They had me at Trek Fuel EXe, the electric mountain bike they rented for our tour of the Wire Mesa Loop. They sized me and set it all up and had me test out the gears and test ride so that when we were shuttled to the trailhead we were ready to go with no adjustments. The staff at the store were cheerful, helpful, and really went beyond in my opinion. Wally, our shuttle driver was great and I'd request him in the future. We ran into him on the trail and we all stopped and he took cute pictures of us. Thanks Wally. The bikes were so great that we both want to get one. Sigh, some day. They also have bike clothes. I buy most of mine online and that can be disappointing. I got a great jersey top there. It fits! Yay! They also recommended where to get great sandwiches (Deep Creek Coffee, a block away) and wow was that a perfect recommendation. As a hardtail owner and frequent rider, my biggest worry was sub-standard rental bikes. Nope, these folks have their own service area off the main room and my bike was in perfect condition. Banging down the slickrock obstacles and feeling the bike take care of me and own the line as the rocks challenged me along the way was a flying joy. A joy that only confidence in your machine gives. I have visited Zion NP multiple times to date, but this time around I decided to join a Gravel Bike Race. Since the associated bike rental shop with the Race was a little too far from the park (St. George) and the bikes they had when I checked their website was not one I was familiar with, I started searching local Bike Rentals in Springdale. I compared reviews and spent a good amount of time reading them and called 3 shops for comparison on what they offered. Zion Cycles is a full service shop in Springdale, I have seen many customers come in to the shop saying they went elsewhere to get their own bike repaired but other shops couldn't since most shops offer rentals only. My experience with my first call (I believe Ashley helped me) was great, she spent the time to answer all my questions about renting and the purpose of me renting it. I didn't feel rushed at all and we were able to secure two rentals for my friend and I. I believe the rental prices are also great here for what they are offering. The fact that they have "Trek" bikes which is my favorite brand also helped me decide that this shop was for me. Upon arrival to rent the bikes before our race, we wanted to test them out so I had reserved the bikes for two full days even though we just needed them for a few hours. Emily helped us get the bikes prepared and knowing that we were there for a gravel race, she ensured these bikes were tuned up, maintained and had everything we need including an emergency kit. This was simply not a "go ahead and pickup the bike in any condition" but they really took the time to ensure nothing goes wrong. The next time I am in Zion, I will be renting from Zion Cycles again to take that nice cruise around the scenic drive and the Pa'rus bike path. When you leave a shop like this with excellent service, they definitely deserve to be visited again. My fiancée and I wanted to get away for the weekend and spend some time in Zion. With all of the covid guidelines in place we missed getting shuttle passes so decided to rent some e-bikes instead to help us get around the park. We rented on a whim and lucked out with getting the last bike of the day. This was our first time using an e-bike which ended up being really cool. We shared a tandem bike which easily fit us both and were able to rent by the hour. The bike allows you to ride three ways - pedaling normally, pedal assist and power throttle. Our max speed we got to was around 20 mph. (Similar to a bird scooter) It was a blast & a unique experience to experience the park and trails this way. I'd highly recommend it to anyone. My boyfriend and I went to Zion NP during Memorial Day weekend after recent opening of the park. It was so overcrowded that the first day we had to walk from the Visitor center to Kayenta trail and back. We walked over 16 miles that day and could not bear to walk that the second day. So we rented out bikes last minute the next day and that was the best decision I had made. I fell in love with the bike I rented and ended up buying it off of them. We made last minute plans for bike riding through Zion and came in the morning of our visit. Rental process was quick and easy. Signed some liability forms electronically and paid! We got one bike, one ebike and a trailer for our 15month old. They went over instructions needed for safety and operation and we were on our way! We rented for the day and returned them by closing at 530pm. Drop off was easy as well. Grateful for available bikes but then again it was during the week- on a Wednesday. I found this Zion business very cognizant of COVID-19; every employee has a mask on and social distancing was instructed by the first employee I met. Brought in a bad tire at 10 min to closing, Stu put on a new tire, very old rim strip, tube was good--in no time flat. These folks deserve all the 5 stars you see here. This place is very organized, following distance measures. The staff was very helpful even when they were busy in the morning. I forgot my multipurpose bike tool with the chain link tool, and they had two versions which were fairly priced. Gotta have one just in case something fails on the 18 mile ride. No way I'm walking! Whatever you do, don't use Zion Cycles. Their bikes are junk. I rented 2 ebikes for myself and my sister. Chain came off and jammed halfway up the scenic route and ruined the day. They wouldn't pick up phone or call me back when I was stranded. I finally found helpful man with tools to help me and we could see that this was not the first time this happened with this chain. When I got back they blamed me for "shifting wrong" going up hill and told me this was one of the newer chains. I ride all the time...,I KNOW how to ride a bike. I own several bikes and have done multiple 100 mile MS rides. They offered no resolution and I was too tired to bother with it further. I'll just never go back there and have told my biking/hiking groups the same. read more

I'm from the east coast and have never heard of these 'goat heads'. I went cycling with my partner for a few hours and came back to our van to rest. We went outside about two hours later to find 3 of 4 tires flat!!!! I had no idea you had to use slime and other protective measures out west. We took our bikes here to get 4 new tires...less than 24 hrs later we had our bikes back in excellent condition and we were on our way. They price it as very reasonable too; $105 for 4 tubes/slime. I reserved a bike prior to arriving since it seemed like a more fun option to get to the trails than a shuttle. Since my plans changed which they often do with spontaneous travel - The day of my reservation I stopped in to see if they could switch my reservation to the next day. Unexpectedly, she was not resistant to this request at all and offered I take the bike before they close that evening instead of the early morning pick up. Such a great and considerate idea. She also gave me a partial refund as I wouldn't need to drop it off after hours anymore. I had the best time biking 5.5 mi one way - climbing 500ft to emerald pools. The shifts on the bike were adequate for the uphill and the downhill was so fun I didn't even have to pedal. I recommend going out early. I started at 6:45am, and returned around 9:30am and the park and bike shop packed. Traffic to get into the park, and so many people on the roads walking and biking. If you are comfortable on a bike and in decent shape, reserving a bike is the way to go. read more

Zion Cycles is THE WORST!!!!! There are many places to rent ebikes in Zion and I can say with 100% certainty...Zion Cycles has to be the absolute WORST! Do not go anywhere near this place My family was looking forward to biking in and out of the Narrows for months, that's the main activity we drove 8 hours to Zion to experience. We rented 4 ebikes and everything was going great....until the chain exploded off my son's bike 3.5 miles from the entrance to the Narrows. We were stranded with no cell service and no functioning bike....but thank god we were able to drag my husband on the dead bike for the last 3 miles to the narrows...then we had to leave the bikes there and get on the crowded public shuttle to get back to town. (we wanted nothing to do with the shuttle which is why we got bikes in the first place) We never got to ride back and our entire experience and day was completely screwed up. When we arrived back at Zion Cycles, we were literally in SHOCK at their reaction. Not only could they have cared less...but they would not even refund the bike! Is that a JOKE?????? They should refund MORE than just that one bike, but the broken bike is a given! The extremely condescending manager just kept repeating like a broken record "we don't refund for broken chains and we usually charge to go retrieve the bikes as well'. I'm sorry WHAT? So, not only do you not give people a refund when their entire day is ruined because of your faulty equipment....but you want to charge them MORE to go retrieve the bikes? After reading other reviews...may people have mentioned that this same thing happened to them...their bike chain broke, their expensive adventure was ruined and they were not refunded a dime. I paid almost $600 for these bikes and the experience with the manager was truly shocking...disappointing....disgusting...I cant think of enough horrible words to describe the terrible customer service at this place. Zion is very popular in LA where I live and I will make a point to let all my friends know NOT to go anywhere this awful business. There are so many other great places in Springdale to rent bikes.
