They were consistently good. Then we saw the service start to slip about 6 months ago. I'm writing this review waiting at another restaurant down the street because we just walked out of Finney's after getting seated. This is the second time we've walked out of Finney's. Both times we just got tired of sitting at our table waiting for a server to come talk to us. They see us. They know we're there. No "hey we're really busy but we'll be right with you." I came here a few times already with my wife and this place is really good! Menu is pretty diverse and seems pretty busy the last few times we were here. Great place to come have a couple of drinks as well and watch some local sport games. There are also a few games in the back you can play. We started off with the carnitas nachos and it was pretty good. Very filling and a good amount for the both of us. No complaints there. For our main course, my wife ordered a couscous salad of some sort. She really enjoyed it. I chose the Wagyu Burger and this was expected from this restaurant. Went to Finney's craft house @ orange center for the first time. The food was okay the fries were good but the only problem I had was that..... they gave me a used/dirty cup. I didn't notice the cup yet until I DRANK from it and noticed a lipstick mark on the cup. You would think that the people serving you would look at the dishes and make sure they are clean before they serve your food that you are paying for. It was very disappointing and disgusting drinking from a cup that you expect to be cleaned but ends up probably not even getting cleaned and just reused. read more

We ordered the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice and Crispy Brussels to share. Our drinks came out first, followed by the food. The Passionfruit Sour was well-balanced. It wasn't too sweet or sour, and the passionfruit flavor can be tasted. The Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice came with five pieces. It was good. The rice was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The spicy tuna was okay, but didn't stand out. The Crispy Brussels were also good. The tamarind ponzo was tart yet salty. There were only a couple pieces of fig, which were an interesting add to the dish. Overall, giving Finney's Crafthouse a 4/5. There is lots of seating inside and there's a covered outdoor patio with seating. It can get noisy when sitting indoors, which makes it difficult to hear the people you are sitting with. The restaurant was busy... but customer service should still be a thing. On our last visit, I ordered the chicken chipotle bowl. The one thing I wish is that the menu specified that the sauce was... added after the fact (like drizzled on?) versus the chicken being marinated in it. What a great experience! This restaurant has the appearance of a regular sports bar but the food is immaculate. Our server was so sweet and all of our food came out quickly and was hot. We got the chicken and waffles, the crispy brussel sprouts, and the ceasar salad with added blackened shrimp. For drinks we got the old fashioned and a glass of Sauvignon blanc. The chicken and waffles were perfect, probably the best chicken in waffles we've had in so cal coming in on top in comparison to the chicken and waffles at Georgia's and Bruxie. The waffle was crisp and fluffy and the chicken tender was cooked to perfection and seasoned very well. I also enjoyed that the chicken and waffles came already dressed in a light syrup so that you didn't need to constantly be pouring syrup all over the place. The brussel sprouts were such a flavor bomb. The crispy exterior with the tender bite were a great texture combination and the roasted figs, furikake seasoning, and savory flavors were such a delicious pairing. I imaging if we added bacon it would've been even more delightful. The ceasar salad was very tasty and well done. It went very well with their sauv blanc. I did wish there was either more shrimp on the plate or larger shrimp mainly because the seafood to salad ratio was leaning a bit too much into the salad and I found myself having to really save my shrimp for specific bites. On a Friday night in June, I found myself in Orange and needing a place for beer and food--and I found Finney's! The bar team was on it and super busy, so I appreciated that they made an effort to make sure I was taken care of. There were a bunch of beers on tap, and that fit my vibe completely. After getting a beverage, I ordered the Jalapeno egg burger, which was really delicious! It's a bit spicy, but the fried egg on top was a nice balance to the spice. As another recent review has mentioned, the service has really gone down hill. We are very frequent visitors and have had poor experiences the last couple times when it comes to the hostesses/seating and service itself. Tonight we put our name down on yelp and received a text that we would receive another message when our table was ready. The wait time quoted 4-14 mins. 45 mins later, I went to check at the host stand and was told I needed to check in with them first? I've never had to do that in the past nor did the yelp text say to do so. They then said it'd be another 25 mins for an outdoor table despite there being two clearly open tables. Situations like this happen frequently where the hostesses run very behind, are confused, and give false information resulting in extremely long wait times. Not just because they're busy. We then sat at our table for 10-15 mins before we had to flag someone down to find us a server. The food is very good for bar food and the outdoor ambiance is great, especially for families with kids. The water tastes very bad though. All in all, would highly recommend they train the host and wait staff better and it'd be a 5 star from me. read more
