It was clean, she didn't take me to the office like a interview she talked to me, asked me my goals, have I been to a anytime, she asked my strengths and weaknesses, took me to them machines, to the purple floor where the trainer was I got to meet, she took me to the weights and studio told me about the studio, showed me the restrooms and trainer office. Then the lockers and the her office she told me about the biweekly payments, I can go to any of the anytimes, we touch base again on my goals what have I done in the past and more. We need her on our team and at our gym.

Like everyone in the neighborhood, I wanted to support the local franchise. At the beginning of March, in the middle of the night, I blacked out and fell from standing, hitting my head on the linoleum kitchen floor. I have a brain injury and cognitive issues since then. Things were exacerbated by two motorcycle accidents while learning to drive at the motorcycle safety course at the end of June. At the beginning of July, I alerted AF to let them know that I was struggling physically and cognitively and needed to cancel my monthly membership because I was unable to utilize the facility due to acute injuries sustained from my accidents. I had applied online. Applying online was a huge mistake because it didn't tell you that although you are paying biweekly, you are also locked into a year contract for over $800. Had I known that, I never would have signed up. It was a regret that the facility manager mentioned regarding signing up on the website because in person, that was something she would have told me. She admitted it wasn't clear in a phone call I had with her to explain my situation. I said that I would get a letter from my general physician. My physical therapist also told me to let the gym membership go to focus on more gentle chair exercises that she gave me. It took a few weeks to get the letter from my doctor, which I had let Af know. My physician was extremely busy during these summer months. When I got the letter, I immediately sent it over to the manager at AF. They said they couldn't reimburse me for the month I didn't use and that they would continue to charge my bank account for the additional month of August and that they would charge an additional $50 to cancel the membership. These fees would come to $106. Charging me additional fees and a cancellation fee WAS NOT discussed when I was asked to get a note from my doctor. They charged me for the first payment in August. I emailed and asked them to stop since they had the doctor's note. They informed me that I could refuse the payment but that it would go into collections. I hate to say this, but this was pretty shady. You don't need to go to a gym where your fixed income is deeply impacted due to the greediness of franchises that lock you into a membership where they continue to siphon money out of your bank account even though you've proved that you are unable to use their facilities. It's an apathetic, poor business model. No wonder there aren't very many people in their gym. It's unfair and added an enormous load of stress. I would get your own weights, bands, bikes, and go for a walk around your neighborhood, because it accounts to the same thing. Gym memberships are highway robbery and with the tariffs that are about to hit us so hard that things can go up to 40% over what they usually cost, luxury items like, gym memberships are financial leaks that can be plugged or avoided at all costs. Their rote replies about caring for customers and hoping for a second chance is childish and doesn't heal the problem. Read through the reviews. Their students range from age 3-76! It's never too late. Tucked in downtown Hopkins, this studio is well-worth the commute from where I live. Plenty of free parking. Near many businesses so you can go shopping or go to a restaurant while you're waiting for your kid.

Classes at Children's Theater, MacPhail, The Little Gym, Minneapolis and Edina Parks and Rec etc... Bottom line = not everyone has the skills to teach this age group. In our experience, HOD does not have the ability to teach this age group. We attended one class. There is a class for older kids going on at the same time and there is no acoustical separation between studios. They have a flimsy sliding wall separating the two spaces. This is not a good set up for any age group, but particularly 3-year-olds. Also, the teacher told my 3-year-old he was going to write him up. He did this because that was the best he could do with this age group. My son sometimes does not listen and has been in numerous classes as mentioned above - not one of those places has EVER said anything like that before to him. That they would give him a warning and write him up? Needless to say, we never returned. And of course they have a no money back policy (its a fine print thing). Many other places (listed above) have a prorated refund policy which I applaud.

Then while you were working out they will say things like "nice job Corey!" Also the other people attending class were very peppy and :-). The classes are 30 minutes which I didn't think was long enough. Part of the way they saved time was having you warm up while they showed you how to do the moves. That was way too much for my brain to handle, trying to learn 10 exercises while doing leg lifts. It was typically some sort of circuit format. One day it was do 10 reps of all 10 exercises the first time, eight reps the second time around and so on. Another day the exercise was timed for 40 seconds. Some of the exercises were very basic, do a Burpee, but others were more complicated and it was hard to remember exactly how to do. I will say, every time I asked for help, they were right over there. But this was a noon class with eight students, I can imagine it would be more difficult to get individual attention with 25 students. Also I noticed some of the people were doing the exercise wrong and they weren't being corrected. I was told they won't correct you if you're doing the exercise wrong but it still getting you a good exercise. This place seems to be targeted to people who are not in very good shape vs people who are already in shape. There are plenty of before and after pictures on the wall to attest to this. They do a before and after picture for their 21 day challenge. But I must say some of my friends who are going here (who are in shape) enjoy it very much. I went to another place where they had videos of the exercises and it was nice to be able to look up and see how to do the exercise. This place is $167 a month. I am writing to express my disappointment with the customer service I received at the Life Time…read morePlymouth location on the evening of July 18th, 2026 at approximately 8:00 p.m. I brought two friends with me as my guests. Upon arriving, I was informed that the Plymouth location was not included in my membership and that, because it was after 6:00 p.m., my guest passes were no longer valid. My friend then offered to pay the guest fee of $50 each for himself and his father, but your front desk representative informed us that this was not allowed after 6:00 p.m. I fully understand that employees are required to enforce Life Time's policies, and I have no issue with the rules themselves. My concern is with the manner in which we were treated. The representative was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional throughout the interaction. Her tone of voice, attitude, and overall demeanor made us feel unwelcome from the moment we approached the desk. Good customer service requires treating members and guests with courtesy and respect, even when delivering disappointing news, and unfortunately that did not happen. As we were leaving, the representative used her radio to communicate with someone. I could not hear what she said, but as we were riding the elevator, a Life Time employee who appeared to be part of the security staff approached her and spoke with him, then pointed in our direction. This left the three of us confused and uncomfortable, especially since we had been respectful throughout the entire interaction and had not caused any disturbance. I did not catch the representative's name, but she was working the front desk at approximately 8:00 p.m. I respectfully ask that management review the security footage and, if available, the audio from our interaction so you can evaluate how the situation was handled. I hope management will investigate this matter thoroughly and take the appropriate action to ensure that members and their guests are treated with professionalism and respect in the future. Regrettably, this experience has left such a negative impression that I have decided to cancel my membership. Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to your response. I love this lifetime! It's super close to my house and I love taking yoga and barre classes…read morethroughout the week. All the front desk staff are very nice too and the instructors are great as well and always open to help with any questions. The parking lots get full and sometimes, depending on the event, staff may redirect visitors and members a different route down to the weight room. My advice, call ahead of time to see if there are any major events happening so you can plan ahead for your visit. :)
