We recently moved to the east valley and needed a new OB as I have a high risk pregnancy due to my previous medical history. I explained to them on the phone if this was someone their office could handle and I needed to see an OB not a nurse or a midwife due to the complications of my pregnancy. I was scheduled for an ultrasound and "doctor's " visit. The front desk seemed more concerned about their nails and hair than doing their job. I had to redo the same paperwork 3 times because the girl upfront kept deleting it. The ultrasound tech was rude and just seemed annoyed we were there. She has zero personality. While the medical assistant was extremely nice; she did not seem to know what was going on; her nails were longer than her fingers which don't seem professional in a medical setting or even sanitary & she was chewing gum with her mouth open as she spoke to us twirling her hair and ignoring most of what I was saying. I was seen not by a doctor but a nurse; she 100% ignored my questions and concerns. I was then told thy were not going to do anything but have me come back because " we don't even know if you have a viable pregnancy " I was 6 days earlier than we thought and instead of being professional she was rude and heartless. This causes so much unnecessary stress. We got TWO second options that same week and they BOTH agreed the due date would be moved and baby was healthy and growing and there was NO reason to say what she said especially since I am still nursing and there is zero way to know the exact date of conception. When I told her what she said " no you HAVE to be this far along and you're just not matching that " It causes so much unnecessary stress but the way the entire appointment was handled was unprofessional and has zero human compassion. So I did my usual and went to Dr Evan. He asked me to do a liver, gallbladder cleanse said it would also get rid of my gallstones which I did not know I even had, and to give up coffee (that was the stinger). I did the cleanse and gave up coffee for a week nothing happened. So I gave up, the rash got worse. I had to do something Dr Evan said do liver cleanses till all the gallstone were gone. I just did my 6th liver, gallbladder cleanse, I found a great decaffeinated coffee tastes like regular coffee (Solar Roast Coffee). I only had a few gallstones this time. So I'm good for another year, I was doing them monthly so many stones came out on the previous flushes, so many I got worried and googled how many stones a person can have? Google said thousands, I had probably had thousands. The rash is almost all gone AND I had a little psoriasis too (for about 35 years and that is almost gone). Not once in the 3 months did they ever ask for a payment. So here i am freaking out the past 3 months if I'm going to end up with this insane balance when there was clear coding submission issues. Another thing that was super nerve racking was when I was still going in for prenatal visits dr.Stacy Minter always gave me SO much anxiety it was insane. I thought i was gonna go into labor after she did a cervical check. Def not gentle. But i stayed pregnant for another 4+ weeks. The care I received here almost felt abusive. I would never recommend my worst enemy here. Go to mom doc right across the street, they're ghetto but at least have your appointment when you show up and can be sure if there is a concern with your pregnancy it's listened to. I ended up in preterm labor (due to complications and things that could've and should've been caught): I requested a growth scan at 28 weeks and was talked to/looked at like I was crazy, I requested to be referred to a specialist, I brought up unwell I was feeling, I brought up how much weight I was gaining a week, I brought up the onset extreme swelling/fainting/high blood pressure- EVERYTHING! And was simply dismissed every time.. "oh that pregnancy for you" Due to the lack of care I received my daughter was born 6 weeks early at 2lbs 13oz and had a nicu stay for 27 because of the neglect I received here. According to amazing doctors at ABRAZO WEST and VALLEY PERINATAL everything could've been caught way sooner and I would've had more then 45 minutes to plan. Thanks to god, all the horrible treatment i received and poor bedside manner was made up in the 9 days I spent hospitalized prior to having my daughter, and in our month long nicu stay. HOWEVER upon arriving it was obvious the check in lady was new (which is fine as long as there's obvious effort in improving or learning the ropes.) She was extremely slow to check me in, did not make eye contact, was so quiet I could barely hear her (god forbid you're hard of hearing). Did not even check my demographics, which were all wrong and misspelled. I arrived 30 min early to my appointment and ended up not even filling out paperwork or medical release forms which is important when I'm trying to establish a pediatrician for my kids to have continuity of care. The NP was fine. She reassured me my kiddo was okay and let me know what to watch out for. However she finished up and left the room without even checking my baby's belly (she was in for vomiting). She did came back inside to do the physical portion of the exam thank goodness. Overall the visit cost me $230+ for what I felt was subpar medical care. I would not recommend using banner as PCP especially for CHILDREN. They are the most vulnerable of our population and deserve pediatric care that is excellent or at least decent. I will not be coming back and hope they improve their standard of care. In the case of an emergency or a serious illness it does not sit well that the staff cannot even get something as simple as names and date of births correct. I'm sure the doctors are great but if your front desk/ first people you see are incompetent it ruins the overall quality of your practice.
