Helpful staff, computers available for rental agreements, and good equipment. It looks like they make an effort to maintain the equipment. We rented gear for the narrows, and it made such a huge difference. The neoprene booties smell bad, but that is to be expected. Our recent adventure to SW Utah found my son and me at Zion National Park. We didn't know what we wanted to do, nor what there really was to do. Many people told us to check out Zion National Park. Just got back this past weekend from Zion. We used this company to shuttle us to Chamberlain Ranch. I was quite impressed by the service this company provided. Originally our reservation was for Saturday 6:30am but on Friday afternoon, there was a flash flood warning so we couldn't get our permits until the next morning. So we pushed our reservation for 9:30am. It was a pretty full shuttle and my friend and I were the only ones doing the Narrows Top-Down hike in one day (everyone else was camping). John (the driver) was aware of this and even called us on Saturday evening and left me a msg on my cell phone to make sure we got out ok. I was very impressed by the level of care/service that was provided. He was even going to drive up to the shuttle stop at the Temple of Sinawava to pick us up if we ended up missing the last Zion shuttle at 10pm. The next time I need a shuttle in Zion, I will definitely be using them again. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Zion Adventure Company. My husband and I went Technical Canyoneering with Bill in April 2014. To this day we talk about our experience and Bill. He was an amazing teacher, he helped me find my confidence, my bravery, and never once did I feel unsafe. My husband and I definitely plan on going back and requesting Bill as a guide. He is a wonderful man and my husband and I were shocked on how much we learned about the sport, our capabilites, and our boundries. We think of Bill as a friend. I rented dry pants, shoes, stocks and a walking stick from them to walk the Narrows. I had reserved the pants for Sunday morning but came to pick them up Saturday night before I was supposed to. They accommodated me. The pants were AWESOME - kept me dry, so glad I had them. Their staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. They strongly suggested the full drysuit; however, I found the pants to be more than sufficient (walking non-permitted portion of Narrows only). read more

We went on a full day family canyoneering adventure with Gerard. What a day!! The hike up was hard, actually the whole day was a challenge, but so much fun. Gerard literally talked me off the cliff. Great staff and great service! Everyone there was so friendly. I called to reserve a dry suit package for the Narrows driving into Zion but my cellphone service was weak so the transaction couldn't go through. Thankfully, I found out Robby (from ZAC) put in the reservation anyways and everything was ready to go the night before the Narrows! When we picked up our suits and paid for them, as we walked out an employee overheard us wondering why we were charged an extra $20 and she quickly fixed the problem and refunded the extra $20 that was supposed to be the reservation deposit. The rental gear was amazing: their boots were so sturdy and the suit kept me dry, even when I fell 3 times. read more

5 star for the rental service itself and 0 star for the parking experience. The equipments we rent are great and work fine for our backpacking trip in narrows. However, please be aware that the parking lot next to it is neither part of the store nor part of the Zion national park. It is some sort of "private property" and the Zion parking permit does not work here (it does work on the street parking though). No one will be at the gate to charge you but if you fail to see the not so obvious charging board, you are submitted to $100 fine and your car will be locked. I felt a bit disappointed because no one at the company ever tried to warn us about the parking issue. Maybe we were not cautious enough to see the board, and hopefully we are the only customer having this issue. But if we were not, and since I guess most of the people parking in the parking lot are to use service from this company, I hope they will provide a better and more complete service to ask if their customers are parking next door and don't know they have to pay. read more

We've rented gear for this place twice now, once for a Zion top-down overnight trip and again for a bottom-up day hike just recently. Both times the staff has been exceedingly helpful and knowledgeable. Also, their gear packages are well priced. ($23/person for boots, walking stick, and neoprene socks). Two of us decided on doing the guided Narrows trip on a Sunday on our trip to Zion in October. Our guide (Patrick - the best) was SUPER helpful and very friendly. We were provided all our equipment for the cold weather trip, plus fun information about the park and route along the way from our guide. While the hike in the Narrows didn't necessarily require a guide (which they are very upfront with you about since the guides cannot take you past 2.5 miles into the 18 mile Narrows path), Patrick was great and I don't regret it. He knew where the water was shallow (or deeper, if we wanted), he took pictures along the way (and shared, for free!), and they have great system in place for when to put on your gear, and just overall handled everything so that I didn't have to keep up with directions or bus routes - but was just along for the fun! If you're doing the Narrows, you have to go check these guys out! Excellent rental equipment. Rented the dry suit package and it kept us dry and comfortable for the whole 8 hours. Made the hike so much easier and gave us the capacity to pay attention to the awesome stuff that's happening around us by that much more. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff as well. I have wide feet and when i told them so, they recommended an older pair that was more broken into and would expand wider. LIttle stuff like that counts!! Would love to do top-down 2 day hike next time and i will be sure to go rent from them again. read more

We rented some water boots, socks and hiking sticks for the narrows from this place. They did the job just fine. Water still got Into our socks and shoes but I wouldn't have wanted to do this hike without this stuff. We also took a waterproof bag for our phones which we didn't end up needing. The rentals had to be returned by 7 pm otherwise we would have been charged another day. An after hours drop off would be nice. We had to rush a bit to finish our hike in order to have everything back in time. It cost about $55 for all our rental gear. Not bad. read more

Wish I would have known about these guys before my trip. Walked to the edge of the narrows and seen everyone wearing their gear. The next day walked into their shop and got educated on the narrows. rented the full suit, boots and stick. (I was there in December and I think it was 41 degrees air temp and 41 degrees water temp). The suit worked flawlessly and didn't get cold at all with just thermals, tee shirt and pants under the suit. Absolutely a awesome experience. Well worth the rental fee. Great service from Zion Adventure Company! We rented dry suits, boots and walking sticks so we could hike the Narrows this weekend and we were given great help and advice from the staff at Zion Adventure Co. They kitted us out fully with everything we needed for a great day, showed us an informational video about the hike and were generally just a great efficient team, both at the start and end of the day when we returned our gear. We stayed dry for the most part (expect wet but warm feet even with the neoprene socks/ shoes) and were warm even though we hiked in rainy/ snowy conditions. The gear was fantastic. Shoes comfortable and the walking sticks were a must. We had such a fantastic (impromptu) day hiking through the Narrows and that adventure wouldn't have even happened had we not stumbled into Zion Adventure Company in the morning. Thanks! read more

Easy to rent crampons, easy returns. Short on sizes but we came midday so that probably explains it. $7 for Yaktrax and $10 for Kahtoola Microspikes for the day is a steal if you ask me. Great experience with the Basic Full-Day Course & with renting gear to use the next day. Rob was our instructor for the course. He asked what our goals were for the course and tailored the day accordingly. Our goal was to become competent and skilled enough to explore canyons the following day by ourselves. Rob was fantastic - we'd book with him again. ZAC offered a deal if you rented from them for your next days adventures. The staff was very helpful in assisting us with the right sizes (wetsuits, etc) and making sure we had the appropriate rappelling gear. It was an all around top quality experience. read more

We were planning to have an activity packed vacation at Zion National Park and decided to try a full day canyoneering. Stumbled upon Zion Adventure Company and the rest is history. The website has a ton of information and videos. On the day of the canyoneering we were met with Scott and Diana. Both amazing guides. Scott has been working at Zion Adventure company for 8 years and had a ton of experience in canyoneering and Diana was a pro at canyoneering and was enjoying her first year at Zion. The package included the shoes and socks, which were amazing to hike in water and rocks. We went to the Battle creek canyon. Our group had very little to no experience with canyoneering. Scott and Diana were so patient with us. Helping and guiding us every step of the way. Even when we were scared they were always ready with an encouraging word taking our pictures. At the end of the 80 feet ascend, we saw the canyon from far and were amazed at what we had done. It was an awesome experience. I would highly recommend going to the Zion Adventure Company if you would like to get a guided canyoneering tour. We even rented the shoes socks and sticks for the narrows trail hike. There are a lot of choices in Springdale for outfitters, gear rental, and advice - I know because we visited just about all of them this week when we went to visit Zion National Park. None that I saw matched ZAC in professionalism, courtesy, and service. All of our silly questions about hiking the Zion Narrows were answered promptly and with real care and attention, and we were given just the gear we needed and not pushed or upsold on anything else. They even helped us find another shuttle when we discovered their service was all booked up for the morning we needed. Only downside is that their retail offerings are a bit light - some more gear for sale (layers, attire) would be nice, but I understand it's not their core business. Strongly recommended. read more

We went tubing, renting them from this company. The tubes have a cover to keep you well balanced, it feels like sandpaper in your legs. This would be fine if the river was actually high enough to float. The river was so shallow that we got stuck in a rock every 5 feet or so. Scooching yourself around them and rubbing your legs in the sand paper tube cover.. Well lets say that this is the day after and I've gone to the pharmacy to buy severe burn cream. They should not have rented us the tubes when they knew the river was too low. read more

My family and I did the High Adventure Day, and it was incredible. It's a great challenge if you have a healthy fear of heights, and it provided a unique way to interact with the landscape that we never would have experienced without the help of Zion Adventure Company. Jess and Michael were our guides, and everyone in our group had only good things to say about them! They made sure we knew we were safe even when we were doing things that terrified us. They were both knowledgeable and helpful, but also kind and a ton of fun. They had all seven of our names down almost immediately, which is impressive given the huge amount of people they must guide and assist every week. They gave us tips that we were able to utilize later in the week while exploring the park - I can't even recall the amount of times that myself or another family member had statements starting with "Jess said..." or "Michael said..." throughout the rest of the trip. We also rented drysuits and equipment through ZAC for out hike up the Narrows. The suits kept us dry and warm for the most part (the exception being one person in our group who was experiencing symptoms of hypothermia on the way down - make sure you bring warm layers). They also enabled us to lay in the river and float on the way down, which feels great after hours of hiking. I had an overall amazing experience with Zion Adventure Company, and I will definitely be renting and going on guided trips through them if I return. read more
