Zorba's is an absolute gem. This was my first time trying it and it definitely won't be my last. I ordered the beef luleh and chicken plate with garlic sauce on the side, and everything was incredible. I'm jumping on the five star bandwagon for Zorba's! We went late yesterday afternoon (open Mondays, closed Tuesdays Ty!) for the first time. I'm pleased to report that we have a new go-to for our local restaurant rotation. Simply wow on the food. The chicken shawarma is the best I've ever eaten. Loved the super fresh sides, bread and sauces too. The flavors just kept coming. The garlic sauce is more garlicky than the Z chain version. Well done! The restaurant is set up well for take-out, but we were happy to be able to sit in the air conditioned patio area and enjoy the top notch eats at this local small business. I've visited this restaurant three times so far -- and I plan to keep coming back, especially since it's conveniently close to home. Each time, the food has been outstanding. The chicken is always perfectly tender and juicy, and while I usually order beef lule at Mediterranean spots, here I always get both the beef lule and chicken because the quality is truly exceptional. The ingredients are clean and fresh (we've even spoken directly with the owner about this), which is something I deeply value. My boyfriend and I have tried nearly every Mediterranean restaurant in and around the Sunland area, and this is the first one I've felt compelled to write a review for -- simply because of how consistently excellent it is. It even surpasses some of our favorite spots in Burbank (though Sotta is also a strong contender). On top of the great food, the owners are incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive. They're always friendly and have even generously given us extra garlic sauce on occasion. I'd love to try eating in their outside patio as it looks relaxing with a nice ambiance, but unfortunately I've been ordering take out because of a busy schedule. Thanks to all the Yelpers out there. I happened to be in the area and was looking for a nice place for lunch. I found this place with the help of the Yelp community. Their reviews of this place made me want to stop by and try for myself. Once again, the Yelp fans did not disappoint. Since it was my first time here, I spoke with the owners as to what was their popular dish. They suggested I go with the chicken breast plate. When our food arrived, I was blown away by the aroma of the chicken. I could see the steam coming from the rice. I knew everything was fresh, created in house and made to order. The chicken was nicely marinated with unique seasoning and spices. Each piece was tender and moist. The salad was made fresh and added a nice balance to the rice and chicken. The tomato was seasoned with a unique blend that was out of this world. I asked the worker what they used, and like all great magicians, they wouldn't reveal their secret. The serving portion was really generous. I almost had trouble finishing the food on my plate. Their dining area was really well done. It looks like an enclosed patio, with an upper level for private dining. The owners spent a lot of time to design and decorate it and it felt really welcoming. This is a family business. The owners are hardworking and are really nice, super friendly and very hospitable. The reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that we wanted to eat in but unfortunately when we got there the eating in area smelled so strongly of cigarette that we decided to order to go. I've been passing this place for a while and wanting to try it. I finally got a chance today. I ordered the chicken breast plate. Total was a little over $16. It came with about five big pieces of chicken on rice, salad, and a half grilled tomato. I wish some hummus had been included. Later when I was looking more at the menu I saw that the chicken shawarma plate does come with hummus but doesn't come with rice. The salad was good and fresh. I would probably get the dressing on the side next time because it was a little too much for me but it was good. The chicken was super moist and flavorful. I really enjoyed it. I'm giving this spot four stars because for the cost it'd be nice to get a little bit more like the hummus, but the food was very good. Located in a little strip in Tujunga is this little gem. I ordered half rotisserie chicken to go. I thought it was juicy enough but my husband said that it was bit on the dryer side. But we both still thought the chicken tasted really good with the garlic butter sauce, hummus and the wrap. The price is very good too compared to the other rotisserie chicken places in the area.
