Recently had a horrible experience with DCCU. I was recently in a head on collision with both my kids in a car that was financed through the credit union. With the car being a total loss, we asked if we could finance our next car through them. We were delighted to hear that our gap coverage with our first loan offered us $1000 towards our next loan. We immediately asked Mary, who works in collections, if it was possible to have them finance a car out of state since we had moved to IL from the Denver area. She said that was no problem and that she would get us hooked up with lending to go over the details. Brenda and Vanessa in lending both worked with us to secure a rate and amount that was what we were looking for. We asked them both up front again, if it was ok that we were out of state and they both assured us that it was fine. After a week of car shopping, and several calls with Vanessa and Brenda going over the details of the loan we landed on a car and secured the pre-approval to purchase the car from the dealership. 18 hours before we were to finalize the paperwork at the dealership, we received a call from Brenda stating that they couldn't offer us a loan because the car was being purchased outside of Colorado. Since we we're in a situation of a total loss and driving a rental car that in 3 days was no longer going to be covered by insurance, we had no more time to shop either new cars or new loans. We we're forced to enter into financing with the dealership on the car we found which was 1.8% more than the rate that we were quoted from DCCU. We felt through gross incompetency on their part we were cornered into paying $1500 more for a loan than we wanted. The worst part is that they did not apologize or offer anything in return for a serious mistake which cost a member money. read more

I switched to DCCU about a year ago and haven't looked back since. The customer service is quick and courteous. I have yet had an issue that wasn't resolved above my satisfaction. Each time I have scheduled a meeting with a personal banker, I was helped nearly immediately. There was one time I was waiting for a few minutes while the banker finished up a call. The services provided are excellent. I love how easy the website and phone app are to work. Check depositing is super easy, and everything is at my fingertips. I also like the accountability the CardNav app provides. I love getting text alerts on purchases placed via my wife and I cards. I can immediately disable the card if it gets jacked (which only happened when someone stole my wife's purse). The Mile High APY program is a fantastic way to earn better interest rates with everyday purchases. Without going through all of the services and bragging about them, all I have to say is that DCCU is a much better choice than the big banks. read more

I bought a new vehicle last October and this is the Credit Union that came with the loan. It took three trips to the CU and two phone calls with customer service to get automatic transfers set up--partly because their computer systems were down the first time I went in. What I find most annoying is that an employee has called me twice about "not receiving" a loan payment on a montly automatic transfer. But the guy calls the day the transfer is scheduled. It is automatic. It has been set up for 10 months. No payments have ever lapsed. Why are you calling about automatic transfers/payments before they post making it sound like I'm I missed a payment? Sorry, but I bank with Westerra Credit Union and EVERYTHING about them is better. Update: Less than 24 hours after my meh review Denver CCU figured out a snafu on their end, corrected it, and called me personally to smooth things over. They do seem to be generally concerned with customer service and I appreciate it. read more

Just a short note to express my appreciation for Heath and the professionalism he demonstrated in helping me to resolve a problem with my credit union account. I admit that I was very upset and was probably talking in a not so pleasant voice. Heath listened to my issue and began to unravel what had happened. He explained to me what he needed to do and gave me assurances that he would follow up on this. On the following day I called Heath and he again checked in on the situation. He asked me if he could put me on hold while he did some checking. I was on hold for a few minutes and hung up. He called me back and told me check my account to insure that the issue was resolved. Denver Community Credit Union is the best Bank I have ever had the privilege's of banking with. I trust them explicitly, and the bank has always been patient with me as I am old school. I have had a number of problems with my Credit Cards (fraud, theft, etc.) Denver Community Credit Union has been patient with my account mishaps, and my constant moving from one state to another. They have endured 16 different states, and changes of addresses, as I keep moving trying to find a state I can call home. I have warned them that I will never leave them. They have helped to keep on the straight and narrow, protective wise. What more could anyone ask for in a banking establishment. They easily rate a five star from me. Denver Community Credit Union has been absolutely terrific over the many years we've been with them. They have the best customer service of any bank we've ever been with (and we're not young, so that's a lot of years of experience with financial institutions!). They are always patient and helpful, and will take the time to get the needed information if they don't have it at hand (tho they usually do). Just today, Adam took the time to not only answer my questions about an upcoming real estate transaction, but offered some suggestions and confirmed some others with one of the real estate specialists there. I was having a few problems trying to log into my account that I recently signed up for online. The agent that answered the phone when I called was Brenda D... I would like to applaud her on her patience and the amount of time it took her to walk me step by step through the login process. At one point in time we were even disconnected from the phone call, and I thought that all was lost.... But, lo and behold, Brenda called me right back!!! That gave me a new feeling of reassurance, and at the same time showed me that the staff that works for this credit union really care about their customers. I opened my bank account with Denver Community Credit Union in January of 2016. I moved here in November 2015, and the bank I had previously was not available here, so I thought WHY NOT go to a local credit union instead. My experience here has been nothing short of amazing every time. From the drive thru, to the tellers, it is a great credit union for your finances. I called in a few days ago, and spoke to a very kind gentleman named Eddie, and he was so pleasant! His service was top notch, and very efficient. There needs to be more people like Eddie working in Customer Service these days! I recommend DCCU to anyone that lives in the area looking for a different type of banking experience! She was polite, professional and thorough. Even when she had to place me on a brief hold to find out some additional information, she checked in on me and made sure I knew she was still working on getting me an answer to my question. Joined this bank after moving out to Denver from NYC. Finishing a divorce with less than perfect credit. 2 bank's turned me down. I could have been the President 4 years ago, all they cared about was my credit the last three years. NOT DCCU. They worked with me, never embarrassed me, suggested a strategy moving forward. STAFF? Courteous, well trained, best in class. Same street but different building multiple drive up windows. Fantastic phone decor. Great hours too! Now my divorce is settling. I Sold my financial services/ insurance agency. Bet those two bank's would take me now! Never. My loyalties are with DCCU. A ground up, old. I went to the Denver Community Credit Union on June 27, 2018 for a loan to purchase a warranty for my car. Tamika reviewed the purchase price on the warranty that I had in mind to purchase and stated she could provide us a warranty that would save us over $300.00 dollars. I wasn't even aware that the credit union provided warranties but Tamika walked us through the details and signed us up for a warranty with a more affordable price. Furthermore, Tamika was able to provide a much better interest rate on one of our credit cards, thus saving us even more money. I was truly impressed with the way in which our financial interests were being looked after. I was impressed with their customer service. read more

I was very pleased with Lou's service when I called the credit union May 1st, 2023. She was professional and knowledge about credit union procedures and patient with me in answering my questions. I had a concern to address with a merchant renewing a subscription for book writing class on my account without my prior permission. I was able to troubleshoot with Lou about the issue and felt more secure and less anxious after speaking with her. I closed our conversation feeling content and grateful. I have been banking with Denver Community Credit Union for about a year now and I only have great things to say about this credit union! The staff are always very kind and welcoming whenever I enter the branch, and I have never received any fees or penalties since I have opened my account! My favorite account at Denver Community is the Mile High APY account. With this account it rounds the change up from my debit card purchases and puts it in a different savings account at a 5.28% interest rate!! By FAR the WORST bank/credit union I've ever dealt with. They continued to tack on insurance every month for nearly 2 years. Added to the principle balance which then collected interest. Merely from vehicle I financed with them. They REFUSED to accept my insurance from Progressive, which I carried the entire time starting from day 1 of the purchase of the vehicle. Their staff was completely oblivious the multiple times I called in trying to get this resolved and weren't helpful AT ALL! Save yourself the trouble and choose a different bank. read more

Takeidra was our customer service representative at Zing. She was so patient and was extremely knowledgeable helping us to create our accounts and answering insurance coverage information. She also said "you're welcome" as opposed to no problem. Which tells me she is aware of being hospitable! Thank you for all of your assistance. I have a shared branch based out of New York. I live 3 blocks from this location. I called in recently, and Eddie answered the phone with a very nice tone. He helped me with some questions I had about shared branching.. I will definitely be coming here for anything I have to do with my account now. I love the fact that Credit Union's have the option to go to other branches.. It makes it easy if you travel often, or move, you don't have to cancel your account and open a new one elsewhere, it saves the hassle. read more

A loan officer wasn't available f us to speak wit, but he stepped up an took initiative and stared the process for us and told us someone would contact us tomorrow.
