It was nice to have the extra privacy but the room itself was dated. The property next door is was doing construction so we could hear it from the carriage house. If I stayed here again I would stay in the main house. Breakfasts were really delicious and the owners made different things each day. I really liked the homemade biscuits and German apple pancake the best. We also had yummy cookies and cake available when we wanted a snack. I liked the location on the river but for some people it maybe remote. Bonus I saw deer wandering the property.

There are water stains all over the ceilings. The walls are cracked due to foundation issues. Our room had cobwebs. The beds are so uncomfortable you can feel each spring. The worst part for me was the black mold all over the bathroom walls. I even found a live roach which I was accused of bring because they said "we don't have roaches". Interesting since the entire inn was full. Then i was told it was a grasshopper. I attached a photo, don't worry. So you can decide. Lastly, we can't eat in the room. So we went downstairs to eat in the dining room. Tessa said no you can't eat here. Go outside. So we ate outside like dogs. Don't stay here

We booked the Little Room which is actually next to the main house. They told us up front that cell phone reception was spotty, and they were right, but they do offer wi-fi. Our room felt a little musty at first but we turned on the AC until nighttime when the air was quite cool and comfortable. We enjoyed our relaxing stay and sat on our porch during some summer storms. In the evening, we had some complimentary tea and brownies and rocked in the chairs outside the main house. One evening we even heard bagpipes playing (must have been practicing for the Highland Games). Breakfast was delicious both days. There are no TVs in the rooms, which was fine with us. Even though the inn is on a remote country road, we were still surprised to hear cars and trucks go by throughout the night.

With that, my stay at The Perry House Bed and Breakfast shoots to the top of my list of memories! Make some tea--this will be long! I've never stayed at a BnB before. My daughter and I do an annual daddy/daughter trip and we tried this area before in a cabin rental. Fun, for sure but the Perry House took things to a different level. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by Robin and Mike and they're just so darn nice, I want them to be my North Carolina parents! Robin gave us the lay of the land and our rooms and it was time to settle in for 4 nights. The rooms are cozy and comfy with each having their own bathroom. The house itself is gorgeous, especially at Christmastime. There's a TV in the living room, kitchen in the back, and snacks around. You can explore the highlands, or just sit in your PJs watching TV or reading. Breakfast was served daily and did not disappoint! Sitting around family style with others was fantastic. Which, that is another fun aspect of a real BnB--we met 3 or 4 different couples and they were all the warmest people. Sharing stories, sharing our lives, sharing things to do--this is the real deal. I mentioned to my mom that this, at least the entrance, reminded me of Newhart, if you're old enough to remember. Our capstone was celebrating New Years 2023 with Robin, Mike, and the guests! It'll definitely be one for the memory book! The Perry House is mountain hospitality, Americana, beauty, and history all rolled into one. If you're visiting Banner Elk, you owe it to yourself to stay at least a night and make memories!

My best friend, her husband, and I stayed in two of their beautiful, cozy rooms in the days leading up to Christmas. The inn grounds were lit up with sparkling lights as I approached the inn, and I was blown away by the incredible Christmas decor throughout the entire establishment. Debra and Ken were incredible hosts who paid attention to all of the details, ensuring we had the most comfortable stay. We had so much fun exploring all that the outdoors have to offer, and I was dazzled by the surrounding Christmas tree farm. Meadowsweet Gardens Inn is a true treasure, and I look forward to meeting friends for more adventures there soon!

They could possibly be the coolest people I've chatted with in a while. Loaded with great stories, and knowledge about the area. If the Inn is anywhere near as great as the owners and their personality, i would highly recommend staying there. This quaint B&B…read moreis only a short drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway (maybe 5-8 minutes driving) and about 15-20 minutes drive to the Stone Mountain park. It is out of the way down a long driveway, and most likely you'll be greeted by their super friendly dog, Hunter. Jim and Margaret are great hosts, providing freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and lemonade upon arrival. The check-in process is short and sweet and they are available when you need them, but the place is big enough to give enough privacy despite the community spaces. I surprised my bf for his birthday and we came up just for one night. We stayed in the Yosemite room and it was perfect. The king bed was super comfortable, and the room had a ceiling fan, flat screen tv, electric fireplace (for ambiance and/or for heat), and the bathroom had a shower and a jacuzzi tub. It was right around the corner from the kitchen, so in terms of noise, you do hear the clinging and clanging of cooking and cabinets/drawers closing, but it wasn't a major issue for us. If you're sensitive to noise, then I would suggest getting a room on the second floor instead. Our room leads off to an external entrance to the back balcony/porch area so we could come and go from the back door instead of going through the house/common area which was nice. There is always access to coffee (fresh brewed in the morning or a Keurig for afternoon) and hot water for tea or hot chocolate. Upstairs, there is a small fridge that has complimentary can sodas and bottles of water for guests to have. I put our bottle of champagne there to chill. The highlight of the stay of course was the breakfast promptly served at 8:30a. We woke up to a beautiful spread and shared a nice breakfast with nice conversation with 12 other guests. It was family style, so we passed the food around and around until we were all miserably/happily stuffed. Margaret's famous cinnabuns were really delicious - super sweet and fresh. Overall - Everything was clean and just really done well with nice subtle touches throughout the B&B (ie. light music in the background of the common areas, fresh cut flowers in the bathroom and bedside, foaming bubble bath by the tub with a pillow, several candles in the room to assist with creating a romantic ambiance, super plush robes and Bath & Body Works shower products (soaps, shampoo, etc) to use... We definitely hope to come back and enjoy/relax again in the near future :)

This cozy little cabin has a loft bedroom with one bed and a half bath. Downstairs is a living room that is equipped with a pull out sofa bed, perfect of an eight-year-old. The grey stone fireplace and chimney occupy the center of the structure and are beautiful. The full kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, coffee-maker, cups, coffee, tea and there was a plate of fresh-baked cookies waiting for us on the table when we arrived. Just off the kitchen is a full bathroom with a fantastic Jacuzzi tub. But the piece de resistance: the most perfect "settin' porch" overlooking the creek behind. No kidding, the perfect spot for your morning coffee! In the mornings, we walked up the hill to the main house log home with another amazing porch. The innkeepers make a homemade sumptuous breakfast every morning. On the first morning, there was fresh fruit, bacon, eggs, biscuits, cinnamon rolls, baked grits. On the second morning, we had shirred eggs with ham, waffles, Moravian sugar bread, fruit salad. We enjoyed the breakfast at a common table with other guests, sharing our stories of our journeys and adventures. Delish!!
