If you're looking for a new doctor/clinic/medical state because you have chronic or terminal…read moreillness: RUN! This place will not help. I've been a UNM medical patient for 7 years. I moved from Presbyterian at the insistence of my care coordinator. Promised me that I'd get better, more comprehensive care, problems with prescriptions not being refilled on time would be resolved, and they would actually look for the cause of my health issues. It was all a lie. My primary is great. But, she has to report to a doctor that won't do her job. As far as getting to the root of my medical. That was a lie. Tooth and nail, every step of the way. When I was diagnosed with a terminal disease, pulmonary fibrosis, because my underlying issues went untreated, the pulmonary clinic didn't want to chart it. They still haven't charted my bronchiectasis that I was diagnosed with in 2024. The care would be sub par, if you're in Haiti. Trying to refill a prescription of schedule appointments are a joke. Getting your refills actually submitted? Good luck. It doesn't matter if you're dying because they refused to treat your lungs, saying "it's just a cough" until it's pulmonary fibrosis, cancelling long term medications without so much as a notification, saying they're prescribing you medications, like antibiotics, to stop horrible exacerbations that shorten your life, quality of life, and make it feel like you're dry drowning all day, and not. I called today, and John-Paul answered. They were rude, condescending, insulting. Used my name as a derogatory word, told me "I don't like your tone" when I said I'm having issues trying to refill prescriptions and the prescription line has already been worthless. According to UNM policy, if you bring a complaint to ANY STAFF, that staff is supposed to initiate a grievance. They refused. When I've tried to file with the grievance coordinator, she said only grievances at SHE APPROVES get filed or investigated. When I asked John-Paul, for the second time, to stop using my name as a pejorative, he "Hung up" on me... my call didn't actually disconnect, just went back into the queue, silenced. So, if you're sick, have medication issues, and try to resolve them, be sure your problems will fall on closed ears, and you'll be mocked and talked about when you hang up/leave. And, yes. I've heard the nursing staff mocking patients as/after they left. Saying they're refilling medications that you've been on for years, medications to manage pain that cause horrible, potentially lethal withdrawal syndromes, but not actually refilling them... better be quieter than a mumble rapper bringing up your complaints. you're better off getting medical care from RFK after he hits you with a van. My medical problems are caused by sarcoidosis. A historical read of chart, X-rays, and bloodwork clearly confirm this. But they won't actually even look at that. I went from sick to dying because of their "care."

She's been trying to get into both a nephrologist and orthopaedic surgeon (which is taking forever) and has been told multiple times to go back to UNM if she gets worse only to be told she's "drug seeking". She's currently got a broken back, bulging discs and a concussion because she keeps falling as she's loosing motor function in her legs but, no, she's drug seeking!
