Oh.My.Breakfast. This place is a definite must in the Peoria area!!! We were vacationing and enjoyed both the food offerings and the cocktails. It's a really nice area indoors and the outdoors seating is lovely as well. My omelet was perfectly prepared as was my cocktail. The Reese's pancakes that my husband devoured speak for themselves!! Our server was attentive and friendly while handling our party of six with ease. Don't miss your chance to experience Childers!!!

Still new to the area but have been here twice now and the vibes are pretty decent. Servers don't blow you away but they get the job done. The place has indoor and outdoor seating for those beautiful weekends. The food tasted made to order, I had the breakfast burrito which had good seasoning but the salsa helped out with that. Their drink menu is our fav as they have a few good brunch bevs to choose from. Would recommended and come back. Think they need a lil more hands to help as there was dirty dishes left after customers a lil longer than they should but everyone is having staffing issues, so it's forgivable. Check them out

We came here for Easter brunch! The staff was very friendly and there was no wait! I really like the interior of the restaurant, it was stylish and fresh. I ordered the Butternut Squash, Kale , & Pepita Tacos which was so good and came with these chips that were seasoned to perfection. I would buy a bag of them if I could! The tacos were a great portion and I felt very healthy eating them. They had some great flavors! My friend ordered the Harrisa Shakshuka which our waitress enthusiastically recommended and my friend says she was not disappointed! Our waitress also brought our more naan for her because the ratio of stuff & naan was off. Overal it was a very pleasant visit and we were both content with our meals and experience! I can't wait to try more things on the menu next time!

My wife and I eat out a lot. We have eaten at all 3 of Childers locations in Peoria,Il for (breakfast only) for many years. The University location always have a full house on Sunday's regardless of what time we go. You may have a little wait time. The Junction City location seems larger and also rather busy with a little wait time during the same time frame. The War Memorial restaurant usually is not as crowded and you usually can get seated right away. The food is cooked just right and ALWAYS fast and hot at all 3 locations. Service is off the chain at all locations. Very friendly employees. For my choice of the three,we go to the University location more. You don't go wrong at either of the locations!

    Barely brown on one side

I had to order delivery because I'm in a cast. I ordered a large breakfast to start this day off right. I asked for extra brown, extra crispy hash browns. You know, put some brown in those hash browns. They are barely cooked. The potatoes are white on one side and barely tan on the other. I spent $30 to have breakfast delivered from a nice place. The eggs were good, the bacon good, the pancakes cold and the hash browns not cooked. I'm just waiting anyway, I could have waited for the potatos to be cooked. Wow, I thought it would be much better. Ps: I only live a block away but can't get out of my house due to non weight bearing cast.

Amazing breakfast place!! Fantastic, unique menu. I had such a hard time choosing what to order. There was s'mores french toast and churro waffles on the menu! However, I decided to get the lemon berry French toast with a side of bacon. It was all delicious! My only complaint is that there were flies EVERYWHERE. We were sitting inside but there is a lot of tables outside too. Not sure if someone left a door or window open, but the inside was swarming with flies.... we were batting them away every other minute.

    Salmon, bacon & avocado Benedict

Visiting from out of state and decided to try some sit-down breakfast. Chose the salmon, bacon & avocado Benedict (no harissa, just regular hollandaise) and BLEW MY MIND. Figured it'd be good, but exceeded expectations. Accompanied by regular coffee which was also very good and love that they bring a whole pot. Might have to treat myself again before I leave town!

    CHILDERS BREAKFAST SPECIAL KILLLERRRR

Childers at Grand Prairie- Best breakfast menu in Peoria!! Always fantastic service in a very comfortable setting. Large portions great values with everything. Today's special was a fried glazed donut as a bun, covering flavorful ham/egg/cheese- delicious!! Please add to every day menu.

There were two tables of customers. Seven people total. I stood waiting to be seated for five minutes before I finally left.

The food itself has an amount of freshness that I quite honestly have not been able to find outside of homemade from the garden. I got the BLT with tomato soup and it was absolutely delicious, the sandwich had a small kick at the end which I felt added an extra flavor profile. The tomato soup was unique, you could tell that it was house made with garden fresh ingredients by the way it tasted and the way it looked. Didn't taste anything like from the can, this soup was mild and refreshing, lastly the view and outside environment was so relaxing it brought everything together. Would highly recommend :)

It made eating the dish that much more painful. The serving sizes were very large The service was also very friendly. This place seem to have really good from scratch cooking methods and was able to accommodate our crazy allergies. Even at lunch, there was a lot of mood lighting and it was pretty dark. They had a lot of antiques and interesting furniture and decorations. As a family with young kids, I do wish they didn't see us next to the naked bodies in the artwork. It was very distracting for one of my kiddos during lunch. We were helped pretty quickly, but it did take a long time to get our food. Our food was outstanding. Everything was from scratch and it tasted really good. The baby really enjoyed it. This sweet potato fries are amazing. I was confused why the restaurant was so empty but perhaps it's because it takes so long to get your food? Or possibly Peoria I just can't support a nice restaurant like that. I was disappointed that I couldn't eat off the dinner menu. I was really looking forward to a few of the things on that menu. Perhaps next time we can get takeout so the kids won't get so antsy and try some of the dinner menu. Thank you hearth for a lovely lunch that was safe for our family!
