He is probably the best instructor in the Bay Area, and he will get you confidently driving in no time! I did 9 lessons with Alan over a period of 1 month, and he took me from being not very confident (after trying out three lessons a different instructor) to passing my test and driving well on the freeway! This was done with zero practice in between lessons. Alan is extremely professional, is always on time, and delivers same day feedback. He also tailors his teaching style to the student's learning style, and is keen on understanding his students' thought process if mistakes are made, so they can be properly fixed. For every single weakness I had in my driving, Alan had a strategy to fix it - this included fixing my turning speed, correctly using my mirrors, lane positioning and keeping the wheel straight. He is adept at observing to see exactly what the student is doing wrong and coming up with a formula to correct it. Additionally, he is extremely professional. He was always punctual and polite, never raised his voice and never did anything that diminished my confidence in any way as a student who was initially struggling. I have always had some anxiety about driving, but I actually looked forward to my lessons because I started to enjoy driving as I could feel myself improving. On the day of the lesson, he made sure that I was confident and encouraged me not to feel anxious, and I was happy to pass on my first try. Scheduling is also easy on the website, and the response rate is fast. If you need to learn how to drive, you can't go wrong with Alan at Perfect Score!

I usually don't trust any business with only 5 star reviews, but I can say with confidence that he deserves it! I have always been a very anxious driver, but thanks to him, I'm comfortable driving now and today I passed my behind-the-wheel test on my first try! I can't recommend him enough.

I was hesitant to write this review on Google, fearing potential retaliation from Mr. Hui, who has…read moremy personal information. However, Yelp allows anonymous reviews, so here you go. I hope this helps someone else. Mr. Hui, if you're reading this, please reconsider how you handle first-time students during lessons. At one point, you buried your face in your hands, sighed loudly, and became visibly frustrated when I tried to explain that I was struggling to understand your English. This wasn't a personal attack--it was my reality because, on the road, with information overload, I really can't comprehend and react to your instruction. That is really dangerous. Mr. Hui, I can see how you can be great, because you did push me to literally drive through Palo Alto's busy area on a Saturday afternoon, 40 miles an hour (35 miles an hour speed limit though!) when I can barely tell break from gas. To me, it felt like achieving mission impossible! But I'm not looking to accomplish mission impossible or rush to get my driver's license. I want to learn in a constructive, supportive environment. I even made a point to explain to you I'm not looking to save money and can take as many lessons as needed. When I explained that I had real trouble understanding you because you say "line" and "nine" exactly the same, I didn't expect you to change, but I just hoped for some kindness and patience if I don't immediately perform OK. Instead, your reactions--"Ai-ya! You say nervous nervous nervous as an excuse to not listen to the instructor," or "You are scary, you are scary, you are scary, and you don't do xyz" (he meant "scared," and yes, this sentence doesn't even make sense), or "You are lawyer or accountant, you think you know everything" (when answering his question about yellow line)--were discouraging, unhelpful, unkind. Today, I felt like a real danger to anyone on the road in Menlo Park as someone who had held a steering wheel for the first time in her life for just 20 minutes. I strongly believe that learner cars should be clearly marked, but unfortunately, Mr. Hui's car was not, which only added to my anxiety. I've decided to continue my lessons with a larger, more professional driving school that uses marked learner cars. When I politely informed Mr. Hui of my decision and requested a certificate for JUST TWO HOURS of training I had completed, he texted, "No certificate to you!!" In conclusion, while Mr. Hui is not at all "a horrible person", his unprofessionalism as an instructor stems from his inability to understand and accommodate the need of students, particularly in terms of communication in English and managing nervous beginners.

Terrible driving lesson school! First, when my wife asked the fee of a 2-hr session, he informed by…read moretext that it was $180 for 2-hr session. A few days later, she confirmed that she wanted to schedule a session, Mr.Hui informed that the price was $200 for 2-hr session. Secondly, he taught student without patience; he yelled sometimes and scolded disrespectfully. One time he spontaneously nudged/poked her elbow when he wanted to direct/instruct. The atmosphere of teaching was not conducive because it stressed out student. He didn't speak English clearly. It was hard to understand his instruction. Thirdly, when the session was almost done, it was not even 2 hour completely yet, but he rushed to finish the session while there was still 4-5 minutes left. Instead of making a recap or sort of, he seemed so hurried and immediately asked my wife when she would book a second lesson. On the side note, looking at his phone number, this driving lesson (OnePass Driving) seems to be the same as the other one (Zero Error Driving).

What truly set them apart was their unwavering professionalism and punctuality. Every lesson started on time and best part is they don't ask for upfront payment of classes unlike most driving schools. You pay as you go. They also went ABOVE AND BEYOND by scheduling the driving test for my child even when there were no available appointments on DMV website for the entire month. My child would have to otherwise repeat since their learners permit was expiring. This demonstrated their commitment to student success. A special shoutout to Instructor Allen Hsu!! He was truly the best, patient, kind and clear communicator. My child was completely at ease and gained confidence with every lesson. Overall, I can't recommend Cupertino Driving School enough. If you are looking for a driving school that is professional, reliable and provides top tier instruction, especially with amazing instructors like Allen, look no further!
