going to the gym for extended periods of time. Paul and his team (I worked closely with Melissa) were so kind and considerate and really went above and beyond to help me not lose money and allow me to come back as soon as I was able. Just took my first peak performance class and whoa it was amazing! Excellent workout, kept my heart rate up the entire time as well as got an excellent sweat on. I have never taken an orange theory class but hear that peak is very similar if not the same as orange theory. Looking at the price, appears that you can do unlimited class for $99 a month. Class times very but are very accommodating to a 9-5 schedule. One nice touch, there are hair ties, towels and water provided for you. They also give you a heart rate monitor to wear during your workout, mine wasn't working unfortunately. Looking forward to another class in the future. read more

This is a HIIT style workout similar to orange theory. 6 sets of workouts alternating between cardio and strength. I found this through classpass and it's pretty much the only class I take in Baltimore now. It's great if you like a high intensity workout that gets you sore the next day. I've tried many gyms and workout regimens in my lifetime and have never been able to commit long-term (and by long term, I mean greater than 2 weeks!). With Peak, the workouts are fun, the classes are small and non intimidating, and the instructors care about your form and are very encouraging. Every workout is different and presents new challenges so I'm never bored! The studio is always clean with top of the line equipment. I'm greeted by name when I walk in the door. It feels like a family. It's been about 2 months now and I'm still encouraged so kudos to Peak Performance. I don't know how you did it. read more

Peak is great! The workouts are challenging and because they offer heart rate monitors I could see that I always burned over 400-500 calories in each class. I love that they use a method that involves both conditioning and weights for optimal results. The classes are usually small so you never feel intimidated and the trainers are able to give everyone one on one attention if needed. It is also one of the most affordable boot camp type studios in the area and they offer packages for classes if you do not want to do the unlimited monthly plan. read more

Love this place. Been going about 3 months and I've lost about 15 lbs and have biceps now...which is awesome and new for me. Haha Paul is the trainer and he's super nice and excellent at providing feedback and encouragement, as well as any modifications on exercises as needed. Each session is broken down into 3 main cardio & weight-related segments with brief but built in 'recovery' time; the hour flies by and the workout is always challenging. I live in LA and have been in town visiting my family and my best friend suggested I check out Peak. I have been to countless studios in California, but Peak has to be the best workout of them all. Paul is awesome, and the concept of competing against yourself and seeing live results really keeps you motivated. This is my favorite workout/gym I've come across. It incorporates both cardio and strength for a full body HIIT workout. Cardio consists of rowing, treadmill (sprint, jog, walk on incline), jumping jacks, speed squats, etc. and strength uses dumbbells, kettle bells, and sand bags. But you switch in between every 6 minutes! I've been going for a few months now and I've never done the same workout twice. I love the heart rate monitors. It helps you push yourself and makes it a little competitive. Paul is great, he knows everyone by name and makes you feel comfortable from day 1. I highly recommend this place!! read more

PEAK Performance is the best. Paul is amazing and one of the nicest trainers I have ever met. I started at PEAK looking to lose weight and get back on track with fitness and I ended up getting hooked on the group training. I quickly became a monthly member and went practically every single day. The team really makes it a fun, quick workout and help you achieve the fitness results you want. The day I moved from Baltimore was incredibly sad, not because I was leaving one of my favorite places but because I had grown to love PEAK and knew I would never find a gym that compared to the service, atmosphere and energy that PEAK has. My wife and I have gone to several different gyms in Baltimore and this one is our favorite. Training sessions are fun and challenging, creating an atmosphere that is perfect for improvement no matter your fitness skill. The personal attention from each trainer during workout sessions is very helpful and people can receive help on their form if/when they need it. I went to Baltimore for the weekend and needed to work out so I tried out Peak. LOVED the workout and was so glad I read the reviews and went ahead and tried it out. The trainer was patient and gave clear instructions for every move - he also offered corrections when needed (which so many trainers don't do unfortunately).
