So awful- I know the massages are really based on the person you got but there's a few other things to consider. Keep in mind that I'm going to massage about every two weeks. I tried a new place because my three back ups were all booked the day I wanted to go. This place is very dirty. They have disgusting carpet that never gets vacuumed in the rooms. I only know this because I dropped my earring and turned the light on and was met with a very gross flooring. They don't use the table extension for you to put your face through. They just give you a little donut with a paper towel on it that's disgusting. You smash your face into the massage table over and over again during the massage. It's ironic because I saw the face hole extension things under the bed when I dropped my earring. They just don't use them. When they have you flip over they give you a pillow to lay your head on. If you turn the light on after your massage I'll see how disgusting that pillow is too. Yuck. Apparently there is a wine tasting room next-door. That sounds very appealing to get a massage and then go winetasting after I guess? However, you can just hear the live music booming through the walls while you're getting a massage. It's not very relaxing. During my experience my lady did not understand what the word "NO" meant. I think that she thinks it means to bruise me over and over and make me stop the massage. My mom and I just got a massage here ($50/hr). When we first walked in, I thought it was odd they demanded payment first before our massage. I thought I would give them a chance so we went into the massage and it was probably one of the worst massages I've gotten in a parlor like this. They went way too close to "down there" and didn't even cover certain areas when they weren't being massaged. I had no oil/lotion used besides on my back and it was not pleasurable. It was more so of a rub versus deep tissue massage. My mom just had foot surgery not too long ago and she asked that they avoid her foot, which they did not and she had to tell them to stop multiple times. At the end, we went to give a $5 tip per massage (10%) and the owner demanded more saying it's a minimum of $10 tip per person. First of all, there's no such thing as a minimum tip. Second, $5 was too generous for the kind of massage we each got. I will not be going back and encourage you to go elsewhere as there are plenty of other great parlors in the area. read more

I have never been treated as unimportant as I was on black Friday at this massage spa. I got back into town and texted the owner of the spa to arrange for a massage at 8:30 pm. I arrived early and they weren't busy, only one client that another masseuse was attending to. I was greeted nicely by the second masseuse, as I've had a session with her previously, and I confirm that I was going to have a one hour session with her as she walked me back to the room. About 30 minutes into my session I heard the bell on the door ring and a commotion in the lobby and a man's voice. The masseuse attending to me said to me, "We're busy now you have only 30 minutes." I told her no and that I wanted the full hour. The next thing I know, the owner comes in and tells me there are 3 customers so I needed to only have 30 minute massage. I said no! I was here first. This is the second time the owner has done this to me. I became furious because of her lack of integrity and her willingness to basically to even ask me to leave before my session was completed. I argued briefly and she told me okay one hour. I was so humiliated and discussed that I was placed in the position that I told her forget it! At that moment it became obvious that she was more concerned about the amount of money those 3 men would bring in as opposed to the cost of my one hour session. Not wanting to make a bigger scene than I had already made I got up, got dress and left. Yes, I paid for the 30 minutes (reluctantly) but I left no tip for this horrible service. I guess she doesn't really care about people, only about money. It's sad really. I have supported her establishment since she became the owner and I'm appalled to be treated like a nobody. I am very disappointed by this place and would not recommend it to anyone. I stopped by this afternoon and the lady wanted the payment UPFRONT and BEFORE the massage even started. On their business card and advertisement they have Visa and MasterCard accepted, but the lady demanded cash only, NO credit card payments. She even asked for the tip upfront, which made no sense since I didn't get my massage yet and haven't decided how much I would like to tip, which would all depend on how the massage was. She finally agreed to allow me to pay the tip when I'm done, but charged me $60.00 upfront and before the massage started. When the massage ended, I stopped by the front area to give a tip. She once again said it has to be CASH ONLY. Being that the massage was $60.00, I thought I was being very generous and gave the massage therapist $20.00, which is a 30% tip. She wasn't happy and asked me to wait while she went and called another lady to come speak to me. The new lady insisted that I pay more. I was embarrassed in front of other people and gave them another $5.00, but she was upset and said I should give them $40.00. When I told her I already gave more than a 30% tip, she started yelling at me, told me to get out and said I was "trash". I was also told to never come back (not that I ever would anyway). I don't understand how someone would treat customers this way and expect to stay in business. Been coming here for years and I have seen the prices go from $40 an hour to $60. I get it, costs have gone up. Today was the third time that part way through the massage I was told they didn't have time for the full 60 mins. Today was the last time for me, they charged me $50 for a 45minute massage and then I was harassed about the amount of the tip I was going to leave. I have always been more then generous on my tips. After years of coming here to have the therapist argue for an extra $10 for a massage that she walked out of the room three times to attend to customers that walked in, and to cut the massage 10 mins short. I was visiting Thousand Oaks and wanted a walk-in massage so I went to Yelp. For me massage is all about pressure and addressing the stresses of the muscles. This is why I prefer "Asian" massage places. $100 for an hour because a place has more spa decor is not what I'm looking for. I'm also weary about some of these smaller shops being shady or dirty but this was not the case. This place is clean (unlike the other negative reviews) and they must have read about the carpets because it was brand new wood floors. The sheets were clean, the women were super nice and great pressure. If you want a place that speaks good English then go elsewhere but if you want a good massage at a beyond good value then yes, it's good. read more

Although they were 15 minutes late opening shop, the massage was great!! My husband and I were well serviced by Anna and Lucy. I can't exactly speak for my husband but it was his first professional massage and he was impressed. As for myself, I would compare it to experiencing a great lover for the first time. My friend and I had an appointment for spa mani's and pedi's. I asked for a powder manicure and was told to come in. Upon arriving I had to wait an additional 15 minutes and my friend waited 30 min. There were only two women (mother and daughter) working with 4 customers. Daughter did my spa pedicure and did exceptionally well. Loved it! As for my manicure it turned out okay but it wasn't what I wanted. They don't do powder manicures I was told. To make matters worse she cut me she was rushing and it hurt. I settled for an acrylic layer over my nails then polish. The polish turned out great. But it was difficult communicating with her. If it wasn't for her daughter I would have walked out. $65 is what I paid. This is why I am giving it two stars. read more

Luckily I got there in time and the place had a peaceful ambiance to it. The massage was really relaxing and soothing. I'm glad I trusted my instincts about Dahan Massage Spa. I read through reviews - saw some negative ones - and decided just to come in and see for myself. I was looking for a good acupressure massage to help relieve tension I've had build up in my shoulders. I started with a 60 minute body massage and ended up asking for an additional 30 minutes. I haven't been to many Chinese reflexology/acupressure massage places, but out of the ones I have been to and received massages at, this is my first positive experience with the therapist listening to and understanding what I asked for. I asked for more emphasis on the shoulders, the head, and neck and she gladly did as I asked. She also was able to keep the strong pressure throughout the 90 minutes. Keep in mind that there is a language barrier. The ladies who work there speak little English, but just enough to know what it is you are looking for in a massage. The room I was in was clean, as was the massage table. If you're curious about this place, just come in and experience it for yourself. Come in, rather than trying to call to explain what you need. After reading the Yelp reviews, I decided to try Dahan Massage Spa rather than a more traditional spa. The massage was wonderful, as was the cost, friendliness and cleanliness. I have terrible knots in my shoulders and back, and I have arthritis in several joints, so I get massages fairly often. I should also mention I was able to schedule an appointment for a 90 minute massage later the same day (wow!). I was immediately welcomed when I walked in the door, and taken to the massage room right away. The room had low lighting, music and a comfortable table. The room was spotless, as was the whole place. The woman giving the massage used traditional massage mixed with some stretching and patting that were new to me and fantastic. She focused extra attention on all the problem areas I pointed out to her. Part of the time she was up on the table in order to apply the right pressure to my problem areas. As a result, I felt the knots melt away and I felt totally relaxed. Then I was totally overwhelmed: my 90 minute deep tissue massage cost only $60! A tremendous bargain! Normally I expect to pay at least $1 per minute. I'll be using Dahan as my go-to place for massage when I'm in town. read more

Day Spas are lovely but Thousand Oaks has a real gem in this small, quiet and peaceful sanctuary. The secret will soon get out that their Full Body Massage IS the best kept (SSHHHHH!) Utilizing Chinese technique and true pressure point and some acupressure, these very gracious and serene therapists are the best. This isn't your ordinary Foot Massage parlors you see popping up all over the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles and all over the country. This is a true find. The full body is exactly what you would find in any Beverly Hills Day Spa (burk williams, step aside) but honestly for $40, I'm surprised they aren't completely booked all the time. Hurry folks, the secret won't be long in getting out. If you think you've earned your time on the table, then book the full body. It's the best value in town. I became a regular customer after the first visit! This facility is IMMACULATELY CLEAN. It is smaller than some of the other foot massage businesses in the area, which I prefer.. because I don't particularly relax when another massage client is 2 feet away from me. The rates here are very reasonable...$20 for a "foot massage"., and only $40 for a full body massage!! The body massages are done in private,comfortable rooms. I got the $40 hour full body massage. Know that the owners do not speak English, like at all. They had a hard time trying to ask me how much I wanted to tip. The massage itself was relaxing, oriental music playing in the background had me feeling like Mulan. They sure know their pressure points. I asked for a "deep" massage and boy she applied quite a bit of pressure for a little lady. Knocking off a star because my neck and shoulders are still a tad stiff. I am a stressed person however, my job demands that I be perfection, and my own personal goals I set for myself also demand perfection. I am getting pretty close to being perfect. Prior to going here, i checked other reviews and was concerned since some people complained about the cleanliness. I found it to be a non issue and it wasn't dirty as some claimed it to be. They opened the middle door so that my wife and i could do the couples massage which was really nice. They really tailored to our needs. My wife got a nice soothing soft relaxing massage and i got the deep tissue almost cry out massage which i needed yo get the knots out. They were really great and the price was fair. I would definitely got back. The only thing i wish they had was a host in front who would answer the phone so that there wouldn't be any interruptions. read more

Good massage for the price. I called in last minute at around 9:05 and asked for a 1 hour massage. They accommodated us which was very nice. The massage started out really nice but the guy's hands who was working on my mom smelled like cigarettes. The entire massage was really good until the middle when a few patrons got up to pay. The cash register is in the middle of the spa area and you can hear all the transactions going on - very disturbing. Also, the masseuses were talking amongst themselves making it distracting.
