It is such a hard thing putting your child in daycare (especially when your child is an infant). I have to say that SHUMPS is a great place and I feel really good about the care my son receives here. There really aren't many options for daycare in Seminole Heights and I called SHUMPS when I was only 5 weeks pregnant to get on the list. I landed on the list 5 months later than I needed to be (due in September 2016 and was on the list for April 2017). That said, a spot ended up coming open much earlier. The price is pretty competitive, but most importantly, my son absolutely LOVES all the employees. They are so sweet to him and they give a personal touch. They do a lot of fun activities for the kids (even a Christmas pageant). I highly recommend SHUMPS to anyone looking for quality childcare in the Heights!

The teachers are loving and kind which puts parents at ease when dropping off their little ones. The curriculum taught at each age level is top notch and the kids learn on a consistent basis. The tuition is a bit pricey but I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for. I've used centers that were less expensive and the care of my children were lacking. The location is great as it sits away from the busy main roads, it's safely tucked away behind a neighborhood. Because we will definitely miss taking our son here…read more --- --- --- As of this writing, our son is about 2.5 years old and had been going to Kiddie Academy since he was about 5 months. The only reason I say all of this in the past tense is because we just moved out of state. If not for that, we definitely would have kept him here indefinitely. Back when my wife was pregnant and we were touring all of the daycares in the area, we truly could not believe how expensive they were. Literally, the cost of daycare was the same as a monthly payment for a luxury sports car. Heck, it was even on par with my first mortgage. How does anyone afford this?! But fortunately, while still cheap by no means, Kiddie Academy was definitely the most affordable option in the area. And as first time parents, we *immediately* learned that not only was tuition worth it, but we were probably under-paying. Being able to leave our son in the hands of these lovely people for up to 50 hours a week was invaluably helpful for two working parents. We knew he was in great hands and we knew he was having a lot more fun at school than he would have been at home with us. If you're in the Carrollwood/Northdale area, be sure to stop by for a tour here before you decide on visiting another school. We are excited for our new adventure but sad for our son to leave his first group of best friends. This is my last review of a Tampa Bay business. They had another problem, where they informed that their kid should not eat pizza and they offered and gave their kid pizza. More importantly, they refuse to accept what they have done.
