Love supporting this local business! Came on a Friday morning and we got three donuts. Two cake donuts and one raised. The raised donut with chocolate frosting was good and nice and soft. The chocolate cake donut with chocolate frosting was good. There are definitely better chocolate cake donuts in the area but this location is close by. A friend of mine raved about their maple bars and since we are maple bar fans, I had to go and investigate. Purchased 4 maple bars and 2 regular size donuts. First off, they charge $1.99 for their maple bars, which is pricey! Our all time favorite donut shop is Cowboy Donuts in Spanish Fork, but today, didn't brave the drive. They are def worth the 45 minutes round trip EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Today, I was cramped for time and settled to come here. Cowboy charges 50 cents less for their maple bars, and quality is far more superior than Daylight donuts. I noticed their regular size donuts are a bit smaller than Cowboys too. The texture of Daylight donuts is a bit more dense than what I'm used to. I took a couple of bites of the maple, a bite of their glazed, and a bite of their chocolate iced. In my opinion, not worth the calories! I consider myself a donut connoisseur - and if you do too, this place is not for you. Lesson learned, just do the drive to Cowboy Donuts if you want quality/superior donuts. The gal who helped me was friendly enough though. I asked her why the maple bars are so expensive, and she said flour prices have gone up, and their donuts are hand made. Well guess what, so is Cowboy Donuts! I have been going to this Daylight since I was little with my grandma. Going today was out of pure nostalgia, and it was amazing! From the friendly smile at the drive through window offering my dog a treat to the amazing donuts. I love an old fashioned donut, and theirs hit the spot! We also got a variety of others and it may have change my favorite! We asked for filled donuts and got a raspberry jelly, peaches and some sort of cream and a raspberry cream. The filled ones still seemed warm, it was 845am. This might be a new weekend routine! They were so good! The line inside was out the door and the drive through line had several cars, so get there early! read more

This is, without a doubt, the most kind customer service and best tasting donut shop I've ever visited. I just returned from my first of many visits this morning. Let me tell you a short, meaningful story about this donut store and my father, a veteran, who just passed away last week... My father visited Daylight Donuts every day they were open (6 days a week) for over 10 years. His most common selection was 2 unfrosted cake donuts until October 2017 when he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. It was at this point that one of the kind workers at Daylight Donuts suggested maybe it was time that Dad "branch out a bit". She got him to try the raspberry bear claw, which I had this morning and it was DELICIOUS! I and 3 of my 8 siblings each visited and ate a donut in honor or our father. True to form, the owner's granddaughter said, "If my grandpa were here this morning he would give your donuts for no charge!" Sometimes I waver between here and the Provo Bakery, but having recently left the state of Utah, there is something nostalgic and classic that makes me yearn for Daylight Donuts. Once a month we take a group of our church's 12-13 yr olds here after doing service early in the morning to treat them to a doughnut. When we've arrived after 7am, they are sometimes low on the best doughnut on the whole planet: bear claws with a light cream-cheese inner layer and fruit filling. You will want to come back for more, but by the time you do, they will be gone. So if you get there early enough, order as many cream cheese bears claws as you can while the selection is still good. So order lots while the getting is good. Our boys love them so much, they often bring their own money to order a few more. My favorite is raspberry cream, blueberry cream and apricot cream, but there are many other flavors they do this bear claw in. They make specialty fritters, and my son adores their maple "Long Johns". It is a family-owned place, in a little run-down shack, that has been doing the same thing for 20 or 30 years, which says a lot about the quality and service. The owner has an interesting Pez collection that is displayed around the store's glass. Unless our group of 12 boys is in front of you, the service is great and they should have you on your way, with a warm, hand-made doughnut melting in your mouth, within a minute or so of stepping inside, or going through the drive-through. read more

I am a full journeyman baker. The donuts I tried today were not proofed properly, plus there was no white middle band indicating the donut rose at all in the fryer. Thus the cinnamon twist and maple bar we tried were dense and oily, rather than light and fluffy. If the bakeries I managed produced the yeast raised donuts I saw and tasted today (not the cake donuts - they looked fine) I would've thrown the entire batch out, deeming the unfit to serve. And, from other reviews that discuss the density of these donuts, it appears this is not unusual for this location, anyway. I usually also order a raised glazed donut when checking out a donut shop, but they looked so flat and pitiful that I knew it wouldn't be a good experience. Again, these donuts are so poorly made that if you like them or hate them, it doesn't really mean you like or hate donuts. Very slow at the drive thru. I literally waited for 15 minutes at the drive thru window. The donuts were expensive for what you get. It was my mistake to ask for a half and half variety, and not give specific instructions, because the lady seriously gave me donuts I've never had before, which I think were the least favorites and had been sitting around for forever (no maple bars!). The raspberry fritter which looked the most appealing out of the variety had the texture of a Quaker Rice Cake, seriously! Sad experience. These are our FAVORITE donuts in Utah county. We get some most Saturdays! The strawberry cream cheese bear claw and just the plain glazed are my favorites. They run out of all the best donuts by like 11:00 Saturday mornings though so definitely go earlier rather than later. It's worth it! read more

They have some really good dough nuts. The Nutella Bear Claw is sooo good. Its got that whole in the wall dough nut shop feel that is awesome and it is great food to top it all off. This is a cool little location. It's basically just a drive-thru or walk-up (there's maybe a seat or two if you want to eat there). The donuts are pretty good, too. I actually like the chocolate bars from Macey's better, but these are still tasty. We love looking at the Pez dispensers in the outside window, too. Be sure to get there early though, because they'll definitely sell out of the best donuts. read more

I just moved away from Utah and I am missing this place! Their donuts are perfect and they have an amazing variety. My husband says they have the best maple bar in the world and I am more of a chocolate girl but any of the chocolate cake donuts, or raised with chocolate frosting are great for a fix and the chocolate honeybun is phenomenal. Donuts are one of the three great loves of my life: pizza, donuts, and my husband. (But not always in that order.) My family has been going to the Daylight Donuts location in Pleasant Grove for almost 20 years, and I can honestly say that my love for donuts began when I had my first Daylight Donuts maple bar at the age of 6. I have tried donuts at upward of 100 different places, and I have yet to find ANYWHERE with better donuts. I mean seriously...their maple bars and donut holes are to die for! I have never had a bad experience here with food, customer service, or parking, which is very impressive considering the number of times I've stopped by. However, this wouldn't be an honest review if I didn't bring up the only downside I've noticed about this place: this is a small store, and occasionally, they are a little overcrowded. The line inside can be out the door, or even backed up all the way to the street for the drive-through window. This tends to happen on Saturday mornings. I would suggest getting there early in the morning or maybe around lunchtime on Saturdays, or going on a different day of the week.
