I've been on a weight loss journey since November 2025, and EA Fit Club has become an important…read morepart of that journey. I started with water aerobics, and in May I added EA Fit Club to challenge myself in a new way. In just 12 sessions, Eric Atherton has pushed me beyond what I thought I was capable of while making sure the workouts can be adapted to different fitness levels. As someone who's 6'2" and larger than anyone else in my classes, I appreciate that I can work at my own pace while still being challenged every single class. I've never felt like I didn't belong or that the space wasn't made for me. I'm currently down 55 pounds overall, and EA Fit Club has helped me build strength, confidence, and consistency. Believe me, after every workout my body lets me know I put in the work--but that's exactly why I keep coming back. Eric is encouraging, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in seeing everyone succeed. If you're looking for a supportive community and a coach who will challenge you while meeting you where you are, I highly recommend EA Fit Club.

The workout was about an hour, and was a station based workout - with rotations at each station. Get ready to get your sweat on! It was a great combo of HIIT style exercises - both cardio and lifting with varying weights so adjust for strength. I loved how hands on Coach Eric was - constantly giving demos, offering tips, and checking on all the clients throughout the workout. The group was great - everyone was friendly and encouraging, exactly what you want in small group fitness! It sounds like this gym also offers personal training throughout the week. I'd definitely recommend this gym to anyone looking for a fun, tough workout, with a great group and coach!!

Initially I was excitedly about this gym, however the excitement changed when I realized that this…read morecompany is not transparent or honest. I went to the gym to inquire about their training (personal) and everything seemed okay. I asked about pricing and exceptions The man in the front explained everything however what was not posted or even stated was their agreement rules. I was told that upon signing up I would receive a call to set up a day and time with the trainer; 299 for 4 weeks one day a week. When I signed up it was the beginning of the month ( February 2nd) strike 1 did not receive a call to schedule until a week later, strike two could not match schedules so I asked them to cancel my membership and because we could not find something that matches our schedules and I never was given services to refund me. They said in their agreement that they do not do refunds. Where is the agreement posted in their gym, and it was never sent to me. I literally had to search their website to find information. I disputed the transaction within my bank and lost...ok fine but now they say I owe 65 after multiple emails telling them I want nothing to do with company is crazy. This company is not honest, not transparent, and my experience has been the worst!

I attended my first class at Mayweather as I was considering becoming a member. I spoke with Travis…read morea few times on the phone about my options and he was super helpful with helping me understand what Mayweather has to offer. I got to class 15 minutes early as requested. There wasn't anyone at the front desk but I overheard an explanation being provided of to someone so I listened in. The space is an open room with cubbies for your belongings and then a front desk area with some retail and a few hi top tables. The class started at 12:10 and is shown on the television. The workout itself is a circuit that gets you to all of the stations including some strength work, cardio and ends with abs. I loved the strength and ab work and the music. Other than that I didn't care for the combination of the television guide, the 4 different types of boxing bags (I prefer the aqua bag) or the bright lights during the workout. The set-up reminded me of orange theory which wasn't for me the few times I tried it. I think 7-8 stations going at once was also too distracting for me. The instructor was really nice and did his best to check in on everyone but it wasn't enough for me, I couldn't keep up with all the competing voices and movements. If you're seeking a fast paced full body workout you should check out this location.

Let's start with, I hate exercise. But somehow I really enjoy going to this gym and the people I've…read moremet there. There's no attitude or competition, and the clients are of all ages. It's run by two amazing, friendly women, one of whom trains my little group with great humor, flexibility, and attention to our needs. The exercises are staged to our various fitness levels and she's always encouraging us to do a little better each visit. Highly recommend!

Arenal Fitness is a CrossFit affiliate in Pikesville. I became acquainted with them through a…read moreGroupon offer, and I'm really glad I gave them a try. Treadmills and typical group classes weren't cutting it for me; it all felt like a boring waste of time. CrossFit is a pretty intense experience, but they emphasize scaling things to your current level and make it doable for yourself (but not easy! Never easy!). It's a stripped-down style of training, focusing heavily on using good form and developing functional strength (probably why it's so popular with military, police officers, and firefighters). The equipment is all very simple - free weights, jump ropes, barbells, kettlebells, plyo boxes, etc. Every day, there is a different WOD (workout of the day) to keep your body guessing. Typical activities include body-weight work (pull-ups, push-ups, dips, squats), weight lifting, running, jumping. All of the trainers are knowledgeable, SUPER friendly, and encouraging, but they don't let you get away with bad form or half-assed efforts. Everybody cheers you on to get yourself up there for that that last pull-up. The goal is to leave having surprised yourself with what you were able to do. I think the recent Groupon deal brought in a surge of new members, so if you're new to this sort of workout, don't be shy about showing up for a demo or the Basics class sessions. There will be tons of newbies there figuring things out with you. There are also plenty of serious athletes who work out here; it's cool to see them do amazing things and imagine getting up to that level someday. Arenal is located at the far end of the The Shops at Quarry Lake, so if you get there super early or have the wherewithal after class, you could run errands. There's tons of free parking as well, and easily accessible from 695. Price-wise, Arenal seems comparable to other CrossFit gyms in the area (leaning toward cheaper, actually) and describes its pricing as "a la carte". They have many levels of membership, from pay-per-class to monthly unlimited classes to full 24/7 access if you're comfortable training on your own. Every review has to include some cons. The locker room situation isn't the best. There are 3 unisex changing rooms, 2 of which have shower stalls. For stashing your stuff, there is only a small bank of lockers. Most of us pile our stuff on the floor in a corner. I'm lucky to have time to change at home before class; otherwise, my nice work clothes could get pretty crumpled. Also, the gym seems pretty full these days, so be prepared to share equipment, alternate sets with people, and wait a little while for your turn. That's not THAT big a deal, though, is it? Pretty standard gym stuff. Long story short (too late!), Arenal is a great, diverse gym for people looking to challenge themselves. Definitely worth a look.
