I bought the $30 card for $25 for my kids to share. We wanted to just play a few games to pass the time. Not too busy on a Saturday morning. My kids wanted to do claw machines so badly, and fortunately we were able to win ticket rolls on some of them. Skeeball was fun and only 20 cents a game. We ended up with over 2,400 tickets after all was said and done. We loved the Zelkys buttons and stickers we were able to get with our tickets. I thought the elephant was cute enough to walk down and buy a souvenirs coffee mug. The little paper hats were the cutest thing too. read more

If I go to an arcade, I expect to spend some money. For $40, the three of us had a BLAST playing these games, even as adults. We also went up to the rooftop to play mini golf, which I would also recommend. It was SO much fun, and the view is great. Zelky's Arcade South is a very good arcade experience on the Rehoboth Beach, DE boardwalk. When I visited they were celebrating 40 years in business. I appreciate it here because there's an 80's and 90's retro feel with the gaming selection and atmosphere, which is nostalgic and I enjoy. This is one of few examples of a business that doesn't invest in major upgrades over time and it pays off as the aging interior produces character. There's a variety of retro and contemporary games here. They have good prizes here for young and older players and the machines are not stingy with awarding winnings. Especially the mechanical claw machine games which seemed to be very generous in awarding winnings. The attendants were also friendly and especially when exercising patience with kids taking their time to peruse prize options. Overall a good experience and I will visit again when at Rehoboth Beach. read more

Every single claw machine is a scam. I spent 125 dollars on claw machines and didn't win a single thing. I'm not exaggerating, this place has 2.8 star rating for a reason. This arcade was the only one open on the boardwalk during spring break, mid to late April. Apparently it was too early to catch the full on swing of unadulterated boardwalk commerce buzzing about. After hours of beach fun, go karting, ($30!!) Sweet Frog Yogurt (Yes $30, I'll get to that in another review) and kid sweatshirt shopping, I really was desperate for a cost effective option as the finishing touch to the night for the kids before dinner. Herein lies, low & behold, like an ice cream truck mirage cutting through the Saharan heat in the dog days of summer, it was, it was, *drumroll please* Beach Arcade South. First thing I thought of was how financially agreeable this arcade was for my budget. Reasonably priced in arcades speak harmonically to me as a consumer. My two kids spent a grand total of $20; so for about $10 a piece they were in the arcade for about 40-45 mins. The arcade had a good mixture of games, prizes, and trinkets that kids could exchange for tickets from gaming. Prizes in the claw machine games were most impressive to me. They had all kinds of cute fluffy bears/Ty Beanie babies, Xbox & PS4 items, and even some nicer designer wallets & accessories for moms. I must admit I was mesmerized a tad by the bright displays, multi-tonal game chimes and surprisingly vast selection of games. Customer Service wise it was okay....HOWEVER big shout out to Bri who was a nice lady exchanging tickets for gifts at the gift area. **True Quick Story**: So my God Son comes out with a boomerang from this place from Bri. We leave the arcade and outside on the boardwalk I try the boomerang. Impressively enough it starts to return to me after the throw however a gust of wind hits the boomerang and it lands behind the store sign on the roof attached to the arcade. Without thinking my daughter runs back into the store saying she will tell the lady who gave it to her (Bri) and see if she was willing to give her another. I go into the store behind my daughter because of course I am skeptic that this "lady" is going to say "oh okay your dad boomeranged your new boomerang on our roof.....of course I'll give you another." But Bri did, and she made our night!! From that point I asked her name, for yelping purposes and it was Bri. Bri nice to be in your acquaintance and thanks for allowing us the opportunity to try the boomerang tomorrow morning on the open beach. Fellow Yelpers this is a prime example of how great customer service can really make all the difference in a marketplace transaction for myself. I started my morning out declaring that this day was all about putting positive into the world and throughout my environment. A nice variety of redemption games including every crane thinkable. They had a crane with prizes of Xbox or a PlayStation 4. I don't think they are won ever. They also had air hockey. The place was a little light on video games. One huge plus was they did have not one, but four pinball machines! I love pinball! If you love pinball, this appeared to be the only arcade on the area with pinball. read more

I cannot express how much hatred I have for this arcade. The ticket system is outrageous, each game will get you about 10 tickets and 500 tickets can get you about 2.3 blow pops. And one game is about $0.50. The service is absolutely horrible, the workers seemed to hate their jobs, and they were very rude to me when I needed help. Although they have two arcades, in between them is another arcade called playland. And playland is about the exact opposite of beach arcade. I met the owner and she was very nice and helped out. And her ticket system was amazing compared to beach arcade. She also has better games in her arcade like pad man, and it's cheaper too! And when I was there with the tickets I had left, I got some tootsie rolls. But she accident key gave me six, so I handed one back to her. But then she replied by telling me... thanks for being honest! Have another! So I ended up getting two extra instead. read more
