Usually a great place to get pizza until my experience last night. It's pretty pricey to begin with but the pizza is pretty good. I ordered two large 2 topping pizzas for myself, my son and his girlfriend. I was told 45 minutes for delivery. After waiting a little over an hour, I called and was told they're running behind. Fair enough. I work in customer service and understand things happen. Well, over 2 hours later, I called again and a manager answered. I was told there were problems tonight and he apologized. My son and his girlfriend had to leave and the pizzas finally arrived 10 minutes after they left. No offer of a discount or anything other than the driver apologizing that it took so long. 52 dollars for 2 large 2 topping pizzas and arriving 2 hours and 20 mi4after ordering? I just phoned in an order at 6:03pm, worker said 30 minutes. I arrived at 6:30pm, paid approximately $20 for my pizza and then sat there in the lobby till 7:00pm. It is great pizza...but it took 1 hours and 50 minutes!!! It said was supposed to be 50 minute delivery originally according to an app. The app kept pushing the time out and we just thought it was a busy night. But then, it was 1 hour and 30 minutes after we ordered, so we decided to call. Every time we called to check on the delivery, they put us on hold and never returned back to the call. My husband had to finally just drive over to the restaurant to get our food, that we already paid for through the app. Management was not very accommodating unfortunately. When I went up to the counter and showed them in the empty restaurant the puffy pizza that looked like a cake, the 3 kids at the counter made all kinds of excuses. The pizza man in the back was listening, never suggested giving me another slice or taking it back, nope that was how that pizza came out, it didn't rise, etc., and that was our pie! Yet, I purposely went in there because I figured quick service, and an old name in Orange. Not the case at all, the place across the street, The Pizza Press was packed with a line out the door and the custom pizza place on the circle, Blaze Pizza with another huge line out the door were the hot tickets. I am a fan of Zito's. My family comes here a lot for our Sunday family dinners. We always order the Zito's special pizza (order it with no bacon, it is too salty with the bacon) and a garden salad. The pizza is very yummy, pricey though. You can run up tab quickly with just pizza and salads. Recently we tried the greek salad and took a liking to it. The staff is friendly and they check back with your table to make sure everything is going well. Their Italian vinaigrette dressing is great! We love to dip our pizza in it. I am rating 5 stars for the great pizza flavor, the cleanliness, and the accuracy. The only thing I recommend is to please remind your staff to great customers with a smile. The cashier was a guy. He was friendly, acknowledged me, and repeated my order. A lady came to drop of my pizza at my table. She did not acknowledge me, nor say hi, nor smile. I am just giving you guys some friendly advice. I understand weekends are busy and I have worked fast food, but it is better to at least fake a smile than no smile, let alone no greeting. The delivery came in half the time that was told me on the phone (goodness) but the ''HOT'' sandwich had never seen the inside of an oven or a toaster or whatever made it so good in the restaurant. If I could give no star's at all I would. My husband and I went there on Saturday we ordered our usual got our #85 and went to sit in the dinning room. But there air was out it was to hot to stay so I asked them to make it to go. The employee took her food looked at an order sitting on top of the oven and exchanged it. The customer left. And the person who had that food order that was returned. Wad served food that left the restaurant with someone else. This bothered me I was sure the woman who got the returned food was going to say something she was right next to me. So fast forward my situation.my husband said its been more than 6 minutes now so he asks this time. Turns out our pizza was hanging out in the dinning room with the guy who orders a personal pizza and got #85. So DJ the same guy who served the returned wings. Comes back from the dinning room puts our pizza in a box and salad and proceeds to give it to us. He insists it okay. So the you want me to believe that the guy who I watched sneak in his own cup who bought the smallest pizza they make didn't touch this large pizza they put in front of him, who by the way didn't say that's not what I ordered. So DJ gets upset because we refused the food and says it's going to be another 15min. Seeing what is going on with the food we say no we want our money back. He's being very hostile towards us and said I put 9 dallars back on your card. I said what we paid 31.22 he said there's nothing wrong with salad. I told the salad didn't cost 22 dallars. And I'm not taking any of the food I want my money back. He again said there's nothing wrong with food. We said we can't eat food that's been sitting at someone's table all this time. He said to us that's your choice. So again we ask for our money back he says he refunded it but refused to give us a receipt stating so. We ask if there's a manager and wouldn't you know its the woman taking orders next to all the chaos going on with us and DJ. She should have stepped in minutes ago. She takes over can't figure out what DJ did and says she needs to call her manager. We've invested more than an hour already. She comes out and said she can't give us a receipt but in a couple of days we should check our credit card and if it's still on there give them a call. Life's hard enough with out having to deal with this kind of incompetence And sheer rudeness and lack of respect for customers and food safety. I know I will never be back there. I was working close to their store on Tustin in orange and decided to pop in for a slice. I forgot how great this place is. I left wanting more so on my way home I decided to stop by again and get something I had discovered on their menu back in 2011 when I was once an employee of theirs at their location off of Katella by the angels stadium...their CALZONE!!! Truly mind blowing. They give you three toppings of your choice and I went with pepperoni, bacon, and red onion. I've been on a Zito's kick for the past week now and so is my family. Brought the family here because my boys love the garlic knots. Well, ordered a large pizza, garlic knots and lasagna for my wife. The pizza came out fine, but after ten minutes I had to go ask about the rest of the order. They clearly forgot as the cooks were just looking around. It took another ten minutes to just get the garlic knots and my son had to go to the counter again after another ten or fifteen minutes to check on the lasagna. I'm so disapointed in Zitos. It used to be a good place to eat. The last 4 times it has been bad food with horriable service on the up side prices have gone up. $23 for my GF and I. No alcohol just cokes. We got the appetizer after we were done eating. The manager even asked to take our number I told him what we were still waiting for and he went back into the kitchen and never came out. 13 miniutes later one of the ladies wiping off tables tried to take the number I explained we still needed our appetizer.
