Best to check this restaurant's menu in advance. Everything we ordered there was very good, but some things we might have wanted are not available on the menu. For example, there is very little seafood on the menu. They have Fish Ball with Egg Noodle Soup. If you don't want the soup, they will serve you just the fish balls, but you need to ask for it to be done for you off of the menu. We also asked for shrimp as an entree. They don't have it on the menu, but they provided it upon request, although we were told that they do not always have it. On the menu, we ordered and liked the Spicy Edamame, the Fried Tofu with Chili Sauce, and the Stir Fried Egg with Tomato. They have wine and beer, but only the beers are in the refrigerator in the dining room. We ordered white wine. It was served room temperature, which is not at all appropriate for white wine. For a second glass, we explicitly requested cold white wine. They then did bring out a glass of cold white wine from the kitchen. We would have been much happier if the menu included more seafood, and if the white wine was served cold without the need to request that it be chilled. read more

We ordered take out and the hostess was pleasant and quick. Food left much to be desired. I ordered the sweet sour ribs, my husband ordered the general tsos and we got chicken fried rice for the kids. My husband's order and mine seemed very different but in the end we both mostly tasted soy sauce. And mine was swimming in it unlike the thicker sauce that is seen on their menu. My in-laws live in Lawrence, so I've picked up Chinese food from here a few times when I've been in the area. The food is always ready quickly, and the staff at the counter are friendly. I have ordered the cumin lamb twice. The flavor of the dish is excellent, though I would say that there are a lot more sautéed onions in the dish than pieces of lamb. The lamb is pretty fatty too. My favorite dish I have tried from here is the Mapo Tofu. I asked for it to be vegetarian (it normally has meat in it) and it was delicious. The portion size was generous as well, and I was able to eat the leftovers for lunch the next day. I would say the prices are a little on the higher side. I have never dined in, but I did notice they have a lunch buffet too. read more

In the space that formerly hosted O's Korean comes this new Chinese noodle eatery with a web site that made our mouths water and looked to be exactly what we wanted. And I really wanted this to be a good experience because I love Chinese noodle bowls with their broth, chewy noodles, just a little bit of meat (most), some tasty vegetables and maybe a bit of heat either in the bowl or on the side. And this town could use more of a variety of this nature. I make regular trips to Queens and NYC for such bowls, even Calgary which has a large and wonderful Asian food scene, so not an inexperienced judge of such dishes. We found a little of what we wanted but left mostly disappointed and out over $50 with tip for the experience. The space itself is attractive enough at the entrance and the staff was there to greet us, but the dining room is a sea of empty space, even in Covid times, and could use a few more tables, something on the walls, maybe some plants. Décor aside, it certainly is not their strong suit. During our ordering and waiting a serviceperson was drilling holes in the walls, mounting and connecting a big screen television with assistance from a server when he wasn't tied up with his duties. Another individual came in with an employee and they were pointing to a small water spot in the ceiling and discussing it out of ear shot. Experienced restauranteurs would never engage in this during a dinner hour, and therein, my guess, is part of the problem here. We ordered the dumplings because they're usually a hit, but they were so so, not made in-house and didn't taste fresh. That'd be an instant reduction in food cost to make in-house, and certainly an improvement on these. An appetizer our server said was a traditional Chinese offering was offered to us at not cost. Some type of wrap, the composition of which we could not identify, was stuffed with parts of a cut up hot dog and some vegetables. I'm dubious that's traditional, and quite frankly don't care about traditional this or that as long as it tastes good. Jarringly salty, it was not pleasant. I had the Roasted Lamb Noodle soup. At $16.95 for the bowl with a broth that was uninteresting and didn't find pleasing, noodles far overcooked and past their prime, a few vegetables, and beef that was not seasoned well (an opinion) and I believe had been sitting too long. A mound of dried hot peppers in the middle was the heat. It was too much of an attempt not handled well. Pleasing to look at, disappointing to taste. My wife had the Hot & Sour Beef Noodle Soup. We traded tastes, equally uninspiring. We didn't notice on the in-house menu but on the web site they show they're offering Mexican fare here, another perplexing twist. To be honest, at least it appeared a Hispanic couple was working the kitchen so maybe that's the thing to get here. Honestly, most of the Chinese food in this town the kitchens are staffed with Hispanic folks doing the cooking. I don't have a problem with who is doing the cooking as long as the food is good. I just know that browsing the menu and suddenly Steak Fajitas or Burrito and Enchilada combinations next to Szechuan Noodle Soups is jarring. I hope things pick up here and I'm pulling for them, but even being open awhile and boasting four 5-star ratings (yeah, riiiiighttt...) on Google, three of which appear clearly bogus, I think they have their work cut out for them. We knew another dining party from that evening and chatted with them. They didn't look happy. If you come: service is polite and courteous, no complaints there. Credit cards accepted, no alcohol, didn't ask if they plan on a liquor license. They offer contactless pick-up, a plus. If you're looking for inexpensive, move on, it isn't here. Dedicated parking in a lot along side a few other businesses, shouldn't be an issue. read more

No offense to any locals here, but every single Chinese restaurant I've been to since I came over from Boston's has been pretty bad except for this place, Red Pepper, and Monkey King BBQ over in Olathe. If you want to eat well here, I suggest you order some of the more authentic dishes like the pork belly or the beef noodle soup, etc. If you're here for, like, General Tso's chicken with a side of crab rangoons and a large Diet Coke, you're probably not gonna get the full experience. read more

Excellent authentic Szechuan beef noodle soup! The homemade noodles are good and the broth was great. I think prices are reasonable for a huge bowl of soup. What this place lacks in interior atmosphere, it makes up for with flavor. In the future I would probably get takeout, and I want to try some more authentic Chinese noodle dishes and side dishes. read more

We planned to have lunch at this Ramen place but they were closed until 3 pm. We both were hungry and did a quick search... here we were, landed in this place. I ordered N3 and liked it a lot. The noodles and the broth were delicious, LoL, I literally cleaned the thing to the bottom of the bowl. It was not busy as we got there past 2 pm; food came out fast, our server brought extra napkins without we asking. Maybe because it was not busy, the place seemed spacious. Nice option with some authentic choices. Not at all crowded. Well lit, large dining area with no booths. We were served promptly. Some domestic beer choices. Pad Thai had very thick noodles, not my favorite. Mild taste even with spices. Appetizer was adequate. I will go back. read more

I ordered the Szechuan beef noodle bowl and the skewered chicken. The chicken was dry and overcooked, more like jerky, with some kind of rub i think would've been served at a BBQ. I was so disappointed in my noodle bowl. It looked delicious, a big, hot bowl of noodles filled with beef and broth, but sadly, it didn't taste as good as it looked. My initial bite was a little shocking as it tasted like something akin to dish soap. I don't know if it was the over powering cilantro, which was the only flavor in this soup, or someone did not rinse out the pan very well. The noodles and beef were cooked perfectly, but again there was NO flavor. Where was that Szechuan heat? IDK, but in my opinion, this dish fell flat. I was really disappointed, no peppers. The wait staff was invisible after i got my food until it was time for my check. I agree the decor and ambiance is missing in this little spot. I will give it one more try during the weekend with the buffet, but if that is more of the same, I probably won't be back. So disappointing....we need more noodle shops on this side of town. read more

I wanted to check out this place that replaced O Cafe. Upon entering, I can see that they have remodeled but there is hardly any decor and it's very barren and not welcoming. However, the staff that greeted me was quick, courteous and friendly. My food came very quickly, and though it tasted good, I would definitely not qualify it as great, especially for the money. As an appetizer I got the fried tofu with chili sauce for $6.95, then I got the zhajiang noodle for $12.95. Although the tofu was good and very fresh, I think it was overpriced for the quantity, The noodle dish tasted almost like a Chinese hamburger and spaghetti. The noodles were thick like spaghetti and I was definitely disappointed in that. My least favorite type of pasta. It was way more meat heavy than I realized and I end up leaving half the meat - I did take it home to eat later. Perhaps better explanations on what their dishes are would be helpful... I realize they are just starting out so I hope as time goes on their descriptions and menu improves. The service was great, the food was fresh, it just wasn't worth the price I paid. With tip it was $25 for one person at lunch on a Friday. Just too much to pay. I should've just stayed home and made some Ramen from F Mart. read more
