Love the fresh rotisserie chicken; they cook them so well and the meat is delicious. They make awesome chicken tacos too. Their chicken noodle soup is to die for. Their garlic sauce rocks! I experienced this restaurant earlier this week. The interior appears clean if dated with regard to appearance. I found the large photographs of the food unappealing to be totally honest. There is a popular regional restaurant with a name that starts with a Z and ends with a U which blows Sevan out of the water. The chicken was DRY and tasteless. Service was forgettable. The whole time the lady up front had and attitude with me and my wife and seem frustrated and was trying to rush us the whole time from ordering until the food was ready which she yelled at us multiple times saying "foods ready!!" As if she was annoyed that we weren't getting up to get it the second she yelled at us. Hadn't been to Sivan chicken for over a year. Now I know why. The grumpy person that takes your order, never, smiling,, never kind, is just the start. The kebabs, unknown to me, we're not breast meat that I am used to at most Mediterranean restaurants. They are made with the thigh, marinated and paprika. In my humble opinion, they are awful. The pickled jicama was stale and didn't taste fresh. The servings were paltry, considering the price has over doubled since the last time I was there. Don't think I'll go back anytime soon! PS they do not offer any water other than tap water to drink. They do not have cups, or straws for the canned drinks they do sell. They do not have ice either for the canned drinks without a cup. What have you done with my CHICKEN!!! I use to live in Sunland, and been coming to Sevan chicken since the 90's. Moved 20 miles away and in occasion will drive the 20 miles just to have my favorite chicken. I just picked up an order today and I told my wife the color of the chicken looks different. Did Sevan changed their cook, recipe? The flavor is bland today, not the same Sevan chicken I know!! Really disappointed today! Last time I ordered food from there the tabouleh had mold !!!!! Sadly, we did not notice until we had eaten some of it . The service has completely gone downhill from decades ago, and so has the quality and quantity of food more than other restaurants post-covid. The woman ringing up orders messed up my phone order, and instead of owning it, she reiterated at least 6-10 times (to make sure the cook/maybe owner and other worker heard) that I need to state the order in a certain way even though I reminded her that when she and I spoke on the phone, I did let her know that I only wanted white meat, etc. when ordering and that I was ordering two of the exact same item, lol...apparently ordering one thing and stating that I would like another order of the exact same thing is not clear enough... the kicker is that, despite her language barrier and desperate attempt to deflect the mistake from her, she still managed to be condescending and let me know they're just going to give me the correct order of chicken (did not redo the rice, etc. even though by the time I got home, realized, and brought back, the whole thing was not warm any longer) , and told me to keep the original that I walked back inside...not, "I'm sorry, I may have misheard", "Okay, no problem", etc....the rice is definitely different as is the chicken and turnips...pita bread is typically dry, now. Had rice and humus as my side and my order came with two large pita breads. It was warm today and it seems they don't have air conditioning so dress cool when visiting during the hot days. I feel terrible giving this place 3 starts but you have to hear me out. Let me be frank with you. The food here is without a doubt delicious. I love their rotisserie chicken. You can order a whole chicken, 1/2 or 1/4. Go with the 1/4, it comes with 2 sides and you can pick between French fries, hummus, Moutbal or a salad. Every combo comes with a delicious garlic dip and 2 pita breads with a fountain drink. A very hearty meal for a reasonable price. Because it's a Mediterranean place the have many other delicious dishes. With that being said, here's why the low grade. The customer service is not good at all. There is a cashier there, a woman and I don't know her name. She is on her phone all the time or on a call while trying to take your order. It's very annoying and frustrating. On top of that she messes up your order occasionally and can be rude. The tables are hardly ever clean and the restroom is a scene straight out of a horror movie. I've been here a good 10 times because like I said the food is just so good. This place would be perfect if they hired a different cashier and renovate it a bit.
