We haven't been here in quite a while due to not living in town, but tonight we called in a pickup order and while we did enjoy the food and highly recommend this place, I had an "experience" with one of the young ladies behind the counter as I entered the store to pick up our food... I pulled into the large, EMPTY parking lot and parked in a spot directly in front of the store, the spot that's right in front of a huge hole in the lot, and as I walked in and was greeted by a very sweet little boy, couldn't have been a day over 2-3 years old, who was trying his best to make me take his fortune cookie.. but the sweet and innocent interaction was interrupted by an employee that loudly exclaimed, "you whipped that thing on up in here! Clearly you don't care about civilians!" and then disappeared into the kitchen. I'm not entirely sure how anyone could "whip" their car into said spot, especially after just braking and driving through the previously mentioned hole, but I'm mainly curious about the "civilians" she mentioned because like I said, the entire lot was EMPTY. Maybe she's a medium and sees the dead, who knows. If that's the case, it may do her some good to keep that tidbit of information in mind so she doesn't come off as rude or "crazy"... Also - I'm not a complete fool and it irks me enough to continue typing this review, but the blind accusation that I'm a careless person that has no regard for anything or anything but myself once I'm behind the wheel of a car seems pretty wild... especially if she's paid enough attention to actually notice that I was in the middle of a very sweet and innocent interaction with a child, that she interrupted and loudly exclaimed this nonsense in front of the mother of said child, who was trying to check out with another employee and the third employee was attempting to take a phone order... but the fact that she felt the need to say anything at all but then immediately disappeared to the kitchen when she really should've been the person to help me since the other two ladies were busy... but vanished... just added to her negative score she had going.. but I digress.. ‍ I realize this isn't a huge deal but it got under my skin just enough to write this stupid review. If this was my small business, I'd want to be aware of things like this. I do not want anyone to be disciplined but I do think a quick, private chat about customer service and customer etiquette may not be the worst idea out there. Everyone does things different in life but this establishments set up is pretty quick and easy - so the interactions should be pretty minimal and to the point, I'd like to think - empty introductions and end with a general appreciative line or two onto whatever is next. ...I realize that I'm just one random person that took time to type this thing but who knows how many other people would simply never return or simply bring awareness to leadership. ‍ Again - hopefully a random "glitch" and highly recommend this place. I've never seen a rice bowl like this. The food was not great. There was no taste. It was too much water in the food. And I saw Rat dropping in the bathroom. I will not recommend this restaurant for anyone. read more

Above average traditional strip mall style Chinese food. Nothing to kick it to five stars but nothing to complain about either. The dining options in the area are a bit limited but this is a welcome option. While I stopped in and ordered takeaway, it seems this is the core of the business as lots of people were popping in and picking up food they had ordered ahead of time. There are options for dining in but don't expect a lot of atmosphere or table service. In summary, Zen Asia is a good Chinese option if that's what you are craving when in this little hamlet read more

I would say 7 out of 10 recommend a little over priced for what you get. Not my first choice but definitely not my last.

The service is always good at this restaurant, the workers are very professional and knowledgeable. The food is always good and the pricing is reasonable. I enjoy the atmosphere at the restaurant every time I go, and I never have to wait long even when there are several people in front of me. I picked up lunch there today and I was not disappointed. Zen Asia, a taste of China. There is no other place in Demopolis with such Asian cuisine. They don't use excuses like "winter storm" to close up shop on a day I am hungry. The egg rolls melt in your mouth. What holds Zen Asia back from a 5th star is the lack of WONTON SOUP!!!!!!!!! Overall ok and best in area. Did I mention it's the only in this area? My son and I grabbed to go and while reasonably priced were less than thrilled. Son got Lo Mein. It was ok at best. The fried rice was tasteless really. I got the chicken with broccoli and it was bland also. Overall it was marginal but we will try it again and see if it improves. read more

I ordered to-go twice (the same order of gen tso chicken, white rice, egg roll, egg drop soup). First time the rice was a little weird; second time rice was normal and everything was delicious. I give 4/5 because the rice the first time, but overall the food was really good. They were quick with my order. I'd recommend, especially since there aren't many options in the area. :) read more

My wife stopped in for dinner on a Tuesday night. First of all, be aware that this place isn't much to look at from the outside or inside. The business is obviously geared towards takeout. We ordered a few items to share... sesame chicken, egg drop soup, steamed and fried rice, and egg rolls. Overall the food was very hot and fresh, and also very tasty. The chicken and the fried rice were particularly good, with the egg rolls being the least favorite of the items ordered. Also of note is the serving size. Even though two of us where sharing, we had more than enough to take home with us for later. The staff was very friendly as well. Zen Asia is a really great restaurant. They serve some amazing food that I could eat everyday. Zen Asia is a little pricey but the food you are served is definitely worth it. I usually order the hibachi chicken with fried rice. It's amazing and I literally could eat it for lunch and dinner everyday. Most of my friends eat there and we all love it. So if you're in Demopolis and you love Asian food... Stop at Zen Asia. read more

Just came into Demopolis today on a camping trip and saw the good reviews of this restaurant. Stopped in for lunch and we were very pleased to see how friendly the staff is and how neat and clean the place is kept. The food was fresh and delicious! Ordered shrimp fried rice, not sure how it is prepared or of it it had sat out because some parts was cold and some warm. Called them to discuss the matter, they told me the rice warmer was broken.
