Oh.My.Breakfast. This place is a definite must in the Peoria area!!! We were vacationing and enjoyed both the food offerings and the cocktails. It's a really nice area indoors and the outdoors seating is lovely as well. My omelet was perfectly prepared as was my cocktail. The Reese's pancakes that my husband devoured speak for themselves!! Our server was attentive and friendly while handling our party of six with ease. Don't miss your chance to experience Childers!!!

Still new to the area but have been here twice now and the vibes are pretty decent. Servers don't blow you away but they get the job done. The place has indoor and outdoor seating for those beautiful weekends. The food tasted made to order, I had the breakfast burrito which had good seasoning but the salsa helped out with that. Their drink menu is our fav as they have a few good brunch bevs to choose from. Would recommended and come back. Think they need a lil more hands to help as there was dirty dishes left after customers a lil longer than they should but everyone is having staffing issues, so it's forgivable. Check them out

We came here for Easter brunch! The staff was very friendly and there was no wait! I really like the interior of the restaurant, it was stylish and fresh. I ordered the Butternut Squash, Kale , & Pepita Tacos which was so good and came with these chips that were seasoned to perfection. I would buy a bag of them if I could! The tacos were a great portion and I felt very healthy eating them. They had some great flavors! My friend ordered the Harrisa Shakshuka which our waitress enthusiastically recommended and my friend says she was not disappointed! Our waitress also brought our more naan for her because the ratio of stuff & naan was off. Overal it was a very pleasant visit and we were both content with our meals and experience! I can't wait to try more things on the menu next time!

My wife and I eat out a lot. We have eaten at all 3 of Childers locations in Peoria,Il for (breakfast only) for many years. The University location always have a full house on Sunday's regardless of what time we go. You may have a little wait time. The Junction City location seems larger and also rather busy with a little wait time during the same time frame. The War Memorial restaurant usually is not as crowded and you usually can get seated right away. The food is cooked just right and ALWAYS fast and hot at all 3 locations. Service is off the chain at all locations. Very friendly employees. For my choice of the three,we go to the University location more. You don't go wrong at either of the locations!

    Barely brown on one side

I had to order delivery because I'm in a cast. I ordered a large breakfast to start this day off right. I asked for extra brown, extra crispy hash browns. You know, put some brown in those hash browns. They are barely cooked. The potatoes are white on one side and barely tan on the other. I spent $30 to have breakfast delivered from a nice place. The eggs were good, the bacon good, the pancakes cold and the hash browns not cooked. I'm just waiting anyway, I could have waited for the potatos to be cooked. Wow, I thought it would be much better. Ps: I only live a block away but can't get out of my house due to non weight bearing cast.

    CHILDERS BREAKFAST SPECIAL KILLLERRRR

Childers at Grand Prairie- Best breakfast menu in Peoria!! Always fantastic service in a very comfortable setting. Large portions great values with everything. Today's special was a fried glazed donut as a bun, covering flavorful ham/egg/cheese- delicious!! Please add to every day menu.

Amazing breakfast place!! Fantastic, unique menu. I had such a hard time choosing what to order. There was s'mores french toast and churro waffles on the menu! However, I decided to get the lemon berry French toast with a side of bacon. It was all delicious! My only complaint is that there were flies EVERYWHERE. We were sitting inside but there is a lot of tables outside too. Not sure if someone left a door or window open, but the inside was swarming with flies.... we were batting them away every other minute.

Visiting from out of state and decided to try some sit-down breakfast. Chose the salmon, bacon & avocado Benedict (no harissa, just regular hollandaise) and BLEW MY MIND. Figured it'd be good, but exceeded expectations. Accompanied by regular coffee which was also very good and love that they bring a whole pot. Might have to treat myself again before I leave town!

We can for breakfast early in a Sunday. There was only a ten minute wait! Lucky us I ordered the vegetarian omelet and my brother had the skillet. Both were amazing. They have so many options I wish I still lived here!! I also got the green goddess juice and it tastes very green apple forward. It was delicious. Overall the atmosphere is cute, service is great and the food is awesome! Worth the wait

Hearth has an upscale feel with a smaller dining room that creates an intimate atmosphere. Our server, Becky was very attentive and provided excellent service. She was knowledgeable, and her recommendations were spot-on. Our party of four all ordered the wood-fired charbroiled salmon with a smoked maple glaze, and it was delicious. The entrée comes with your choice of sides. My guests loved the brussels sprouts. I had the collard greens; the flavor was good, though they were a bit gritty. Overall, great food, service, and ambiance. We would definitely return.

This place seem to have really good from scratch cooking methods and was able to accommodate our crazy allergies. Even at lunch, there was a lot of mood lighting and it was pretty dark. They had a lot of antiques and interesting furniture and decorations. As a family with young kids, I do wish they didn't see us next to the naked bodies in the artwork. It was very distracting for one of my kiddos during lunch. We were helped pretty quickly, but it did take a long time to get our food. Our food was outstanding. Everything was from scratch and it tasted really good. The baby really enjoyed it. This sweet potato fries are amazing. I was confused why the restaurant was so empty but perhaps it's because it takes so long to get your food? Or possibly Peoria I just can't support a nice restaurant like that. I was disappointed that I couldn't eat off the dinner menu. I was really looking forward to a few of the things on that menu. Perhaps next time we can get takeout so the kids won't get so antsy and try some of the dinner menu. Thank you hearth for a lovely lunch that was safe for our family!

Bust'd Brewing busted me out of winter boredom with some beer and board games…read more Ever since I heard about Bust'd Brewing open up in Peoria Heights, I knew I'd end up there eventually and the time finally came. Emily and I both agreed that going out for a drink sounded good and I asked if she wanted to check out Bust'd and she said yup. We rolled up on a Friday night around 6pm and the place wasn't too busy. There was a couple couples in there so we grabbed a beer and took a seat and started playing some games. A coworker told me about Shut the Box and funny enough, it was on the table and we played quite a few rounds as we worked on our first beer. Emily's first beer was the That One Coach and my first one was the Cattails. I usually really enjoy hefeweizens but this one felt a bit flat. It lacked the banana and vanilla punch I am used to them having. It was good, don't get me wrong but didn't hit quite like hefeweizens usually hit. Emily said she really enjoyed her beer. I tried it but brown ales are not my cup of... beer. Once we switched to playing Anarchy Pancakes, we grabbed another beer. This time Emily got the Trailblazer and I got the Hazy not Hazy. I jokingly said the Hazy should be called Hazy not Crazy and the bartender (who I think might be one of the owners?) laughed and said she liked that. I told her she could use it for a future beer, free of charge. As we grabbed our beers, a family came in and took over the other half the big table we were at, so we hopped onto a 4-top to enjoy our new beer and new game. I really liked the Hazy not Hazy. Emily liked hers and we both wished that we would've gotten our 2nd choice for both our beers. The interior of the brewery is really nice. A lot of wood throughout and the place was brightly lit. This brewery is located in an old Subway building so if it looks like every other Subway out there, that is why. On the backside of the building is where The Other Dawg was located years ago. It is a bit small inside so if they are busy or are hosting an event, it could get crowded quick in there. They have a giant Connect Four and a plentiful board game collection to enjoy while you are there. I absolutely love that these social establishments are providing fun stuff to do and providing a place for people to gather and socialize. As we were paying our tab, I picked up a t-shirt and some stickers. The shirt was $25 (I think) and the stickers were $1 each. Emily grabbed a beer opener for $5. In hindsight, I wish I would've gotten a beer opener, too. Not just to support a local business but they were pretty good quality, too. If you need a social spot to grab some beer and space to play some board games, Bust'd Brewing should make your list. They also have a ton of events to attend if that's more your thing. Cheers!
