I had some plumbing work done the week before, and the holes in the ceiling had started to become an eyesore to me, and I really wanted it fixed! I called on a Tuesday, and he said he'd be able to come out a couple of days (Thursday), and get started on the repair. He arrived in a timely manner, and had everything done within a couple of hours, which I was very happy with. Hence my giving him a credit of 2 stars. However after inspecting the actual work done on the ceiling, I thought it looked very shoddy and unprofessional. There was a clear indentation of where the work was done, and it was not the seamless finish I had envisioned. I told him that I wanted the entire ceiling area to look as blended as possible when he started the job, and he had told me that he could do that for me, for $300 . That's not what I saw! He reassured me that after the paint dried, everything would somewhat blend into the ceiling, and look more even. I told him I wasn't happy with the work, and asked if he'd come back and help me complete it. He agreed that he also didn't think the job was completed to his liking, so he agreed to come out on Saturday ( he wanted the paint to be given a chance to dry) I texted him on Friday evening to remind him about Saturday, and verify a time when he would be at my house. No response.. I tried texting him on Saturday, and I texted him mid week on Wednesday..I never heard from this person again. Even after reassuring me that he would've come back. He was not courteous and professional to follow up in any manner. Complete ghosting on his part! I do not recommend his services if you are looking for a professional who'd show up and complete the job in a manner that makes the client happy, because it's not sloppy! At this point, I need to find someone else to fix his terrible, botched workmanship. The ceiling continues to be a major eyesore to me.

Tom quoted us price, four buildings, he delivered every one of them under budget. For business like us, we hire a contractor and cost overruns are huge problem, often cost overruns are high as 30%, contractor starts project, half way in he tells you it will cost more. There were a few painters that responded back saying they would undercut any competition, but that was a scary thought, as who knows what corners they would be cutting to provided that. We decided to go with Tom Tom, and can not have been more pleased with our decision. The personalized service, professionalism, friendliness, and quality of work was very welcomed, as we were a little anxious about the overall process to begin with. Tom Tom took care of everything. Steve and Trevor were on site for a few days and did outstanding work. Tom came the last two days and put a beautiful poly finish on our wood stairs. He quoted the job over the phone on 12 May 2022 I should have been wary when he asked for half the money at the beginning of work and the balance upon completion. That's usually a sign of a workman who is not confident in his work. He and Kevin, his former partner, arrived on the job-site on 11 Jul 2022. That day they primed the cabinets; If you like sarcastic workman whom you let into your home, Mr. Shea is the painter for you. When I asked him how he could quote the job over the phone and not make any effort to come and see the job, neither meeting us first, nor providing a sample, he stated, "cause I'm that good." That day they were in such a hurry that they didn't TSP the cabinets and left a shelf and a portion of one cabinet not touched by primer. They left with the drawer fronts and cabinet doors. I sent him photos of the incomplete work and he said Kevin would return the next day and prime what was missed and apply the first coat of the finish. Kevin did spend some time the next day and was good enough to move the refrigerator out so that he could paint the alcove, after I asked about it, but it was not primed first. Next day was the third day on the job and by the end of it there were many major blemishes: orange peeling, tear-drop drips as well as drips of paint on the stove, This was another day that they bum-rushed the job. When I sent him a photo, he was kind enough to tell me how I could clean it off the stove. Needless to say, I left it for him. When Mr. Shea came to re-install the doors and drawer fronts, I showed him my concerns, and to his credit, he did address them. I payed him and he left. I am still adjusting door fronts and completing the touch-ups associated with the rubbing of the doors and drawers because they were not properly installed (European hinges). I payed the man, but I would not recommend anyone let him do their cabinets. He's probably a good exterior painter; but, I thought the old saying was that "painters make their money inside." I'd grade this job a solid C.
