I don't usually leave bad reviews, but my experience here was really disappointing. From the moment I walked in, the girl at the front desk seemed dismissive and uninterested in helping. As a first time customer, she didn't explain any of the tanning options, prices, or lotions--I had to drag every bit of information out of her by asking multiple questions. It felt like I was bothering her just by being there. For a place where you're trying something on your skin and body, you really want staff who are informed, friendly, and willing to guide you. Instead I left feeling uncomfortable and unsure if I even chose the right lotion and tanning time. The single employee there was rather abrupt. Considering this was my first visit, I was hoping for a more cordial atmosphere. I opted for the spray since I'm over 70, and purposeful exposure to intense UVA/UVB is unwise. The spray, IMO, while effective, did not look natural. And, again, at 70, the skin is somewhat thinner and more easily prone to areas of discoloration, which unfortunately, the spray considerably brought to the forefront. So, doing Tai Chi poolside for 30 minutes with sunscreen is a much more complementary & healthier way to improve your appearance. read more

Do not sign up for a membership with this company, please check Better Business Bureau to view the 30+ billing complaints they have received since COVID. All billing inquiries go to their general customer service group- via email or phone call, and each response is rude and unhelpful. I requested my membership be cancelled, and continued to be billed. When requesting that this be solved, I was asked why I assumed it had been cancelled? Then refused any reimbursement. They simply hope you are not checking your account enough to notice the charges come through. Do not bother arguing with their horrible customer service team. What a scam. read more

Make sure they explain to you that you will have recurring monthly debt with this company. It ended up costing me $117.00 for 2 visits. And they won't budge on a refund. When I purchased this no one informed me it would be a recurring charge. I am currently working with me credit card company to get this resolved. My daughter and I went for the first time and were pretty nervous about the entire process. The girl working, Lauren, was super helpful and patient answering all of the questions we had and showing us around before we decided on anything. I definitely didn't feel any high pressure sales like the other comments mention. She was super nice and definitely had suggestions, and honestly the products kind of up-sell themselves. We were very happy with the results, too! I'm very pale and was worried about being orange, but did a level 2 spray and look fantastic! I recommend giving them a try to form your own opinion because our experience was great! read more

I have been tanning at Zoom Tan for almost 5 years!! While I was living in Venice I had no issues!! I have been in Sarasota for 3 years and loved tanning on Clark Rd but the location has closed. So... I have been tanning on Bee Ridge. Nothing has gone right at this location. Between crazy help and NO air conditioning for the last month in the back of the building!!! Zoom Tan please fix your air!!! I am tired of the beds over heating, my feet burning and all the other crap!!! Have called corporate twice but have heard back from no one!!! Although I don't feel 100% vindicated, to see that others have suffered under the same circumstances as myself at least makes me feel, I didn't do anything wrong. I signed up for the $39.99/month tanning making it very clear that there were times I went north for a month or more and was told "no problem". I could just put it on "vacation". Well that is what I did. The beginning of July I went in, informed them I would be gone the month of August. No problem they said, I stood there while the front desk person called customer service, said I was all set. While I was away I received my bank statement and I was charged! When I inquired I was told I had to sign something...Really? I was standing there I could have signed anything. The person making the call could have been told that...anything at the time could have been done but wasn't. When I got back I went to Zoom and the person I spoke to was there and yes he remembered me and our conversation...still no one in customer service would assist me. It was like I was "no big deal" to them. Too bad, customer service is everything today. I will never say anything good about them. They take advantage of people for no good reason and feel that is okay. Do they have a good service, yes however I will never put myself at risk to being taking advantage by a company that makes their living at doing just that. read more

I visited this salon on a very busy night with a coupon for a $5 spray tan. There was only one employee working that night and she had a line about 30 minutes long for a spray tan. I showed her my coupon and she nodded in acknowledgement and said that she just needed my signature before she put me in the bed. About 25 minutes later, it was finally my turn. She shoved a form in front of me and off I went to tan. The color did turn out well, but to my dismay, she incorrectly charged me the full price for the spray tan. When I called to talk to customer service about the error, they were incredibly rude and basically blamed the error on me. The manager, Mary, was anything but helpful. She raised her voice at me and interrupted me constantly. Instead of apologizing for her employee's mistake, she said it was my fault and she could not refund the difference. Obviously this company is short-sighted and cares more about its profit margins than its customer service or reputation in the community. read more

Let's start out saying I love Zoom Tan located in Sarasota,Fl !! This comany/ location is just an awesome tanning salon...I've tried 2 different tanning places before Zoom Tan. Best employee hands down is Taylor! She is a honest person,super friendly and knowledgeable when it comes to EVERYTHING you might need know about tanning and products and much more! I have had some bad experiences with other team members and something about Taylor makes my welcome into the shop so much more relaxing and enjoying! Taylor and Zoom Tan together has this welcoming, positive energy right when you walk in the door! The salon has SOOOO MANY options starting from lotions for the beds and much more items which makes the experience even better. I can't pick a favorite room when comes to UV or spray tanning.. I use them all! I like to mentioned they're ALL STAND UP BEDS!! But no matter what UV/spray tan bed you choose you always see WONDERFUL results no matter which high quality bed I or you will tan in!! The salon is bright, super clean and even provides lotions and towels and eye wear and much more for fairly cheap prices. What more can you ask for? Taylor HAS ALWAYS MET MY NEEDS! Zoom Tan is by far best company I would recommend to start your tanning sessions at!! I feel like it's like a mini getaway and you come out with a wonderful tan, feeling refreshed and looking just out right fabulous!!
