First time flying into Durango…read more Leaving the airport and getting out to the main road you come upon Upper East Side Liquors. My husband is always on the search for a new or unique bourbon. So what else do you do when you get into a new city? I don't know what you do, but we hit up the liquor store. Upper East Side did not disappoint. My husband found his holy grail bourbon, which is not found where we live in SC. But wait, one bottle per customer. So guess what, we frequented Upper East Side a few times before we left Durango. We had to reorganize our luggage. But we left happy. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. We loved Durango. By the way there are many liquor stores in the area. We stopped at a few others but UESL had the best prices. See ya in the spring!!!

This place has a pretty small selection of local beer but it was a nice selection. They had assorted singles from Ska Brewing along with a variety pack and also a variety pack from Breckenridge Brewing. They offered a couple different sixers from Odell Brewing. The 22 oz bottle selections wasn't terribly great but they had 3 from Ska and a few more that I don't remember. The worker was incredibly helpful and the sign out front was the coolest sign I've seen in a long time. Sort of like a sign you'd picture on route 66 but totally restored. Overall it wasn't the greatest selection but they stocked my car nicely and the worker was cool. Overall it really is more of a wine place than a beer place but I'd stop by on my way to Mesa Verde again.
