We chose to work with a local company, even though they were not on our insurance's preferred vendor list. We knew that while the project may take longer than if we worked with a large corporate company, we felt would get more individualized attention, they would be working for us instead of for the insurance company, and the quality of work would be better. All this proved to be the case. The communication with the Kapi team was fantastic - keeping us updated every step of the way. Adam advocated for us with our insurance company, worked with us on changes and upgrades we wanted to work into the rebuild, and offered honest advice in decision-making. His team of skilled workers delivered high quality results and were friendly and helpful. The office staff were kind and accommodating and helped make all the paperwork and logistics flow so smoothly, even handling things with our mortgage company - this was such a gift in a stressful season. Our rebuild took about 1 year, but it was worth the wait because our home is now better than it was before the fire. The project manager Brandon Mazzacco, was consistently unprofessional, failed to communicate clearly, and generally did not appear to know what he was doing. He provided an inaccurate timeline at the outset and failed to consult with the work crews responsible for carrying out the job to ensure it was feasible. As a result, the timeline was extended at the very last minute--not once, but three separate times--which left our family displaced from our home for three times longer than we were originally told. The quality of the work performed was equally unacceptable. Much of the work was done poorly, and in several instances, it was completely incorrect. We repeatedly raised these concerns with the project manager, who failed to address them adequately. As a result, areas of our home were damaged--damage that could have and should have been avoided had the work been done with care, competence, respect and proper oversight. What is most disturbing, however, is the growing belief my wife and I share that this mistreatment and negligence were not just about incompetence, but deliberate. As a mixed-race gay couple, we could not help but notice the dismissive tone, condescension, and blatant lack of respect we received throughout the process. We cannot ignore the pattern of disregard and the persistent failure to correct mistakes that, in our view, went beyond negligence and bordered on discriminatory behavior. We expected a professional experience. What we received instead was disrespect, broken promises, poor workmanship, damage to our home, and a lingering sense that we were never treated as equal or worthy clients. No family should have to experience this--especially in their own home.

The other company came out, seemed knowledgeable, looked around the house a little (didn't go into the attic or do a deep inspection) and did an air mold test. The test showed high levels of Pen/Asp mold group in the master bedroom but the other company was unable to come back for almost two weeks and could not provide an exact quote until they came back. Due to my autoimmune issues and the symptoms I was having, we did not want to wait that long. That is when we contacted weDry. I was very overwhelmed due to the situation and first spoke with Amy, who was very kind and understanding. Even though she was professional, she made me feel comfortable, like I was talking to a friend instead of just a business. She was able to have someone out right away to do an inspection. When Mike came out to do the inspection, not only was he also kind and professional, he was extremely thorough. Pulling back the carpeting and padding in the closet, going up into the attic to look around, and even looking through all of the basement insulation. I was very impressed with the time and effort he put in to finding the source of the mold smell. WeDry was able to get a detailed quote back same day that showed a breakdown of every single expense so you know exactly where your money is going. I was also impressed by how quickly I would receive email responses from Amy or that she would touch base to see how I was doing. The cause of the mold ended up being due to an outside issue and our HOA stepped in to handle the repairs, using their own company. However, if Amy and Mikes work ethic are a reflection of weDry Restoration and the rest of their team and services, then I would say they are an outstanding company and believe that other companies should take a page from their book.

A storm the prior evening had caused an electrical outage and as a result our sump pump stopped working. My husband went into the office an hour away with limited cell signal; I was at home with a newborn baby and trying to make breakfast and begin homeschool lessons for my three school aged children. When I woke up, the basement floor had an inch of water; my oldest son was vomitting with a stomach issue, and I had my precious newborn snug with me in an attached baby wrap. So many things to handle at once. School was cancelled - and I called Puroclean from a general search. The lady who answered the phone was kind, caring, and resourceful. She checked their resources, but their workers were answering other similar calls and not close. She put me on hold and told me someone would be coming out. It was Steve Marceau, the Owner, who came to my house and assessed the situation and provided the service my family needed that day. Steve was kind. Steve was caring. Steve was honest and professional. Steve had great customer service and treated me like a neighbor, a friend, a family member. I told him I'd write a review, but lost the card. I couldn't recall the name and tried to remember, but unsuccessful... until today when I found the card I'd tucked away in order to make a proper review. The basement is divided into 4 rooms and there is a lot of heavy furniture in it. They moved everything, cleaned thoroughly, including closets, stairs and wool rugs and left the entire lower level not only clean from the storm damage, but cleaner than it has been in years. They took our rugs that were exposed to black mold and airborne particles from a sewage/plumbing disaster and had the audacity to return dirty, filthy uncleaned rugs that dumped sand and dirt onto our newly cleaned floors. All they did was wrap them in paper to look like they were cleaned! On top of that, their guys are always smoking cigarettes so everything that is "restored" and "cleaned" comes with a nice stench of smoke. Thank you, Servicemaster. This is the 5th issue we have had with you due to our sewage/plumbing disaster. Let's not forget the time you wanted to charge almost $500 to houseclean the interior of our 1,500 square foot house. I came home to an 18 year old boy with one dirty, purple rag and zero cleaning supplies attempting to "restore" and "clean" one of our bathrooms with warm water. I literally laughed and sent him home and had management call a real housekeeping service. I asked him, "Have you ever cleaned a house before?" He said, "No, the housekeeper didn't show up, I usually steam clean carpets.". Exactly. Am I in the Twilight Zone? Servicemaster, you are the worst company I have ever dealt with. Lastly, the owner's level of arrogance and rudeness is above and beyond. Obviously, he must be a trust fund baby and not be in need of work or there is a monopoly in the restoration field because he is anti-customer service and anti-respect on top of their shoddy work and unprofessionalism.
