I ordered the Simple Scram. It comes with eggs, green onion, white cheddar, avocado and black pepper, and a slice of sourdough. I ordered it to go, so unfortunately I did not get a picture of the food, only the café itself. The vibe inside was relaxed and welcoming. Now, onto the food. I am somewhat of an egg snob. I can usually tell when eggs are not organic or cage free because they tend to have a distinctive flavor. I have to admit, this scramble was fantastic. It may be a simple egg dish, but if this is how good the Simple Scram is, I can only imagine how good the rest of the breakfast menu must be. The eggs were cooked perfectly, fluffy, the amount of cheese and green onion complemented the eggs without overpowering them, and the avocado was a great addition. The sourdough deserves a mention too. It was perfectly toasted and absolutely delicious. I picked ā cage based on the great reviews, and it definitely lived up to them. We picked the spot because we saw they had breakfast sandwiches, which we love, and our bellies were so happy we visited this cafe as rhere seems to be a cafe on every block. When you walk in, you will order from one of the friendly servers, who will give you a number for your order. Then, you can pick a spot around the room to sit. They have one large table, a handful of tables with bench seating along the wall, a high-top area, and counter-space bar-like seats. Lots of people were working while they drank lattes and ate food. We chose the egg, bacon, avocado sandwich, and an egg scramble to share. The sandwich was insanely good. The bacon is super crispy. The egg was perfectly cooked. The bun was buttery, toasted, and the avocados were real and mushy. It was such a thick sandwich. Getting it all in your mouth was tricky, but each perfect bite was phenomenal. We also got the simple scramble, which was scrambled eggs, pepper, and avocado on the side. The scrambled eggs reminded me of my mom because they were light and fluffy. Such a great atmosphere , open space, great lightning. I had the opportunity to try this place on Sunday, a day that they are not normally open ; for a going away party for an awesome DJ. So cool of them to open up for a couple hours, with that; it was a limited menu. This toast wasnt my fav, But I can't wait to go back and try more options. Probably the most delicious coffee I've ever tasted. Ordered a vanilla cappuccino and had a white chocolate mocha to go. It wasn't extremely sweet which is nice. You could actually enjoy the taste of the coffee. The staff is so friendly and the space is really neat. The food was good but it wasn't anything overly special. read more

This place is so stinkin' cute, with great ingredients! Smallish menu, but perfect for breakfast or lunch, totally casual, and very tasty! I love that their sandwiches are on Acme sourdough and their eggs are organic and cage-free. Their beans are organic too, but I'm not sure on the rest of the ingredients. I would hope the veggies are, but I forgot to ask. Regardless, the sandwiches are stacked, and the bowls are very well done and plenty flavorful. I would definitely hit this place on the regular. Honestly, I can't even remember what we ordered, but I know my husband ordered one of the bowls and I couldn't stop stealing bites, while I had ordered one of the yummy sandwiches. We will definitely be back! Honestly, I wish there were more cafes like this. I think it's nice to have something cleaner, lighter, especially in the summer. On vacation we decided to try A Cafe in downtown Boise Idaho. We loved the location in Downtown and outside seating. We also were allowed to bring our dog outside- there were three other behaved dogs. So for us traveling bringing our dog was plus and a must. Staff super friendly and helpful. We ordered Breakfast Burrito, Oatmilk Latte and Veggie Burrito. All delish and generous portions. I definitely will come back on my next Boise visit. Highly recommend read more

I love this place! Where else can you get cage free organic eggs?! The ambiance and decor is cute and cozy with indoor and outdoor patio seating. Update: I'm not sure when prices went up but I can't seem to justify paying $17 for a sandwich and salad! I love the environment, the employees are all friendly, and their food is delish. But my favorite item (the popular turkey situation sandwich) is now a bit pricey for what you're getting. Also, am I the only one who finds it funny they say all sandwiches are served with a side of chips or salad ... and then put the additional price? Decent service, good drinks, OK food (lacks flavor). Aside from the fly problem, I was eating breakfast when someone brought their mini golden doodle in and it peed on the floor right next to my table. The dog owner just walked away...an employee came over and cleaned it up with a napkin (no cleaner). I understand a lot of people have dogs as pets (not service animals), but please, keep your dog at home or outside. No one wants to eat around a dog who is shedding or going to the bathroom next to your table. Be considerate of those who don't want this or those who are allergic. When business owners allow this, you have to consider their hygiene standards in the kitchen where your food is being prepared. read more

So we are visiting Idaho for hiking and staying in Boise for a few days before we leave. We decided to check out this spot for breakfast and if my goodness LOVE! So first off all, super cute simple downtown location with a good layout, not a huge space but there is outside and some inside options. I got the avocado toast, my son got the egg sandwich, and my husband got the burrito. All fresh, super tasty, great presentation, all the things! Great coffee! I had a vanilla latte that was a little more on the sweet side than other coffee joints. They have a fun menu for drinks that I would like to explore more in terms of their different flavors and styled of chai lattes, so I will be back. They offer a breakfast and lunch menu. I work around the corner and everyone raves about a cafe so I had a lunch engagement and decided to try them out. They sell local children's books autographed. Bonus if you're looking for a gift. If you're looking for the type of breakfast place that serves avocado toast, this is your spot. I always get their avo toast with arugula and typically a 6 minute egg. Unfortunately, last time I went they served me a fried egg and when asked if I could get the 6 min egg I requested, they said they were all out. If you're out of eggs, how do you serve fried then instead? That confused me... First time here and the food was pretty good. Restaurant was modern and cute. I got the BLT scramble and my hubby had the Cobb salad. Prices are pretty high but it's downtown, so I get it. I probably won't be back though. There was a medium sized dog (didn't have a sweater or badge, but may still be a service dog?) in the cafe which I was totally cool with until multiple staff members petted the dog and just went back to work... Erika and the team at A Café were truly wonderful and the sandwiches, salads, chips, and cookies they created for our boxed lunches were delicious with fresh and vibrantly flavored ingredients. We had a large crew, so I had the opportunity to interface with Erika prior to our event, and she was thoughtful, helpful, timely, and communicative. She created a shortened menu for us. I sent a spreadsheet for our orders and Erika and the team labeled each box with names and contents of each box, they got the lunches to us before they even opened for the day, and they even offered to deliver them! My wife and I were in town visiting and this was a great find. Lots of gluten free options, fresh healthy choices and everything was delicious. We each had a brekky bowl and I really enjoyed the sweet house made nola. My wife missed out since it isn't gluten free. We really recommend trying this spot if you haven't. read more
