We love the daily report card, the ability to watch a live video feed of our daughter's classroom, and the safe and secure location. When accidents have occurred (which happen to all babies as they learn and grow), they have been addressed promptly and my wife and I are notified the next time we pick-up our daughter. Miss Madison, Miss Grace, and many of the other staff members have been fabulous to trust our daughter with each day. We have loved watching her grow over the past year and look forward to the months and years to come. You get what you pay for in a daycare, and LSP is truly worth every penny. When asked AAC, here's their response, which I think will help you understand what they're all about: Oh our owner is very passionate about different eating preferences, in fact, she is meeting with the chef and they are revamping the menu. They like to make different meals look the same so the kids don't feel odd eating something different (e.g. Vegetarian vs. Meat). At that moment I fell in love. Another one of the most memorable perks was the fact that they have their own "cafeteria/gym" area which is where the kitchen is, but they also hold Daddy Daughter dance type of events, and they also hold activities during the day for your kiddo to attend (like soccer or piano) which helps alleviate as many evening activities if so desired! Lastly and most importantly, their curriculum strategy and execution for Reggio is on point. I visited some places that execute it at bare minimum just to claim it, not this place. We've become so attached to each of the teachers that we have worried if the next teacher will be just as good as the previous. We really like the extra lengths AAC goes to make the experience feel like a family. They have a dad/daughter dance as well as a mom/son movie night each year. My first child started attending when the school opened, and both of our children are currently at the smaller building. My two year old has been at Children's Lighthouse since they opened and he attended a well-known, well-respected daycare before that we weren't happy with. I was honestly bothered leaving my son at his first daycare, so he began at Children's Lighthouse as soon as they opened when he was 10 months old. I've been very pleased with all of the teachers he has had, and I think the world of his teachers in the two year old room. My son is very particular and he sometimes has a difficult time socializing, but his teachers are incredibly patient and nurturing. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Ms. Amber and Ms. Andrea, and I've seen so many improvements with my son. He is learning so much! My two year old can count to fifteen-- and mumbles to 20 :) and he's known all of his colors for at least six months now and his favorite shape is an oval-- or diamond-- it depends on the day. He even told me what a hexagon is... My two year old knows what a hexagon is! Most importantly, though, his teachers really care about him. They make sure he feels secure and loved, and I can't put a price on that. My 9 month old son has been at Children's Lighthouse since he was 2.5 months old. His teachers, Ms. Devin and Ms. Gabby, are amazing. My little boy is so loved. When I take him to his classroom, he gets the biggest grin on his face when he sees Ms. Devin. That in itself says so much about the care he receives. The communication his teachers provide is exceptional, and I'm just beside myself with the artwork they send home with us. Plus, my son has been able to sign milk since he was 8 months old! I've been delighted with both infant rooms since he started. And lastly, I am so impressed with the management. Ms. Christina and Ms. Sarah both have a special place in our hearts. When I was due with my second child, we didn't have family in state to help us with our first son during delivery, but Ms. Christina worked with us and was so flexible and understanding of our situation. There's not a day that goes by that I don't look forward to seeing Ms. Christina and Ms. Sarah and chatting with them. They are like family to us. They're witnesses to both my children growing up, and they know us as a family. I can't describe that level of comfort but it means the world.

When I came to pick her up I heard her laughs the moment I opened the door. The staff said she had been having so much fun that she and agreed for me to sneak out and let her play some more. When she did come home she was exhausted, excited, and full of stories to tell. She was up, dressed, breakfast ate, and lunch packed (optional) an hour before we were supposed to leave, and this girl is so very not a morning person! Their prices are awesome, currently $8 per hour or $56 for 7-10 hours, and $4 for lunch if you choose to eat there. It's a drop in facility with extended evenings for those afternoon workers, and you only pay for the hours you are there. I highly recommend checking them out. Your kiddo won't be disappointed.

It is more expensive then a traditional preschool program Where Your Children will play with toys all day long though... My daughter received a solid education and she's not a genius by any stretch but by three years old she was bringing home world maps that she had drawn. I kept her at the school through her kindergarten year because she was already reading books and I think that's simply because of the Montessori method of educating children and engaging their minds. I didn't want her sitting at a public school and waiting for other children to identify basic letters and sounds when she was already reading and doing math. In my opinion there is nothing that substitutes for Montessori education now that I've seen it in action. My favorite part about this school though is the history that it has within the Johnson County area. This school originated over 40 years ago! A number of the teachers and parents who bring their children there were once original students at the school. I think it's a well-kept secret and it has not lost any of its charm or dedication and I'm honored that this is where my daughter began her education.
