I had an amazing massage with Lily at Zen Day spa yesterday. She understood what I wanted and I left there feeling amazingly relaxed. That exactly what my body needed after 2 weeks of hardly getting any sleep .I gave her a generous tip. One thing to keep in mind if you go in during busy lunch hours, the rooms on the left are sharing the same wall with Mexican restaurant next door. I was there at noon during the restaurant busy lunch hours and I could hear customers talking but Lily was very kind to move me to a room on the right side which was very quiet. I used to visit Zen Day Spa monthly for years but for some reason I stopped. I am going to start my routine again and ask for Lily. The place is very clean and everyone there is very nice. read more

I should have paid more attention to previous reviews. This is not a day spa in any traditional sense of the word. I booked a same day couples massage. The first tip should have been when the person who booked said they preferred cash. When we got there, we were put in a "room" right in the front with a curtain and half walls. We heard people talking and coming and going throughout our massages. Definitely not relaxing. The second tip off was that we were not asked to fill out any forms or asked about any problem areas. We asked for deep tissue and what we got was not even a therapeutic massage, much less deep tissue. Third tip off was that the sheet used to cover and drape was the size of a pillow case. Seriously, it was clear that they were not going to be concerned about proper draping. And sure enough, during the massage, we were not covered appropriately. My bf said that his "therapist" spent way too much time on his ass and touched his nuts more than once. The massages themselves were the crappy kind that you might get on the beach in the Caribbean. More touching than massaging. Afterwards, we both said that this is the kind of place you go for "happy endings". And we both have different reasons for concluding that. During our massage, 2 men came and went and they both got the private rooms with walls and doors. Maybe coincidence... If you are looking for a real massage, take it from 2 people who are experienced clients of massage as a therapy, stay far away from this place. read more

I had about an hour to spare and decided to give this place a try. First impression, wasn't amazing. The masseuse didn't speak English, so communication was a little tricky. I asked if I needed to take off my clothes. She didn't understand my question and then left the room. She came back and was confused why I still had my shirt on. She motioned to take off my clothes. She then stood there while I took my bra and shirt off, which was super awkward! The actual massage was basic. It was super distracting because my room was right next to the Hispanic restaurant next door, as they were blasting their music. I just couldn't relax. At the end, they were tip hungry and asked me to tip more! Feeling obligated, I over tipped. Sad to say, I will not be a returning customer. read more

To be honest, not my favorite place. I was disappointed. I love getting massages and I'm usually open to any place that has great reviews! I was willing to try this place out, but instead I left annoyed and not relaxed. The massage didn't even feel relaxing nor did I feel comfortable whatsoever. My room was right near the bathroom and I kept hearing people flush the toilet each time going to the bathroom. How unprofessional? At least turn up the music in the room to help me not hear that... Be cautious about who you get for a massage. I've had great experiences here before, but last night's massage was the most painful one I've ever had. The masseuse didn't speak English, so she couldn't understand any of the directions I tried to give her. When I asked for a lighter touch, she simply started lightly stroking my back with no pressure. When I requested more pressure, she used her elbow and forearms to dig into my bones, without targeting the muscles at all. It was incredibly painful, and now I have bruises on both shoulder blades. When I tried to explain that her repetitive movements were hurting my shoulder, she misunderstood and started working on that area even more aggressively. At one point, she put all her body weight on my knee cap, and I had to quickly move my leg to avoid further discomfort. It seemed like she had no understanding of human anatomy. Additionally, she completely removed the sheet, which made me feel cold and uncomfortable. I almost considered ending the massage prematurely. After coming home, I had to apply ice, take an Epsom salt bath, and sleep for ten hours in an attempt to recover. My back is still very sore this morning, and I feel like I've been beaten up. Unfortunately, I won't be returning to this place, which is a shame because another masseuse I had in the past was really good. read more

First time was good, hence why I came back. I called saying I'd be there 1:30, arrived at 1:35, they started around 1:40. Was asked if I'm paying cash (which I had done the first time) but I conveniently left my wallet at home so had to use credit card this time. Somewhere it was decided (I'm guessing since I was paying card) that my massage would now be only 50 minutes and not a full hour as it ended at 2:30. They also conveniently automatically added 40% tip making a $50 massage cost $70 when using a credit card. Why not just charge more and leave it up to the customer to tip? I'm not a cheap tipper, but as other reviewers point out, it's just such a shady business practice. Sorry if it inconveniences you that I paid with a credit card this particular instance but don't short me in time. And when I asked about the stamp on the business card she was super rude and said no no that's when you pay cash. I wanted to rip the card in front of her bc it's useless and I won't be back anyway. I'll happily pay much more elsewhere because it defeats the purpose of getting a relaxing massage if you end up walking out annoyed. read more

Masseuses here are very capable and the place is very clean. I've been here several times and the last two times the masseuse hustled me for a "good tip" while massaging me. Furthermore , when I didn't tip what they felt was sufficient, I got a bit of attitude from the front desk lady. The best place in town for a real relaxing massage. My husband and I walked in for a couple full body massage we got a room right away. They were so sweet and professional. I need more pressure on neck, back and my feet (I stand on my feet all day at work), she listened and did what I asked. My husband and I both enjoyed it. They even massaged my scalp and my face. Went to Zen Day Spa tonight. I had a very good massage! For the price, this is a great place! The decor is nice, everything was clean, and the ladies working there are friendly! We were greeted immediately and led to our rooms. No upsell at all! They just ask how long of a massage you want. For the full body massages they have individual little rooms, with 4 walls and a door. The bedding & towels were soft & smelled nice. There is even a little sink in there so you can wash off if you want. They do wipe you off with a warm towel, so it's not really necessary. The massage was wonderful. She asked how much pressure I liked and she stuck to that the whole time. I left feeling so relaxed! I will definitely be back. read more

I've been going to Zen for a few years now. I got my first massage there and never wanted to go anywhere else after my first visit. They are absolutely amazing. I just went in today to their new location and it is beautiful and spacious. The lady was perfect. She walked all over me and massaged me with her feet. You get literally a head to toe massage, front and back. I like it hard, and it was hard. She found every knot in my body and worked each one out. The oils they use are also wonderful. I believe it was a Jasmine essential oil and I smell so good right now. It is a huge stress relief and so relaxing. The prices are absolutely reasonable. $40 to $50 for a full body and full hour. read more

I am giving this place a 2 star review based on my experience with the masseuse. I love getting massages and get them at least once a week, so I am not new to the massage scene. This was my first time visiting zen spa as I was near the area and wanted a massage without having to make an appointment. The massage itself was good but what turned me off with this place was when I went to pay, I offered the masseuse a 20% tip, when she heard the offer she put her head down and started shaking her head and proceeded to argue with me regarding the tip and how I should be paying her more. I told her that a 20% tip is what is customary to which she replied, yes for restaurants but not for a massage. Well I didn't want to sit there and argue with her so I ended up paying her a few extra $$ to just end the conversation. I'm not sure if she is the owner or one of the workers but I found this behavior to be extremely rude and unprofessional. The owner should have a conversation with her staff regarding harassing customers for more tip. Needless to say I will not be returning to this establishment. There are many good massage places around this area that are professional and appreciate your business. read more

Zen Spa is a great spot. You should definitely give it a try. Its clean and very nice. We were walk-ins and were taken immediately. We both enjoyed our massages very much. The girl that I had didn't speak english very well but seemed to understand what I wanted. She dug in and got the places that were bothering me. Unlike some other places in town, I got a decent foot massage, too. Some of these places do great on the body but then just do 1-2 minutes on the feet, this time I got at least a 10-15 minute foot massage. I don't know why there aren't more reviews.
