Extremely knowledgeable instructors keep everyone motivated to work out with fun music and frequent routine changes. Class pace is quick and energizing, with lots of cardio, unlike some barre classes I've tried where you just ambiguously tuck your pelvis for a while. The studio has a cozy feel and is also a really functional space that doesn't get overcrowded because advance booking is required. Classes are definitely challenging (esp barre power) but the instructors always give examples of how to modify so that people of all fitness levels can succeed. Two years later, and I still love Barre 44. The new studio space is super-airy and light, but still manages to feel cozy and inviting. With the recently-added trampoline cardio class, good luck getting rid of me!

The instructors Susan, Donna, Sarah, and now Liz are motivating, kind, and very tuned in to where you are at in your work out. There is a very warm accepting vibe, and the competition aspect is gone, so you can truly get the work out you need. I vote for Core Barre as the best place around not only for the expertise in fitness they have to offer, but the family friendly feel Susan and her instructors give to the place each and every time you go.

Imo they would really benefit from reducing the class sizes by 5-10%. I was also a little frustrated by the conflicting info on their website which said in two different places that all equipment was provided, and then separately that you were responsible for bringing your own mats and props. As it turns out, equipment IS provided, but that should really be updated for clarity's sake. All in all, a good and fun workout and I'll be back, but some frustrations with the studio as a whole.

The studio is so beautiful and bright, each staff member is incredibly friendly, and the place has such a great energy overall. I have tried other studios, but nothing even comes close to this. I drive an hour and a half round trip just to take classes here. The intensity of classes and supportive community is worth it. The barre classes can be intense, but the instructors always make a point to say listen to your body. If you need to stop, just take a break and go back into it when you can. The yoga classes have been great. I love Alyson's classes, especially the energy medicine class. Very restorative. I have my own mat, but tend to come straight after work and just use their mats. There is a changing room that can be used to change into workout clothes. The staff is engaging, the location is nice with lots of parking (same parking lot as Ken's, but in the back of the building to the right), the pricing for the class cards is reasonable, and the studio is clean and inviting. TK is extremely upbeat and innovative instructor and truly encourages everyone to just try their best and the results will happen and Taylor reminds me that I always have it in me to make it through until the end of the class. As a result she is now a respected trainer of other Pilates instructors, many of whom she employs at her center. I have come to know a couple of her instructors quite well and they are, without exception, wise and wonderful women! Katrina is warm, approachable and empowering in her approach to Pilates. I know several people who have done ongoing work with Katrina and have had excellent results with their physical issues. I also know a local chiropractor who regularly refers clients to Katrina because she is able to further the healing that he begins. I highly recommend Katrina and any of the instructors at the Pilates Studio that she employs.

It was my first time and as I walked into the workout room I saw people had weights in front of them, as a first timer | thought maybe there were more people than planned so I sat on the floor with nothing in front of me. As more people arrived, they walked in with weights. I soon realized I had to grab my own. There was no one greeting or instructing us with this. The workouts were fine and the instructor was average. There are much better locations for barre including Core Barre Studio in Newington which l attended for the first time just the day before this class. I wouldn't recommend this studio.

My fitness coach meets me where I am at every workout, and since I am a person with Parkinson's Disease, that can be a challenge. At Y.E.S., I always feel supported, but never coddled. I also appreciate the welcoming calm of the fitness studio; the idea of a big open gym with people coming and going always intimidated me. Finding Y.E.S. was the turning point in my battle to stave off the ravishes of PD. I feel truly empowered for the first time since my diagnosis, fifteen years ago.
