Super One is a chain here in Minnesota and I believe in a couple of surrounding states. They've managed to be the low priced store with good customer service and they bag your groceries! Sure, they have the occasional grumpy cashier but it's the customers that make them this way. If you're just nice to them, they will change their attitude. I'm not quite sure how they manage to keep their prices so low since there's virtually no competition. Since it's where I shop, I won't complain!

The last time I was there I spotted 5 in the self chekout area doing absolutely nothing. Wouldn't it be great if they could open cashier checkout line especially when all of the self check lines are full? They have a nice deli and many products that are made in house. I have recently become especially fond of the Bleu Cheese Salami that is made in house; that stuff is killer! Cashiers here are always friendly. The grocery store is always clean, well stocked and a popular pick for locals and tourists. Definitely oozes the small town and communal vibe. Postings at the entrance of the store are always fun to read and keep up with the latest happenings in town. I hope Ely Northland is around for a while because it is absolutely a staple in Ely's community.
