They were very helpful to sell a bike but when I went to pick it up it was like I was bothering them. First they couldn't find the bike then I was kidding and asked the owner if he per-serviced the bike for me and kind of being nasty said the bike was ready to take when you bought it. I want to have them check it and I didn't have my bike rack with me at the time of sale. Also owner charged me a $30.00 COVID-19 SHIPPING FEE even though I purchased and picked up bike at the store. I think it was a rip off and I asked the owner to wave it and he said no that he had to pay extra for shipping which is a crock. But there are no bikes around and he had the one that I wanted so I had to buy it or any other time I would have walked out and went some where else. So if you want to pay extra shop here. read more

So we haven't been to our beach house a lot this Spring. Corona hit and we were on lock down. We purchased several bikes from Zippy's in Wildwood during the Winter .The staff was friendly and helpful. We did spend over $2500, our oldest son wanted a triathlon bike so we bit the bullet so to speak. My daughter got a bike and our youngest son Lex got a bike. My youngest son's bike was a Corona beer bike. It was used , but since we spent so much money they put a Zippy's bike sticker on it to be fixed yearly like the new bikes. Like I said we weren't able to use the bikes until just recently because we were quarantined in NY. Poor Lex rides his bike every morning and every time he rode his bike the chain popped off. Every time poor Lex had to walk the bike home. Every time we had to bring it back to Zippy's. They even suggested putting a new rear rim on it, so we did. Still the chain kept popping off, so I kept calling, I spoke to Lisa, Aaron, and Stacey. I said that I would like to return the bike or use it as a trade in towards money for a new bike. We weren't going to keep bringing back, and we were not going to send our son out on a defective bike . So we called this morning, they hung up on me, I called back they put the fax machine on, I called back they put it to voice mail. After 6 times they picked up. I said please stop avoiding me, stand by what you sold , act with professionalism, and either take the bike back or use it as a down payment for a new bike. Stacey was very loud and rude and said it is a used bike and they did what they could, I said we spent thousands in the store, and hundreds on the bike and it is defective. Stacy said to bring the bike down; we did. She said we will give you $70 for the tire , ( we paid $250 for the bike and $70 for the tire) that they said would fix the problem. I said if we are giving you the bike back, you should be able to give us money for parts etc, the bike is defective, you can't fix it and we are purchasing another one from your store. So Stacy went to the back of the store and said to the mechanic , " before I lose it, please tell me you can give me more money to take this Corona bike". He said, I can't. He said we can try and fix it again. We said are child is in danger on a defective bike. We said you have looked at the bike over 3 times and you made us by the tire saying that would fix it. At that point the owner who was listening the whole time came over screaming, and I mean screaming about how we were harassing his staff . He said his staff works over 80 hours a week ( which is illegal ) and has done everything they can. We said we paid over $300 and we have a defective bike. He still screamed and screamed to get out of his store. He said he was going to call the cops, he shoved me, and we then asked him to call the cops because that is simple assault!! We understand that small business owners are under a great deal of stress and that many businesses are going bankrupt , so people are under a great deal of stress, but this was out and out the worst treatment I have ever seen. We were trying to be fair and they were just rude and violent . We will never step foot in there again ( they don't want us there either). The owner nearly had a stroke; he must be so desperate to treat people like that . I truly feel sorry for him and his 80 hour a week over worked staff. Stacy just showed up on my Facebook! Took my xtracycle edgerunner there for a blown tube. We use the bike extensively and we're here on vacation so didn't have any repair materials with us and were super bummed. These guys had us in and out in less than 10 mins even with panniers and everything else on this fully loaded bike- on the 4th of July and for well less than $30. Back home this woulda taken 2 days. Took my old MTB in for its long overdo tune-up - the bike is nearly 30 years old and after getting it back from Zippy's it honestly feels and rides better than it did back in 1990. Super fast service (basically overnight), fair price, and what really got me was the enthusiasm everyone in the store seems to have for bicycles. I am visiting from San Francisco for our annual family trip to Wildwood Crest and wanted to get a few cycling rides in during our stay. I found Zippy's via a Google search and made a reservation online for a 58cm Trek. Upon the arrival, the staff was super attentive, switched out the pedals for clips as requested when I made the reservation and even brought out a 60cm bike for me to try. After trying out the 60cm I decided to switch and in a matter of minutes, they made all the necessary changes immediately. I was very impressed and quite frankly pleasantly surprised with the level of attention, customer service and quality of the bike. Great customer service! Decent prices! I have been to this bike shop several times over the last two years. I was having trouble installing a new pedal so I threw my bike in my Jeep and brought it over Saturday morning. The store was pretty busy at 9am but I was greeted and served within 2 minutes of walking in. I told the lady my issue and my bike was whisked to the back and reappeared in less than five minutes ready to ride. The repair guy was pleasant as could be and the repair cost way less than I thought it would. I will definitely be back. read more

Stopped in one day on my freshly built cruiser to check out the shop while on vacation. Immediately hit it off with the staff. Super friendly and knowledgable. They carry a great assortment of custom parts that you can't find at other shops or sites. Ended up dropping a couple hundred on parts right then. Then came back that same day with another friend and she bought a bike. They swapped out some parts for her and we were off. Bought a beach cruiser from Zippy's previously and received excellent service on the delivery of it. Was doing my daily ride on the boardwalk today and somehow the chain came loose. Fortunately I was relatively close to the store and although they were not yet officially open, Nick was more than willing to help me out. He not only put the chain back on but did a complete "once over" of the entire bike, making the various adjustments and complete cleaning and lubrication of the chain. He did this without any reluctance whatsoever and reinforces the strong "customer service" philosophy of this local store. Living locally the last thing you want to do is travel anywhere. I contacted Zippys and inquired about having a bike serviced and tuned up on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. Monday morning the bike was dropped off and they told me the bike would be done by 4pm, much to my surprise I received a call at 1230pm. Before, I left we went over the bike together and they were very patient with questions I had. I felt very comfortable in the shop. Sometimes as a female you can feel pressured or uncomfortable. have lived in Wildwood for 3 years now and heard nothing but good things about this place. I walked in a the guy at the front counter told me to give him a minute. He sat behind the counter talking to coworkers for 5 min and then a kid realized I was waiting and immediatly starts helping me. The kid goes to find the right tire then the guy comes from behind the counter and quotes me 35 dollars. Perfectly fine. Could have been 50 and it would have been fine. Then the kid gets back with the tire and I ask him how much the actual tire was. He says 25, plus the tube and labor which ended up being over 45. The guy interrupts the kid very rudely and says, "you want it? It's the price we already discussed." I replied, "no. you told me it was 35. I was good with 35. What happened to 35?" He replies, "well you need air also." The guy was straight rude. I never write reviews. Somebody needs to know how much of a dick this guy was. I proceeded to call Kona. They had the tire for 10 dollars cheaper and did not charge me for labor and air. Almost $20 cheaper. I told the guy kona has the tire for 10 dollars less. He opened the door for me and said, "ok have a nice day." The guy did not even open the door for me when I was trying to bring the bike in. Was having a awesome day till I had to interact with him. Just straight unpleasant. Like I was a peice of scum. I even wanted a new chain. Maybe he did not think I had money. I brought 150 with me. read more

The gentleman that worked with us was extremely helpful and even brought my new bike out to my car for me.
