Friends and I ordered: Miel Latte - honey, cinnamon (cold) Black Sesame Latte - sweet cinnamon, ginger (hot) Americano (hot) Friend liked his Americano. His wife thought the black sesame Latte was too sweet. I have a sweet tooth and also felt my miel Latte was on the sweeter side but still decent. I liked the flavor profile; just needed less honey. Overall, pretty good for Peoria, average by big city standards. Service was good. They did not have coffee cup sleeves.

STILL my number 1 of ever, after hundreds of shops working coffee by cold brew, espresso, sparkling, and more between Philadelphia, St Paul, Miami, Denver, and San Diego, Zion remains the crowned! I am in love with their wildly wacky tonics, most recently this spring pomplemousse! The tea cake latte is fine too but I miss the old vibrant mixes that were more adventurous. There's a wholesome obnoxious vibe between pure white walls, dirty disco and thumping music, a polite and talented barista troupe, posh and perfect menu both alcoholic and food. Avo toast will convert the most hardened of appetites! I've never tried a cocktail yet a bit intoxicated with their methods for putting together java and espresso. I wish they offered discounts for personal cups, a more inviting and fair rewards program, and the bright big space suddenly becomes a small noisy circus on busy weekends but overall this is the ideal. Peoria should be proud!

If you're in Peoria, IL and looking for some good coffee, then head over to Zion Coffee Bar! They have a great selection of coffee drinks, and I love how they have pour overs. They make their own syrups and pastries as well! Zion is a great place to study or meet up with friends!

Such a cute coffee shop with a great ambiance! The food and coffee were stellar too! I would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area!

Cute ambiance, but my drink took upwards of 20 mins and was terrible! Super cute, but I definitely don't recommend for the wait and the price unless you are getting something very basic and have plenty of time. I tried the spring specialty cold brew and it had no sweetness and was almost sour. The food looked pretty although we didn't order any.

Zion is such a cool place. It's fun whether you're hanging out, catching up with friends, working on homework or sitting in a virtual seminar! The food is delicious, the coffee is so good and it's just worth coming back to over and over!

Review Visit: February 21st, 2017 Upscale, not uphill. Zion Coffee Company is based out of Morton and has recently branched out into having a retail location for purchasing/serving their coffee. A good friend of mine alerted me that this location has opened... so being a coffee lover, here I am... writing a blog post about Zion. Now, when I think of the word Zion, images of hills/mountains come to my mind. Zion National Park, Mt. Zion and the definition of the word itself. What Zion Coffee Bar is actually a rather upscale coffeehouse that is hospital white with little-to-none decor/a feeling of spaciousness. The interior is rather spacey and open and they offer a semi-private upstairs area that overlooks half of the coffeehouse. That's where I spent most of my time while here. Ok, so I am not a huge fan of the interior but what about the coffee? Well I had the day off from work and wanted to treat myself. So I grabbed a Jinotega pourover and a caramel macchiato. What I got was a decent tasting coffee and a macchiato that was more an espresso shot with a small wafer/cookie thing. The barista tried to explain that it would be a 3oz. shot of flavored espresso but I took it the wrong way and thought it was that much espresso in a cup with milk and flavorings. So I'm out $9 on two drinks and a tip. A bit miffed but whatever. So I sip the espresso and it's decent for being so little liquid. Then as my coffee cooled down, I sipped that and it was pretty decent, too. As I am alternating my drinks, this lady has her kid there. No big deal, right? Well, the kid kept screeching every few minutes. It almost made me leave early, but luckily she left before that happened. Sounds like a bad time, right? Well after the kid/mom left and I resigned myself to the fact that I actually enjoyed my coffee a bit, my opinion of the place improved. On top of sitting up stairs and enjoying the view, I was watching the cook make oodles and oodles of delicious looking food. I also noticed they had hard liquor behind the bar. My friend told me they served alcohol but it was after a certain time of the day. So if you are not feeling coffee, they offer alcohol, too. This may be the first coffeehouse I have been to that serves hard liquor! In the end, Zion offers a unique take of a coffeehouse. It is the plainest one I have visited so far that offered okay coffee and delicious looking food... Yet it seemed to be a hit as they were half full/constantly busy for the two hours I was there. By all means, don't let my 'meh' visit deter you from checking it out. I will probably go back once more just to see if I have a better 2nd visit. Stay caffeinated, my friends.

Listen, I'm not in Peoria often. Okay, I've only been to Peoria twice. But I was so thankful to run into Zion Coffee on my most recent visit! We were in town for a concert the night before, and desperately needed caffeine before making the three hour drive back to St. Louis. This place is beautiful. Tons of natural light, lots of light wood, and plants everywhere. It has huge ceilings and a plenty of seating. I was even more impressed when I realized they serve food! We had two americanos which were perfect, and we split the grain and veggie bowl and the classic avocado toast. Everything was so incredibly healthy and well-made. The staff was friendly, and it was pretty empty on a rainy Saturday morning. Grateful for the half hour I got to spend here! Definitely check it out if you're in the area.

One of the best coffee shops in town, they serve good seasonal menu options and have small bite desserts.

This place seem to have really good from scratch cooking methods and was able to accommodate our crazy allergies. Even at lunch, there was a lot of mood lighting and it was pretty dark. They had a lot of antiques and interesting furniture and decorations. As a family with young kids, I do wish they didn't see us next to the naked bodies in the artwork. It was very distracting for one of my kiddos during lunch. We were helped pretty quickly, but it did take a long time to get our food. Our food was outstanding. Everything was from scratch and it tasted really good. The baby really enjoyed it. This sweet potato fries are amazing. I was confused why the restaurant was so empty but perhaps it's because it takes so long to get your food? Or possibly Peoria I just can't support a nice restaurant like that. I was disappointed that I couldn't eat off the dinner menu. I was really looking forward to a few of the things on that menu. Perhaps next time we can get takeout so the kids won't get so antsy and try some of the dinner menu. Thank you hearth for a lovely lunch that was safe for our family!

We went on a Friday afternoon, and there were people in there, but still quiet, which was nice. We sat at the bar, and our server was helpful and checked us without being overbearing. They also had a board with special limited releases. We each had our own glass of wine and shared a third to try 3 different wines. Their prices are super reasonable, and they have quality selections. We also ordered some cheese to snack on. Delicious charcuterie options, as well as some other items like The Rock's hummus - yum! This is such a gem for the area. You can also take items home and shop from their storefront. Nice staff and a thoughtful menu. We will be back next time we are in town!

The drinks were excellent--well-balanced, creative, and clearly made with skill. There was also a live musician performing during my visit who was amazing and added a great atmosphere and really elevated the overall vibe. Service, however, was a mixed experience. One of the bartenders (a newer female bartender) was very friendly, attentive, and showed a lot of potential--she made a great impression despite seeming a bit new. Unfortunately, the other bartender completely brought the experience down. He came across as rude, disengaged, and honestly like he didn't want to be there at all. I understand it was a busy night, but there was very little sense of urgency from him, and wait times felt longer than they should have been--even factoring in the crowd. That said, I do understand everyone can have an off night, and given how good the drinks and atmosphere were (plus the positive reviews I've seen elsewhere), I'd likely be willing to give it another shot. Overall, great cocktails and ambiance, but inconsistent service keeps it from being a top-tier experience--for now. I will be happy to update following a repeat visit.
